Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 3-1 City I reckon. The St.Kitts international will score for them, purely for the fact that he looked like Paul Parker on the cover of the Mercury.
Lillehamring Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 as far as i see it, the quality of the performance is key today... the players really need to show that the last game was just a blip of indifference (great name for a band!) - pull their socks and play with some spirit. and to be honest, if they do put in even an ok performance this should be a won game. so, i don't care to predict the score, i just want to see some spirit and commitment, even if the standard isn't so high, they have to play this like it is a cup final, certainly Stevenage will be doing so.
Darkzzz_ Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Agree with Valerenga, the performance is key for me also.
leicester ghost Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 the magic of the fa cup.................. looking at the stevenage website, they've been getting pretty excited. fryatt,hayles,howard,.....go easy on them, stick a couple wide,............... leicester 2 stevenage 0.
Thracian Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 I'm fairly sure the anger of Pearson from the midweek embarrassment against Rotherham will be evident today in the way of a much improved performance and a hoped-for victory, probably by a couple of goals. If not then it will either be because we've opted out of everything bar the League promotion chase or because Pearson has stopped being able to get a response which would be pretty serious for our aspirations. I'd imagine Paul Dickov will be back on the bench at least and if Chambers or DJ are available - though I think it will be too early for DJ - that will give the manager more options than he has had of late, what with Gradel being presumably back in contention. Unfortunately, it is not the attacking side that bothers me. It is our non-footballing back line. Any team is only as good as it's most glaring weakness and this is ours. If you win the ball at the back but then constantly give it away you limit the chances of the forwards doing anything. Somehow, Pearson has to solve the problem.
NewquayFox Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 I reckon this will be City`s biggest win for years,I was at the Burton & Leatherhead games also unfortunately the Harlow game too. The FA cup always conjurs up some `MAGIC` and today is going to be one of those days for City, Fryatt to score a bagful. ;0)
filbertway Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 As long as we win by more than 1 goal I'm happy.
Jonezy Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 KOM SÅ LEICESTER!!! Historic day, make it a decent one please.......
lavrentis Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 I'm going to go for a 4-1. Stevenage score first, but then we get one, then two, then don't stop scoring.
davieG Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Manager Nigel Pearson has handed new signing Marc Edworthy his first start in a Leicester City shirt for this afternoon's FA Cup first round clash against Stevenage Borough at the Walkers Stadium. The 35-year-old put pen-to-paper on a short term deal only yesterday (Friday) and has done enough in training to warrant a starting berth. Pearson makes four other changes from the side that started the 2-0 defeat at Rotherham United in the quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek. Aleksandar Tunchev, Joe Mattock, Bruno Berner and Matty Fryatt replace Michael Morrison, Chris Powell, Nicky Adams and Barry Hayles respectively. City: Henderson, Edworthy, Kisnorbo, Tunchev, Mattock, Berner, Oakley ©, King A, Dyer, Howard, Fryatt. Subs: Campbell, Morrison, Adams, Hayles, Gradel, Martin, Dickov Borough: Day, Bostwick, Albrighton, Henry, Anaclet, Wilson, Mills, Drury, McMahon, Vincenti, Morison © Subs: Oliver, Cole, Bayes, Laird, Thomas, Willock, Martin Referee: Darren Drysdale (Lincolnshire)
Koke Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Strong team. Pearson isn't taking them lightly after all. We gotta thing about Yeovil on Tuesday as well though.
Steven Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 As this is an FA cup match you can listen to live commentary on the BBC website - http://bbc.co.uk/leicester
davieG Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Henderson Edworthy, Kisnorbo, Tunchev, MattockBerner, Oakley ©, King A, Dyer, Howard, Fryatt.Presumable Berners playing on the right - a square peg in a round hole, or Dyers moving to the right with Berner/Mattock left midfield.
Jonezy Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Why aren't we resting some of our regular starters..... They better take this seriously now.
demon_dog Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 Kisnorbo off, Morrison on. We may win it now!
Lillehamring Posted 8 November 2008 Posted 8 November 2008 looks like we're getting into it a bit now - passing it around a bit
