  1. Rudders: It's June, shouldn't we start doing something? Top: Relaaaaaax guyyy!
  2. I expect Iran and Egypt will probably pose more of a challenge than you think. New Zealand are grim though I'll give you that
  3. Sadly as I was typing that, this is basically what I imagined would happen if a statement was released
  4. Nothing like wiping your hands, feeling the damp and realising it's at the end and you're wiping your hands in the same place 20 other people have
  5. This month we really need a statement from either Top or Rudkin to outline the expectations of the season. Real expectations and an honest overview of the state of the club. We don't need nitty gritty details or anything that will give our position away (although anyone in football with a brain and a phone probably has a good idea of the score anyway) Ideally high level view of - Do we need to shift key players? - Are we able to sign players - if so where are we looking? - Realistic targets for the next season and then 3, 5 seasons. Should we expect we have to cut our cloth and the aim is stabilise? - Work being done that can be discussed at a high level Just something to let the fans know where the club stands, what we should expect and what is being done. I'm no comms guy that's for sure, but they have said they want to be transparent. For me that'd start with, as a minimum: Laying down the situation as best they can What we should realistically expect as fans (we can probably draw our own conclusions from the other points) What work is being done. It feels like we're all speculating with little bits of information we can gather and piece together. It'd be nice for the club to actually give us an insight into the situation so we're all on the same page.
  6. I'd take 3m for souts. We're in a position now where cashflow trumps meeting any PSR requirements. Given his injury record as well I think 3m is fair. Hope he does well though and stays injury free. I imagine fans will be quite underwhelmed with this summer. I hope they are anyway, because if Rudkin gambles the house this season and fails again. Tgen id say there's a good chsnce we lose the house. How is the guy still in a job?!
  7. Yeah I'll give you that, there's huge range of ability between being Elite and thinking Russell Martin is a good option. Just falling in the mid point between those two would be good enough for me right now.
  8. Cheers Buzz killington! On McCarron, I'm not falling into the trap of assuming he's elite because he's worked for an elite company. The man looks like he loves a slide deck though! I think we'll have a good idea of his ability after 18-24 months. If he does have any significant influence, it's gonna take a year minimum before we start seeing any evidence of the results of it. It should become quite apparent if he's allowed to stamp his own authority though as we're pretty easy to read as a club. For what it's worth I'm in the same boat on your 2nd line , I find it hard to believe we have any real interest. I expect it's either: 1. journalist(s) making an educated guess and if it comes off they look like they have the inside scoop. or 2. I really don't want to credit the club too much, but perhaps there is something to the idea that they chuck some rancid names out to people in the media, in order to soften the blow when the actual appointment happens. All I know is, if it was to happen then 23 league one teams will get a temporary fan while he is here.
  9. Apparently we get 10k a day for each player at the world cup. So hopefully that means we get the lovely money for him and Ghana last till June 30th. Between him, Fatawu and Souttar we might cover Jannik's wages for the duration of the world cup.
  10. Christ, it only feels like a few seasons ago he was breaking into the first team there That's made me feel older.
  11. Looking at the positive of that, at least someone would benefit out of tanking the club. Atm we're all losers, apart from maybe Rudkin who is being handsomely rewarded for his part in it all.
  12. I dno, he's come from a group that absolutely adore the way Martin wants to play. I'd suspect he would be on board with Martin. I imagine they both gave esch other a 2 hour presentation. Had a huel and high performance podcast break in between, then finished off with a game of Padel.
  13. Good to see, KDH is a great example to the younger lads on the benefits of taking it seriously and putting in the graft. Fair play to Evans who seems to acknowledge he took his foot off the gas at the wrong point last summer thinking he'd already made it. Ideally he would have had an experienced arm round his shoulder to guide him, of course that could have happened and fell on deaf ears. Either way, good to see he's treating this summer differently.
  14. Nothing that an imaginative mind and a few well chosen AI prompts can't help out with
  15. Yeah fair. Although I would say, if you zoom out a bit, both are still related to having no plan and running on vibes haha
