Leicesterpool Posted 8 March 2015 Share Posted 8 March 2015 So what do people think?... To me it sounds on the bit of the weird side, however it doesn't matter if the song is crap or not we still won't get many votes.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 March 2015 Share Posted 8 March 2015 Its one of those songs that no other country will get and we'll probably end up with a very low points total. I don't know why we bother anyway, its all political anyway.

stevelcfc Posted 8 March 2015 Share Posted 8 March 2015 Should just send OneDirection to do it. They do it and they win, happy days. They do it and they do crap, their careers will be over, happy days.
The Doctor Posted 8 March 2015 Share Posted 8 March 2015 I love it - electroswing! Obviously we're not going to win - it's mostly political/cultural: no coincidence that Turkey and Cyprus always get each others votes for instance. Only way to win it outside of being part of a big bloc is to have a good gimmick like Austria last year.

Webbo Posted 9 March 2015 Share Posted 9 March 2015 Judging by last years winner our best bet would be Brian Blessed in drag.
bovril Posted 9 March 2015 Share Posted 9 March 2015 I'm sure we've had this debate before but it's really not political, it's about air play in various countries. Cypriot music is popular in Turkey and vice versa.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 March 2015 Share Posted 9 March 2015 That's what Eurovision has been missing, a 1930s vibe. What could possibly go wrong? It's not really my cup of tea but it's well constructed and quirky - they could have done a lot worse, and usually do. Should've gone with this, though:
DennisNedry Posted 9 March 2015 Share Posted 9 March 2015 I'm supporting the autistic/downs punk group! Our entry is decent for the standard of Eurovision to be fair, but you can guarantee we'll be near bottom. We have so many popular singers in this country (more than all of the rest of Europe put together) but nobody good wants to do it because it's seen as a joke. One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith etc to name just a few would walk it for us if they entered.
Finnegan Posted 9 March 2015 Share Posted 9 March 2015 I think the politics is really just an excuse for the fact we don't "get" eurovision and we always send shit anyway. Our entry is always awful and the best ones usually finish around about the top. People make out like it's the biggest fix every year. It really isn't. Yes, there's bias in the voting but the end result is usually about right. I've never seen a UK entry I'd vote for so why is anyone shocked we always lose? Europeans love a bit of cheese. It's either got to be some gay anthem or a ridiculously over the top power ballad to win. So what do we do? Send Blue. Okay.
Leicesterpool Posted 9 March 2015 Author Share Posted 9 March 2015 I think if we'd did something like Austria did last year we'd be rock bottom, but because it's not us they'll win. I remember when Engelbert represented us in the eurovision back in 2012, I have alot of respect for him but it was embarrassment for both himself and the UK, the song was very dated and the idea of asking a 75 year old to represent us in the eurovision is a bit pushing it. Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 March 2015 Share Posted 9 March 2015 You cannot say that the bloke who wrote it doesn't have an excellent pedigree: "The song was written by David Mindel, a jingle writer whose previous credits include the theme tunes for National Lottery Live and Jim'll Fix It." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31797409
Brenfox Posted 12 March 2015 Share Posted 12 March 2015 Love Eurovision but the song is utterly dreadful.
