  1. Can you imagine! Thier feet wouldn`t touch the floor as he booted them out the club!
  2. I remember being in a relegation battle in the old division 2 under Jock Wallace, with an ageing poor squad assembled by the disaster that was Frank McClintock. Then New year's day he throws in 16 year old Dave Buchanon, 17 year old Gary Lineker and the following game 17 year old Andy Peake. He kept the likes of Eddie Kelly in the team, who thrived in the responsibility of helping the kids, and we stayed up. Then was promoted the following season with a very young team. I wouldn't expect us to stop up by throwing 2 or 3 of the kids into this team, but I honestly don't think they could do any worse, and it would be giving them some first team experience for next season, because right now the club is full of players who don't care, and the club is losing the fans to total apathy.
  3. Very true, and I suspect that our hierarchy would have out right lied to him about backing him, just as they did with Rodgers pre relegation season, Enzo pre January last season, and RVN pre this January. Emery would then have walked, but probably done enough to keep us up in the short time he would have been here. So we would still have had a mountain of problems in fairness, and maybe just delayed the inevitable.
  4. If we had sacked Rodgers at the point we should have, instead of letting him have 28 games, we could have had Unai Emery, or Ariola. At that point we still had a squad that had been competing for top 4, only 2 and 3 seasons earlier, who had been left rudderless by mismanagement from Rodgers and from those running the club. We were still an attractive proposition on paper, and both would have come here in my opinion, and would have at least kept us up, and in a stronger position pitch wise going forward. Once again it was incompetence of the highest order, that those running the club left it so late, we ended up with Dean Smith! Fast forward to the poor appointment in the summer of Steve Cooper, and shocking recruitment, and we were screwed before a ball was kicked. RVN was always going to be a gamble, especially given the lack of quality in the squad, and his inexperience in management, especially one where the squad was so poor. Once here though, his team selections, his substitutions, and lack of willingness to try something different, has shown him to be a gamble that didn't work. Where do we go from here I don't know. The romantic in me says we throw 2 or 3 of our best young prospects in, much as Jock Wallace done with Lineker, Buchannon and Andy Peake, but the reality is, that's not going to happen. The obvious thing is we bin RVN and bring in Dyche, in preparation for next season, but I don't think it would be a popular appointment either.
  5. Doesn't really seem to be much difference between the hierarchy at the club and those running the foxes Trust. If they are born to secrecy and can not inform their members of what was asked and said in meetings with the club, then what is the point of being a member of the foxes trust. It just becomes an extension of the clubs hierarchy, and not truly giving back to their membership what would be expected. For too many years now, there has been far too much cosying up to the hierarchy of the club from the Ginetta run supporters club and the foxes Trust. What the fans want and need is a group that will challenge the club and insist that the club becomes far more transparent and open with their fans, even if that means ruffling a few feathers and upsetting them. What the fans currently have as I said earlier is a group that are basically yes men, which is exactly how the club want it.
  6. Sadly we will never see him as a leicester City first team player. Much like Nyoni who went Liverpool, he won't even be associated with Leicester if/when he starts making a name for himself within the media or fan bases. There was a Liverpool fan on Talk shite the other week, going about this super talent Nyoni who is going to be a star of the future, and how it just goes to show what a great academy they have, and how they are not just reliant on buying players, they make their own too. I'm pretty sure he hadn't got a scooby that they had took him from Leicester, and the guy presenting the show clearly hadn't either. It will be the same with Monga. The real injustice is though, is that in the longer term, there is a decent chance that we will be losing out on millions of pounds in a transfer, despite us being the club that nurtured them.
  7. The linesman was on a Maguires side of the pitch though, so looking straight at him. I know because 5 minutes earlier the same linesman had given a throw in to them, when it was clearly our throw, and the ref rightly overturned it, and gave it to us. The linesman was on that side of the pitch, and it was straight in front of him. I dont have a scooby how he thought it was their throw. He was the same linesman who didnt spot that Maguire and three of his hoppos were offside. Ultimately, it was incompetant officiating, but rather that than VAR! Ive always been much happier with some go for you, some dont, when it was just the ref and linesmans decision. I hate VAR, its one of the many things that is sucking the life out of football, so im not going to harp on about it. For me it was just one that went against us. We move on.
  8. His in game management is absolutely shite!! He doesn't have a scooby! A complete shambles from top to bottom! We're doomed!
  9. As an old git who has gone down the City since the seventies, loads of songs have been sung that bear no relation to how shite we are at the time or with any real meaning or truth. There really isn't any point in taking them seriously. They are just songs, they don't mean anything literally. I mean I'm sure Barcelona Real Madrid could have made a mighty bid, at pretty much anytime in our history, , and despite our song saying otherwise, they would indeed have beaten the Leicester. Just as singing, Forest sing I don't know why, cos after the match they're gonna die, really didn't mean there was the intention of anyone killing anyone after the game.
  10. Absolutely right, but it's also about picking the players that give you the best chance of winning, and getting the very best out of the players he has, even though they may be lacking in real quality, and he isn't doing either in my opinion.
  11. He could be like a prime Roberto Carlos, but he ain't going to be anywhere near enough to stop this shower conceding goals, or keep us up!
