Alexikokopops Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Well, we could take all the De Niro bits out of Part Two and Edit them into Part One, and call it "The Godfather Part One ALEXIKOKOKOPOPSMANWELLADOR EDITION!!! SHOES OFF IF YOU LOVE LEICESTER"We'd be rich. Definately. After you...
MikeyT Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Heat (De Niro and Pacino) Once Upon A Time In America The Deer Hunter Munich And could name quite a few more!
Jordan Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 A tie between Pulp Fiction and Z. The great Apocalypse Now has been mentioned a few times ... I've got Apocalypse Now Redux rented and will save that for the next rainy day.
Ric Flair Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Man On Fire The Hurricane City of God Dead Man's Shoes Nil By Mouth Shawshank Redemption The Departed Leon and a shit load of De Niro films.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 I watched Hard Candy a couple of nights ago though that was a decent film.
purpleronnie Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 It is a fantastic film. It reminds me of my summer holidays 10 years ago, getting into mischief but havin a darn good time. There was a group of 5. We had such a riot, making things, breaking things, grazed knees. Dead pigeons. Good times. Good times. If you like this film purpleronnie, try "The War" starring Elijah Wood (when he was young). Brilliant film too. Proper tear jerker! Haven't seen that one I'll check it out.
purpleronnie Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Why would you ever choose part two over part one?Unless of course you're just thinking of the Toilet Paper episode of South Park when Cartman takes Kyle out on teh lake in a boat to try and kill him with a wiffle bat Its actually one of the rare films where the sequel is superior. I prefer Goodfellas though.
LeeCovFox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 A bit cliched really, but for me its a toss up between the first two Godfather films, and the brilliant Schindler's List.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Actually i have changed my mind thinking about it some more my choice is- Big Trouble In Little China
StroudFox Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 One that stands out for is Magnolia. So many storylines runnng alongside each other and then Wham! Very Good.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Saving Private Ryan.Just brilliant really. I thought the story was a bit stupid. Have you seen 'Band of Brothers'? I know it's not a film but it's pretty much the same people responsible for it and I think that's outstanding, and a true story of course. One of the best things I've ever seen on the telly box

One of the best things I've ever seen on the telly box I haven't no but it does sound like something I should watch really. I'll have a look round on amazon/ebay to see what I can pick up.
General lee Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Forest Gump is excellent and Tom Hanks is such a brilliant actor.

The box set turns up in the HMV sale from time to time. It's usually between £15 and £20 but it's been as little as a tenner. Not bad for six discs

Dr The Singh Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Get the Band of Brothers Book, Saving Private Ryan is based on an incident that happened to members of Easy Company £60 I paid when it first come out Most of these so called 'based on a true stroy' are mildly based by the way!!
Fat Ron Posted 9 April 2008 Posted 9 April 2008 Most of these so called 'based on a true stroy' are mildly based by the way!! Yeah, it was only mildly based on an actual incident but the Film would have been far less dramatic if they had just found the bloke and put him on a plane.
