Dr The Singh Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 I think that is unfair on the people of Syria. We should keep them here so they don't go murdering innocent families IMO.Life is unfair. If these people want to go, under what jurisdiction can we hold them on, without proof, they will be set free, so what's the point. Unless if got something wrong?
leicsmac Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 The argument regarding their citizenship is pointless. As Buce says, if they are born in this country they are British citizens and revoking that contravenes international law. That's pretty much the long and the short of it. As for letting them go or keeping them here, that's a more complex argument, but if they're disaffected enough to want to join a group of death worshipping fascists that speaks of some pretty big problems. They're our problem, not anyone else's.
Guest MattP Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 The over 18's should be allowed to go. We didn't stop our citizens going to Russia, Spain, South America, Germany, Ireland or Africa in the past to fight against British interests whether they were a citizen of the crown or not - I don't know why some see this as such a special case. But no way should be carting children over the border with you to condemn them to this life.
Guest MattP Posted 4 April 2015 Posted 4 April 2015 How funny is it they are connected to the Labour party as well? The Rochdale MP was certainly right about Katie Hopkins 'He doesn't need her stirring up community division' in his city - his councillors are good enough at that themselves
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 4 April 2015 Author Posted 4 April 2015 Hundreds of Islamic State fighters in the Syrian city of Raqqa, capital of the self proclaimed ISIS caliphate have been infected by Leishmaniasis which can become fatal if not treated with a simple course of medicine. 1 of 3 Leishmaniasis is a disease caused by a parasite and is transmitted by the bite of certain types of sand flies. Worldwide, about 2 million new cases are reported each year causing 20,000 to 50,000 deaths. The disease causes large open wounds which eat away flesh and enlarged spleen and liver. Initial cases were reported in war-torn Syria last year and doctors from organisations like Medicines Sans Frontieres were trying to curb the outbreak, but have left the area since ISIS took control. Local medics with little experience of treating Leishmaniasis are left to deal with patients now. It is also reported that jihadi fighters are refusing medical treatment which has led to it spreading extensively. Dr Hotez, President of the Sabine Vaccine Institute has termed the situation out of control. The Doctor Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 And suddenly western medicine becomes acceptable... aka the Gandhi manoeuvre
1993fox Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Not something I'm concerning myself with tbh. Continue doing so, and we'll have more jihadi filth running around the country.
1993fox Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 I wasn't really giving an opinion, I was just stating that as much as they are British citizens, they don't cause us a problem anymore. Going and marrying an ISIS fighter isn't a direct threat to us. As you asked though (about the Latvians), yes, they should either be sent back or imprisoned over here. Although your question seems irrelevant, because the girls are British citizens, and I didn't say I think they should be sent back here from Syria. I also never said that they weren't British, and should've been sent 'back' (to Syria from Britain). I'm impartial to the whole situation as I don't know enough of the facts. I know I just said I'm impartial. This is my theory of what happened not an opinion on whether they are right or wrong, innocent or guilty... They willingly went to Syria, I'm sure everyone agrees there is no doubt about that, although the reasons behind them going are obviously much more complex. In my opinion, and using pure conjecture, I think that they have been coerced into going, slightly, but the three friends have all thought it is a good idea and wanted to go together. The seed had been planted in their minds, and the plans have grown between the 3 of them. You're so deluded in liberal propaganda
Leeds Fox Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 You're so deluded in liberal propaganda Care to elaborate about my delusions?
Guest MattP Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 The ex Labour MP for Dewsbury Shahid Malik did a segment on this last night on This Week about the situation regarding people going to Syria/Iraq etc He made some very good points regarding the way we seem to tackle and view this, some say IS are in surging in Iraq because we intervened, some say they are surging in Syria because we didn;t intervene, we can't have it both ways, he also make a great point that instead of Britain asking mosques to show and tell us they are not preaching a pro Islamist message they should be telling everyone they are preaching an anti-islamist message. He also said we need a Muslim led inquiry into why so many British young people want to turn to IS instead of living here, that for me is a great idea, I don't think that's something white liberal westerners will be able to find out for themselves.
Guest MattP Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 What channel was it on matt? Apologies for the lateness of reply mate was away this weekend, it was on 'This Week' last Thursday on BBC1, it will be on the Iplayer.
Wymsey Posted 23 June 2015 Posted 23 June 2015 Mr. Vaz wants the government to do more to block people going Syria-bound. Most of the country do, sir.