  12. Time will tell how good he is or isn't I suppose. As I said, he probably needs to move in order to prove himself.
  13. This has been such a waste of a season for Alves! He has hardly even played any football for the under 21s, because he has been training with a first team squad, that for the most part, he hasnt even made the bench for, and then when he has, has hardly been given any minutes to make an impression. Certainly if I was Alves, I would seriously be looking to move on now, because if he is not injured today, and he can't even make the bench for this game, then he has next to no chance of playing again this season, and is clear that he isn't deemed as good enough. Time for him to find a club that want to use him, and for him to try and prove himself somewhere else.
  14. Send him quickly to Thailand, to promote the club to the masses, so he is on club buisness. Give him lots of free reign to do as he wants, and set up a camera in his hotel room. All being well he takes the bait, and we get to bomb him out on the pretext that he has sulied the good name of Leicester City.
  15. What he actually said was that the club had projected that they would breach, but that was before the KDH sale and the Enzo compo, so we may be alright, but he still thinks we are most likely to have breached, but he actually doesn't really have a scooby! Got him an appearance on Talk shite though, so good for him. One thing he did say that was correct though, is that there will be no good will from the premier league if we have breached, as they will come after us.
  16. I used to watch the women, clearly still have an interest, which is why I'm here, but I just can't bring myself to watch them now, after seeing then under this manager. So poor and boring.
  17. Early days I know, but I'd be interested to know what you've seen from the new manager to believe she's still the right appointment. I'm just seeing someone who is ultra negative in her set up, and with a negative mindset. We are far better than what we are showing under this manager, and i feel that the players are being held back from playing their natural game, in order to conform with the managers negative structure and way of playing. I hope she proves me wrong, but I'm not seeing anything so far, to suggest she will do.
  18. Dropped off massively since Kirk. We know they are better than they are showing, we've seen it, but most of the players are a shadow of their former selves. Not helped by the club, who let the Kirk saga drag on for so long without inevitably dismissing him. That it dragged on was maybe out of their control, but they should certainly have been looking for someone to come in as a replacement knowing they were going to have to sack him at the end of it. Instead of that they were happy to let the season fizzle out under the cloud that had been hanging over them. I know little of the manager they have appointed this season, but she seems to have that caution is best philosophy, and it's stifling the players. Her team selections are baffling too. Yes Leitzig made a fantastic save that have us a point, and yes she probably almost single handedly kept us in the division for 2 seasons, but for me, kop is the better keeper. Better with her feet, equally if not better at shot stopping, and better dealing with crosses. Cayman should be starting, and arguably Rose should be starting ahead of Goodwin. I know we are short of strikers, but playing with Ruby Mace as a striker made no sense, then bringing on Pelgander who can't run, to play up front made even less sense. The transfer recruitment in the summer, of which I'm assuming the manager had a big say in, is also looking decidedly poor, and this looks like a very long season ahead for the ladies. Getting Rantala back is essential, also O'Brien should help a bit when back, and if we can get Hannh Cain back to hiw she was before her injury, will also improve us. We need Petermann back, or Draper to be given a chance when she's back, because Mouchon looks about as good and as interested as Soumare in our men's side. Early days, but there are certainly concerns, especially with the manager!
  19. Shocking, worst I've seen them in a long time. Not sure why Kop has been dropped, she is the far better all round keeper. They all seem off it today though, almost like they thought all they had to do is turn up. Credit to Palace though, who despite their lack of quality, have shown a passion and desire, that our girls have been sadly lacking in. Changes should be made at half time, but the manager could literally take any of them off, and they couldn't complain, they have been that poor.
  20. I've seen enough in our positive spells, to suggest that this group of players might just about be good enough to stay up. Unfortunately from what I've witnessed from the manager up to now, in terms of team selections, tactics, in game management, and substitutions, we won't be staying up if he stays in charge for too long.
  21. The guy has no idea. Can't pick a team, his substitutions and in game management is useless, he seemingly can't motivate players into giving a crap. He seems to have a system or structure that he wants to use, but it just looks a mess, and doesn't work, and I dont think the players believe in it either, which makes it worse. He has to go, while we still have some chance of staying up, because I've seen enough now to know we ain't staying up with him in charge.
  22. But plays "I have zero interest in being here Soumare". Incredible!
  23. The funny thing is, although I didn't want Cooper as manager, the one thing I thought he would have as a plus, is that he would give one or two of our talented youngsters some pitch time in the first team, and would have at least one had one on the bench each game, but he seems to have absolutely no interest in our younger players. If someone can tell me how Soumare, who has zero interest in being here, can get on the bench in front of Alves, who will be wanting to play and make his mark, then i would be very interested on the reasoning. Alves is now basically spending his time training, and hoping to get a spot on the bench for a league cup game, when if Cooper had no interest in giving him a chance, he should have been loaned out, and playing league games somewhere. I would be fuming if I was Alves. What a waste of a talent, at least until January.
  24. I also think the reason he hasn't been playing Mavadidi is again because he wants Kristiansen to be bombing on, and his "wide" player to come inside and make the extra man in field, which again is a big change from last season, when our wide players hugged the touch line on both sides to stretch the pitch. Mavadidi has done well when coming on though, so given Cooper something to think about, but i doubt he will change too much. Possibly he might play Mavadidi, drop Kristiansen, and move Justin to the left, and have him do what hes currently doing on the right,, drop Fatawu and play Ricardo and ask him to bomb on, on the right. Again, I want to see both Mavadidi and Fatawu playing, but I'm not convinced that Cooper is going to do that at the moment
