Southampton broke the Premier League record on Saturday I believe with 5 double barreled surnames in one starting XI: Walker-Peters Bella-Kothcap Caleta-Car Ward-Prowse Maitland-Niles

Absolutely nothing has changed from last season really, granted they are keeping the ball a bit better but it’s just possession for possessions sake as there’s absolutely nothing going forwards with any purpose. They don’t look like scoring and have very few shots on target. The goal keeper and defensive is still pretty much the same that leaked all those goals last season, the midfield cannot keep the ball and the strikers just don’t ever look like scoring or get the opportunity to. The signings apart from Josie Green haven’t really improved the first team IMO, Jones has some nice touches but like most of them lacks any real pace to get away from anybody.

Would be hilarious if he didn't get selected for the World Cup for actually playing How he made it to Wales No1 by just sitting on our bench ill never know...

A lot more competitive but can’t see how anything from last season changes. Basically the same keeper and defence who leaked all the goals last season and absolutely nothing upfront. Green & Whelan look decent additions, Jones was tidy but there’s absolutely no pace and still nobody who looks particularly comfortable with the ball at their feet.

Every game has the same pattern. Get ahead, concede instantly and then just completly fall apart conceding poor goals from corners or individual errors, in particularly after the restart. The team is so weak mentally and that all comes from the manager who is just the same. (Negative subs in games we are winning or still no substitutes after 70 odd minutes when behind). Jonny Evans is absolutely not the leader we need either, all he does is throw his arms around all game whilst absolutely killing Ndidi with suicide passes, he should recognise he can’t deal with them and take it upon himself to stop giving him the ball!

Dean Hammond, Taylor-Fletcher and Kevin Phillips also contributed massively when needed with their experience. As others have said already, I loved that squad, it was so perfectly balanced.

Has there been any more news if we were granted 5 years as opposed to 3 for how long the plans are valid for? I wonder when we will realistically start this with the appeal process apparently taking around 6 weeks.

Strange comments from Rodgers about why he was dropped against United, something along the lines of we have conceded too many goals, maybe he got the blame / a bollocking for Sterling’s opener? I wouldn’t worry too much though, he was due to start vs Villa so I’m sure he’ll be back this weekend.

Feels like the end is near for Rodgers, listening to bits of his press conference today he sounds so negative / downbeat / defeatist. Rodgers has played a blinder by getting all the media on his side and feeling sorry for him, when this is all his mess! When he took over we already had Kasper, Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Ndidi, Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes, Vardy & only Fofana, Justin & Castagne start from the players he’s signed in around 3 and a half years! He’s bloated our squad with crap signings on big wages like Praet, Perez, Vestergaard, Bertrand, Soumoure who we can’t shift and that’s the reason why we can’t sign anyone, nothing to do with him not being backed like the media kept portraying. I’ll be honest, I think the club are reluctant to back him. We put a lot of trust in him and let him come away from our model that worked so well over the years by bring in all his own men like Congerton who’s been bombed already, his own medicine man who’s been bombed already + all his signings in which a majority have been a disaster. He’s only ever said good things about the club, the board but he’s started having little digs recently which tells me there has been a breakdown somewhere. His negativity and defeatist attitude is already rubbing off on the fans and it’s showing in our play on the pitch too.

Frightening to think we have the potential to make over 200 million in sales on just Maguire, Chillwell & Fofana with absolutely very little to show for it. Kasper has gone. Ricardo, Evans, Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes & Vardy we’re already here Only Castagne & Justin are new additions to our ‘first XI’ since Maguire left! Granted Fofana was brought in using some of that money but we really do need to spend this Fofana sale cash wisely and actually improve our first XI!
