sphericalfox Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 DavieG, you're supposed to build up to a thread like this one. Y'know there's a thread coming soon, that's going to be MASSSSSSSIVVVE!!!!!

gurkbasurken Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Welcome to Stockholm for a tournament against my first team Hammarby IF this summer! Italian Brescia and spain Mallorca is gonna be on as well. http://www.sponsorworld.com/Default.asp?pId=801&modVID=102&modID=1497 The information is not confirmed yet, but Monday there will be a pressconference with Sven-Göran here in Stockholm. Probably the tournament will be played at our homefield Söderstadion, in the southside of Stockholm. Keep in touch with me for anything you want to know about Hammarby, Söderstadion or Stockholm in common. I'm a huge Hammarby supporter, and Leicester is my british team since I saw them as a kid in the 80s here in Sweden.
dave_the_fox Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Hammarby!? I am sure the FM legend Kennedy Bakircoglu (sp!?) came from there?!
gurkbasurken Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Hammarby!? I am sure the FM legend Kennedy Bakircoglu (sp!?) came from there?! Yeah that's correct! Kennedy is a legend in Hammarby. As well as the former LCFC-player Patrik Gerrbrand, who is now back in Hammarby again. Other famous Hammarby players in the history that you might know of Lennart "Nacka" Skoglund and Ronnie Hellström. Or in the 2000s: Charlie Davies, Alexander Östlund, Petur Marteinson, Petter Andersson and Richard Kingson.
Guest Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Don't know any of those players but some great Progresive Rock comes out of Stockholm. Perhaps the best music in the world at the moment. Sweden isn't only Death metal.

Sweden isn't only Death metal. Haha, why should it be all death metal? Sweden has a fantastic music scene. I am a DJ myself and plays a lot of swedish pop and rock bands.

davieG Posted 10 May 2011 Author Posted 10 May 2011 Academy Summer Tournament - http://www.southendu...06/index.shtml? Wolverhampton Wanderers will join Leicester City and Norwich City and face Southend United's Under-18 side in their annual summer tournament. It's going to be colourful, as well as interesting, as over the weekend of July 23rd and 24th, Ricky Duncan's Southend United Under-18 side will face the Premiership and Championship academy youth teams of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and with their seniors just promoted to the top tier, Norwich City. It's been known as the Toomey Cup in the past with Everton and West Ham as previous winners as the young Shrimpers have even matched and beaten the mighty Arsenal Under-18's. Now known as the, er, Youth Cup, I think Uncle Ron would appreciate a sponsor, the tournament will take the usual format of two semi-finals on the Saturday, with a third & fourth placed play-off followed by the final on the Sunday. The club will announce ticket prices nearer the time but it's always a great value with plenty of decent footy played.
