Daggers Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 The idea that we would plan for promotion by getting rid of everyone is non-sensical. Unless players have opt-out clauses or are very high wage earners then I can't see them going - Mattock and Stearman will be going nowhere, or any other young talents.
Mort Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Who would want to sign DJ Campbell ??? More than you could find who'd be interested in any other striker on our books...
Matt Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I've been thinking no matter what manager, no matter what players we have been like this for a good 4 years maybe nearing 5, which suggests its something internal but Milan has came into the club and changed alot inside the club aswell so thats not even the reason. So the only reason I have though of is that these players we have are "poisoned", we buy or loan a player who has had a fairly decent career and reputation, he comes to Leicester and suddenly becomes shite, how do you explain it? Well I say we have a group of players a Leicester City who have been poisoned and we keep signing player after player and they then get poisoned by the mentality of the current players. Its abit of a pathetic theory but the only theory I can think up. Its gonna be hard, Its gonna be a long process, but I say we have to get rid of every single player and rebuild from scratch, and not just quick fixes, not just a rush buy, we need to think carefully about who we need to buy, and we need to think quality not quantity. That is the only way I think and see how we can move forward, and it may be a case of we need to take a few steps back in order to move forward, which at the time may be a tough pill to swallow but in the long term the only way forward.
Uncle Monty Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I think the best thing for us now is if we go down. It would probably put a few people in their respective places.

I didn't necessarily mean we would get rid, more like some would want to leave. If we had a decent offer for Mattock and Stearman from a team in a higher division then I don't think it would be fair to stand in their way. Similarly with Kisnorbo and McAuley, they could both get a move to a good championship side.
Cat Burger Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I think yesterday says it all in terms of player loyalty, it'll be like our last relegation from the Premiership, there'll be a massive rebuild on again.
Maybes Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I think the best thing for us now is if we go down. It would probably put a few people in their respective places. It will probably takes us years to get back out of league one.
Daggers Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Kisnorbo and McAuley, they could both get a move to a good championship side. Well, they got a job with a shite one so I guess you're right there.
Tevez Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Am I the only person who thinks Kisnorbo and McAuley are slightly over-rated?

Samilktray Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Am I the only person who thinks Kisnorbo and McAuley are slightly over-rated? Far from it.
teblin Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I can't see the likes of clemance, oakley, howard, hendrie staying if we go down.
SamL Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Am I the only person who thinks Kisnorbo and McAuley are slightly over-rated? Nope. The players have publicly come out and said that they don't want to be in this position, but it's partly their fault. If they really meant what they said they'd stay and put it right, but I can't see it happening. I can see the likes of Howard, Oakley, Mattock and Hendrie going, along with a few more. If Clemence has got a shred of respect he'll stay due to the fact that he's captained a team that could get relegated to the third division for the 1st time in their history.
filbertboy Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 I can't see the likes of clemance, oakley, howard, hendrie staying if we go down. If we go down and should we wish to kep them then .....half their wages as I have spent half of mine following them !!
backinthebigtime Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Never mind who we think we should keep, what really gets my back up is that when any club gets relegated or indeed underperforms several of the players come out with crap like " i want to be playing in this or that division" "Im a better player than being expected to play in div 1"...well if that was the case you wouldnt have got your team in that position in the first place. Unfortunatly being a footballer seems to remove all logic and any sense of responsibility from their minds. A memebr of staff at the ground told me yesterday that both Stears and Mattock are off at the end of the season , possibly to our friend in the West Mids who play in claret and blue.
Narborough Bod Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Am I the only person who thinks Kisnorbo and McAuley are slightly over-rated? 1)
Narborough Bod Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Am I the only person who thinks Kisnorbo and McAuley are slightly over-rated? 1) Kisnorbo was facing the wrong way when he was beaten by Lisbie for the header yesterday. 2) it is ok moaning about poor refereeing decisions, but if he didn't get caught square footed and put himself in a poor position, then the option of being sent off would never present itself. Prevention, not cure. If one of our strikers had gone down under a 'challenge' in the same way that Sharp did last week, then everyone in the ground would have baying for blood!! So to answer your question, no you're not.

Father Ted Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Am I the only person who thinks Kisnorbo and McAuley are slightly over-rated? For Kisnorbo - Definitely - he is poor. Mcauley - He is one of those players, blows hot and cold. Less for Mcauley.
