jdmoore Posted 3 December 2013 Share Posted 3 December 2013 Unless QPR have put in that statement about us apparently in for him just to disrupt our players? Think about it, we are top of the league and that's where they want to be, get our midfielders asking the question of why is Nige after players in a position we seem very strong in at the minute. Could have an effect on them and form drops because of it?

Cant believe having done all the hard work to get the wage bill down, the club would try and sign a player who would be on high wages and has hardly set the world on fire for the last couple of years. Would have jizzed over this sort of signing in the Sven era but deffo not now. It smells of some shitty mind games from QPR. Dont believe it for a second. deejdeej Posted 3 December 2013 Share Posted 3 December 2013 Developing a strong dislike for QPR. Not that I think we were in for Benayoun who I think is/was underrated. Really hope they bottle it.

Beliall Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 Glad we didn't get him, we're doing well - why upset the balance with a mercenary on high wages? this. we probably offered him less money. so he buggered off to qpr. sod him.

Nick Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 Maybe after the midfield performance at Wednesday we decided to pay the mercenary price. Hope so. At his age he'll be wanting a 2 year contract - hopefully Rangers aren't offering that? Speculation.... I'm dreaming.
Happy Fox Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 Do you know something we don't Happy Fox? No, Just hoping he comes he is the type of player that would add quality to the centre of midfield and is the playmaker ( Number10) we have been crying out for. indierich06 Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 He was a classy player, but he's past his sell-by-date IMO. He'd just be looking for a final pay day. How motivated is he really going to be to play for QPR or Leicester in the Championship? Quite glad we're not in for him to be honest.

Good point, I have not seen anything of him recently to make a fair judgement, but if he can get anywhere near his best form then he would be a class player in the Championship. Lambert09 Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 Would have been a great signing, a class above what most teams have at this level. Cant believe some people would turn their noses up to this signing... we have 2 wingers... IMO we desperately need another good quality player in this position, 4-3-3 with him, knocky and Vardy up top would be lethal
suffolk fox Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 So much for that story recently in the press about Qpr going belly up over Ffp and getting a huge fine which could bankrupt them? This is sticking two fingers up at FFP Qpr are going for broke this season promotion or bust.

Brooksy Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 I don't believe for a second that we were seriously interested in signing him. Agreed. Doesn't seem like the sort of player Pearson would go for.

Happy Fox Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 he is crap Ridiculous statement okay he isn't good enough for a top end prem club but he certainly will be good enough for us provided NP wants him he would really help us in our aim to get automatic promotion. If the hunger isn't there then it's an absolute waste of time regardless of ability, especially in a squad where the dressing room is a real strength of ours. Tielemans63 Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 Good player but I think his legs have gone a bit now - would have been pleased to see him here but not too fussed if we have missed our on him. I'd love to see us sign Jack Cork from Southampton either on loan or perm.

Ford Super Sunday Posted 5 December 2013 Share Posted 5 December 2013 Really would be interesting to see what we offered him and what QPR offered him Agent: "Yossi, QPR want you but they're only willing to pay you a measly £20,000 per week" Yossi: "Oh no! Is there anything you can do?" Agent: "I've got an idea...." Agent: "Tony, Leicester have just offered Yossi £21,000 per week. Now Yossi would love to play for you but he has to live doesn't he, so that extra money might make the difference, have a chat with Harry and get back to me" Tony: "No problem, I'll call you soon" Harry: "Alright Tone, what's this news on Yossi then." Tony: "Leicester have outbid us for him, they're offering him £21k according to his agent" Harry: "Well I need him Tone, I need him. My squad is devoid of quality and we're struggling up at the top. Offer him £90k per week, that should fend them off. It always worked at Portsmouth and Spurs!" Tony: "Will do Harry, you're the wheeler dealer about the place" Harry: "OI! I am not a wheeler dealer, fvck off." Tony: "Right I know Leicester came in with £21k, but we're going to offer Yossi £90k per week.... and if it tips the balance then I'll throw in a million bonus for you securing the deal" Agent: "I think we have ourselves a deal." Agent to Yossi: "You won't believe what I just did..."
