Best Film You've Ever seen

Following on from the worst films, what are the best flicks you've had the pleasure of watching?

For me, Stand by Me. Classic coming of age film.

Dumb and Dumber I never get tired of watching, comedy at its best.

American Beauty as well was a very good watch.

Best part where they hit each other with the walking sticks. :crylaugh:

Braveheart or Gladiator. No question.

If you take away the fact that it is shown once a week on Channel 5, then yes, good choice.

Mysterious Skin is a good film to watch. I gather (not being a massive film buff, merely a 'fan') that it is pretty 'underground' and dark, but its facccckin brilliant.

Atleast, I thought so.

Lock Stock and Two Smokin' Barrells. Best. Film. Ever.

I love you.

Stand by me is my fave film of all time I used to watch it everyday, sometimes I would get up early and watch it b4 school. Amazing film.

I have it on dvd but haven't watched it for years but I still could pretty much act it out word for word, the start just sets the film up beautifully and captures you right away:-

'I was twelve going on thirteen the first time I saw a dead human being. It happened in the summer of 1959—a long time ago. But only if you measure in terms of years.'

And ends:-

'I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?'

Just reminds me of friends you have growing up and how you really don't have freinds like that when you grow up. I grew up with the same group of frinds from primary school right through to 18 years old, then everyone seem to go off in seperate ways......I was lucky to have such a great childhood and miss it...a lot.

oh and even though I travel a bit these days I always take my framed stand by me poster where ever I go.

It is a fantastic film. It reminds me of my summer holidays 10 years ago, getting into mischief but havin a darn good time. There was a group of 5. We had such a riot, making things, breaking things, grazed knees. Dead pigeons. Good times. Good times.

If you like this film purpleronnie, try "The War" starring Elijah Wood (when he was young). Brilliant film too.

Proper tear jerker!

The Godfather part II

Isn't Stand by Me a Stephen King book?

Why would you ever choose part two over part one?

Unless of course you're just thinking of the Toilet Paper episode of South Park when Cartman takes Kyle out on teh lake in a boat to try and kill him with a wiffle bat

I don't care.

I'd enjoy it.

Well, we could take all the De Niro bits out of Part Two and Edit them into Part One, and call it "The Godfather Part One ALEXIKOKOKOPOPSMANWELLADOR EDITION!!! SHOES OFF IF YOU LOVE LEICESTER"

We'd be rich.
