Nodsy Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25205240 Off to QPR, despite a late bid from ourselves, apparently.
LCCFox96 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Has quality which would add to the squad but he is a mercenary. Not bothered tbh.
Nick Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Don't care, don't need him. Hmm. He might of been rather good coming off the bench or maybe for the odd cup game?
Guest MattP Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Would have liked him, class act and can play that right side of midfielder we often go on about. Not gutted though as the squad looks well capable.
21st Century Fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Don't care, don't need him. That's obviously not what the club thought if we made contact. Interesting, you'd assume he'd command a decent wage in the Championship.
absolutelegend Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 doesn't strike me as a NP type of player. If true, glad we didn't get him.
Nick Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 That's obviously not what the club thought if we made contact. Quite:
Narborough_fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Not too bothered that we didn't get him but would have certainly added depth to the wide midfield area, especially right midfield. Hopefully NP and his team will have another player lined up as it's the one area that we really need to improve the depth in.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I don't believe for a second that we were seriously interested in signing him.
Devonfox1884 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 That's obviously not what the club thought if we made contact. Interesting, you'd assume he'd command a decent wage in the Championship. we already have 4 good central midfielder's. Why add his large wage to the wage bill??
SystonFox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 He scored a winner against Real Madrid at the bernabue in the champs league and we were in for him? Oh my!
21st Century Fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 we already have 4 good central midfielder's. Why add his large wage to the wage bill?? That's what I would assume to, but then the club obviously had a reason. They obviously think we do need him or they wouldn't want to take the financial gamble. Either they are confident enough of going up to risk it or they felt like throwing a spanner in the works for QPR.
ScouseFox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 He scored a winner against Real Madrid at the bernabue in the champs league and we were in for him? Oh my! Lloyd Dyer has scored against Real Madrid too.
Happy Fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 NP did allude to Rob Dorsett he only wanted to sign players good enough for the prem, so he obviously fits the bill exciting times for City!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I imagine staying in London was more attractive than coming up here.

They obviously think we do need him or they wouldn't want to take the financial gamble. Either they are confident enough of going up to risk it or they felt like throwing a spanner in the works for QPR. fair enough. Just doesn't seem like an NP signing, and drinkwater, james, hammond and king have done nothing wrong so don't IMO deserve to be replaced.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Are we talking about Benayoun or Benyanoon? Because David Pleat rates the latter a lot.
Devonfox1884 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Hmm. He might of been rather good coming off the bench or maybe for the odd cup game? not saying he isnt a good player, just dont think we need him IMO.
surrifox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 hopefully will prove a disruptive influence and a big ego in the team of all the talents from the dog shit end of West london
Asha Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Glad we didn't get him, we're doing well - why upset the balance with a mercenary on high wages?
Devonfox1884 Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Glad we didn't get him, we're doing well - why upset the balance with a mercenary on high wages? this.
Finn Claw II Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 QPR are our main threat so it is a blow that they are further strengthening. While we didn't get him hopefully it means 1) we have some budget in Jan and 2) NP is looking for a right sided midfielder which we need
