  1. Not sure what's going on here. Its almost like we were more intent on trying to stop them getting extra bowling points than trying to get extra batting points. I mean how did we not get the 400 bonus point, which we only needed to go at 3 an over to get! Now we are going no where and losing wickets for next to nothing and have handed the initiative back to Derby, Oh and Kimber needs binning! To think that both Cox and Scriven are out of the team, while he takes up one of their places is an absolute joke decision.
  2. We need to enjoy watching Monga this season, because he won't be here any longer than this season. He will have queue of clubs to choose from.
  3. I was thinking the same. Some of those that wanted Rohl so badly, are now underwhelmed by Cifuentes, when actually they've both achieved pretty much the same, with clubs in a similar situation when they took over. For anyone for who this season is all about getting promoted, and anything else seen as failure, then Dyche was the manager that gave the club the best chance of that, He also probably gave the club the best chance of staying up once they got there too, but I myself didn't really want Dyche because I didn't feel he would give our young talent a chance, and that's the route I'm hoping we re going to take now. I've got to a point with the club now, for the first time in my 50 odd years of being a supporter, where I'm so apathetic to the club and football in general, that I feel like it is what it is, and it will be what it will be, and I hate that I feel like that. I still love the club, I still remember what it's like to love football, but modern football, with all the tippy tippy go nowhere football, all the crap to do with what you are and are not allowed to spend, and the absolute shiteshow in which our club has been run in recent seasons, not just their decision making on and off of the pitch, but more importantly, their complete disregard to engage and communicate with fans, and make us feel like we as fans make a difference, and are an important part of the club. I don't feel like the club currently see me as a fan, more as a consumer who they don't care about, but who they can get money from. It's all feels so sad to me, that after so many years of being there through all the highs and lows of supporting my club, that I've become so apathetic to it!
  4. Utter shambles. Lost 2 wickets and only got 188 which should have been more like 210-220 at least.. Then had them needing 12 an over, and some brain dead captaincy with the bowling options, let them get back into the game again. How did Scriven only bowl 2 overs when he had been our most economical bowler. We can kiss goodbye to making it to the knock out stage in the 20-20 now. An absolutely shocking week for the County!
  5. Do you remember when PSR was being referred too as financial fair play? Presumably someone realised that actually it's not fair and nothing to do with being fair, and so now it's all about PSR. I've got to a point where I don't give a toss, the whole thing is a joke, and taking football away from the fans, and off of the pitch. That said, we as a club knew about these farcical rules and breached them, and given that they have handed out points deductions to other clubs, then of course they will want to come after us, and seem to be doing the "fair" thing, and of course saving face, after we found someone who could make them look like the fools they are. Basically who cares anymore, it will be what it will be.
  6. Radio leicester last night said, that indeed the county will be voting in favour, regardless of what members opinions may be. Supposedly two first divisions of six, so we would be promoted, and a division 2 of six. I assume each county will play each county from their own division twice, without any cross division games, but not sure about that. That would mean cutting the games down to ten from fourteen. The two winners of each division then playing in a final, probably at Lords in September. Which of course means that no County other than Middlesex could ever actually win the Championship at home.
  7. If Dyche comes in, I will be very surprised if he plays the likes of Monga and Evans. He may give Alves a go with him being a little older, but I can't see Dyche going down the road of playing the youngsters. He will want championship experience, physicality and lots of it. A million miles away from Tops apparent obsession with playing the Pep way too.
  8. That's me, Naive! I should just take your view as the correct view. How silly of me.
  9. If it is Rohl who comes in, then I'm not against it, I was just trying to get some sort of insight from others, as to their reasons for being so keen on him, and now a number of you have given me that, so I thank those that have, its been of interest to me. As with all new managerial appointments it will be a gamble, if he does come in, but fingers crossed who ever comes in, is able to turn the shiteshow that the club has become around, on the pitch at least. I have a horrible feeling that the Shiteshow off the pitch is just going to continue though sadly.
  10. There isn't anything I have against Rohl as such. I was just trying to work out what it was that others are seeing in him that I haven't been. I've just looked at him as doing a decent job under difficult circumstances. Nothing more than that. I cant say I've been blown away on the very few occasions I've seen his Sheff Wednesday team play, but obviously he can only work with the quality of player he has at his disposal, so he may well be able to get more out of a better quality squad. If he does take over here, then of course, as with all new managers, time and reults will tell, and indeed, Enzo had less experience, and a poorer record than Rohl, when he took over, and although I personally found his football mind blowingly boring at times, no one can say he wasn't a success, so hopefully if Rohl does indeed take over, he will be as successful.
  11. Which is why I asked the question about "am I missing something". I just don't see what the hype is about him. Someone mentioned about "How dare he not have a list of 10 previous management jobs", but that's the point. He has very little experience to judge him from in terms of being a manager, which is very different from being a coach. From the managerial experience he has had with Sheff Wednesday, which is all we can judge him on , he has been alright, but no more. Yet from what I read on here, it's like he should be our number one target, but simply on the basis that he has kept Sheff Wednesday up. This seemingly in spite of other championship clubs this summer replacing their manager, and yet shying away of taking a chance of Rohl themselves. Maybe he is the second coming, and if he comes here, then of course I hope he is, but ive just not seen what others seem to have seen from him. So far no one has given a reason as to what he would bring to the club, other than he saved another club that is also a basket case of a club from relegation.
  12. So am i right, he has manged one club in his career, Sheff Wednesday, and his claim to fame is he has kept them up, in what is a weak and shite division. In the mean time, Norwich have recently appointed Liam Manning, and Middlesbrough, having got rid of Carrick, decided to go for Rob Edwards who had took Luton down, both were linked with Rohl, but both went somewhere else. Hull City have gone for Jakirovic after getting rid of Ruben Selles, and Sheff United have opted for Selles. I know that Sheff Wednesday will want compo to get him out of the club, but certainly Boro, Norwich and Sheff United, will have all been able to pay that compo if they had deemed him good enough. To be fair, i suppose this where we are at now, at a point where just a statistically average manager is seen at a great fit for us now. It`s all so very sad.
  13. Am I missing something with Danny Rohl? He's hardly ripped it up at Sheff Wednesday has he? Yet he seems to be the name that most would be happy with.
  14. Fair throw that. Didn't see that on the TV coverage. Previous games, certainly against Liverpool, and I think Southampton, his foot was clearly over the line. Maybe someone has made him aware, and he's sorted it out, which is what should have happened.
  15. You can't tell from the TV footage of yesterday's game to be fair, cos the pictures are too far away, but from games at our ground, it has been very noticeable that his foot hasn't been touching the line, and has been well over. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that unless he is made aware of it, then at some point he will be pulled up for it.
  16. Although at some point the linesman/woman is going to notice that every long throw he takes, he has a foot over the line and is a foul throw. He has done well since getting back in the team, he's a proper trier, and I think will be fine next season in the championship, but he does lack quality, and he isn't the longer tern answer for us at left back in my opinion.
  17. A question that i first heard asked in an evening home game against Cambridge United, at the start of the 1979/80 season. My brothers mate had family from Los Angeles over, and the two young children were especially excited to be able to go to their first "Soccer match" in England. Now normally we would be in the Kop, but it was felt that being seated in the East Stand would be better on this occasion, with having the young kids and their parents with them. So anyway, we were there quite early, and the two young boys seemed to be transfixed on looking at the kop as it filled up, and this was back in the day before concourse`s, and as the kop filled up, and the nearer to kick off time it got, and of course more of the fans that had been on the piss turned up, some songs were sung, and the boys were loving it. Then the teams come out, game kicks off, and yet the boys are still watching the kop, and have little interest in the game. After about 5 minutes or so, the eldest of the two boys pipes up, "When does the fighting start"? My brothers mate asked what he meant, and he said, that he had heard back in the Staes that there was always fights at the "Soccer games" in England, at which point it was pointed out to him, that, that wasn`t the case, and that this was only Cambridge, and it was highly unlikely that there would be any fighting that night.
  18. He was out for months with an injury wasn't he, and was doing well before his injury, and come back from that and been solid again. Alves I'm a little more on the fence with. I've watched him for Cardiff every chance I've had since he's been there, and while he certainly has shown flashes of ability, I can't honestly say that I've been totally won over that he's going to be a game changer for us in the coming seasons. What I will say though, is that it hasn't helped having had no game time all this season, until his loan started, and then being in an absolutely atrocious Cardiff side.
  19. Thought Aideed, Page and Carr looked half decent. The rest a bit meh! Defence all over the place, almost as if Faes has been coaching them.
  20. Did I dream it, or didn't RVN say in his press conference something about really seeing a difference in Monga since Monday night. That he had stepped up a level, and was looking really good, or words to that affect. If so, then unless he is injured, then I'm not sure I can understand how he's not even made the bench. Good to see Aluko and Evans on the bench though.
  21. The manager isn't even trying, he has totally gave up even pretending now.
  22. This is the case. When I was a kid, long ago, and didn't go to away games, my dad would sometimes take me to the reserve game at filbert Street, on the Saturday afternoon while the first team were playing away.
  23. Which is whats wrong with the players of today, and in particular our over pampered squad of players.
  24. He would give them both barrels when they were doing well, just to keep their standards up.
