  1. That would have been awkward if Cooper had stayed 😂
  2. Those wanting Moyes. It will be the same football we play under him! I'm hoping we go for someone like Ruud or Potter!
  3. All round Kane and Rooney were better players. What Vardy does is give you something totally different, he's relentless, he's a great finisher and on the shoulder there is no one better with those runs. He also has the ability to drag teams through games single handedly. His goal was the catalyst for our great escape against West Brom, his start of the season form was the momentum we needed for our prem win, his goals were critical for our CL run, he turned up again in the first few seasons under Rodgers when we should have got CL. All in all, he's been our most consistent player in the big games which you could argue Kane and Rooney haven't consistently done when it really matters.
  4. Just because of the timing of it. Like with Brendan, the timing of sacking him came at the wrong time before we had two or three relegation six pointers. If we got rid of him after United and with an international break for any manager to work with the players, it would have made more sense imo.
  5. I'd give him a few more games. Needs to get a minimum of 7 points from the next 5. Anything less and we should get rid!!
  6. When Jason Derulo backs us 🙃
  7. Mads Ricardo. JJ. Vesty. Faes. Fatawu Ndidi. Winks Ayew. Buanotte Vardy
  8. Key thing for me is we haven't lost to anyone below us, beat one and one still to play. We will need to nick a few results from some of the tougher games we have to play. But we've accumulated a decent number of points so far.
  9. Like the team. Cooper is trying to change things to fix our leaky defence so can't fault him there for the changes and a very attacking line up for a game we should be going for.
  10. I'm not saying he's perfect but I do feel his style of football he plays gives us the best chance of surviving. His interviews are a bit odd but I can excuse him for that when he's delivering. Yes we have conceded from the right hand side far too many but do we lose attacking players trying to plug that hole. Ayew would protect that side well, but we lose something going forward, so it's a balancing act.
  11. Apart from maybe a couple of teams, we do not have the same quality as the opposition we are facing. 10/11 points after 8 games would be ambitious, so to rack up 9 points is a good return which will see us comfortably survive if we replicate that. We all need a dose of reality. We aren't the same Leicester city that we were or will it be the same as last season. We're not going to dominate games, we will have to ride our luck and take the chances we have. This season is all about just surviving. We can't run before we can walk.
  12. After 8 games, 2 wins, 3 draws and 3 loses. A good start. We've not been battered by anyone and been in every single game we've played. We've scored in every game too. It might not be pretty, we live on the edge at times but you can't deny it's effective. Cooper is doing great with the squad he has at his disposal and we can't ask for much more than what he has delivered so far.
  13. Dewsbury Hall, Kelechi, Praet, Albrighton have not really been replaced. You're right that even if we had replaced those players then we'd still not be playing attacking football, but we're simply not the same team nor have the quality of two or three seasons ago. I'm not saying we should expect to get battered. I'm saying that we need to be pragmatic and accept we will be 'on paper', second best in the majority of games this season. I get that we all want to see attacking football but we have got results in 4 out of our 7 games this season as a result of it. I actually think the tactics are brave when we have the ball as we commit bodies forward and it has resulted in a lot of games being like a basketball game which it did feel like yesterday and throughout this season.
  14. Yes but we haven't conceded that many goals and have been competitive in every game. If you sit deep, naturally you'll have more shots against you which will rack up the xG. We probably also have a weaker squad than the one we had last year, so we're gonna have to expect to be second best and ride our luck in most games.
  15. I don't disagree that it needs to be better but we simply don't have the quality to be playing open expansive football, quite simply. You can call it safe, pragmatic, etc., but we have been hard to beat and scored in every game. Have we been lucky to some extent? Yes. But we have shown enough so far to suggest we can compete which is all we can ask for this season.
  16. I don't know what people are expecting to be frank. We've lost to Arsenal, Fulham and Villa. Drawn against Everton, Palace and Spurs. Beaten Bournemouth. That's not actually a bad return from those games. His style is defensive and pragmatic but we haven't got the squad to be anything but fighting relegation this season. If we had Maresca still, I reckon we'd have a lower points total, so we have to face reality a little imo.
  17. Probably the game to go with defensive forwards so would have had Ayew in personally to hold the ball up and give us a breather. More brave then I thought we'd be.
  18. We'll smash them! Arteta out and Cooper to get the Arsenal job!!
  19. Agreed he's got no loyalties to us but his best chance imo to play for one of the top clubs at senior level is to prove himself here first and then get a big move when he's established. I always think it's a harder route to come through a big clubs academy and into the first team.
  20. Two ways to look at it. The big clubs don't develop many of their own players to play on their first team, so even if a big club comes in now you're taking a risk that you won't play for them. If he stays with us he's got a great chance of being a first team regular and growing into a top player before his big move.
  21. I think everyone thinks FFP is a shambles so I reckon we'll be the neutrals favourite for sticking 2 fingers up to the Premier league and proving the little clubs can win against the institution.
  22. They can fine us but surely the EFL can't take Premier league points away from us?? Might be messy if we get relegated!
  23. So because we extended our accounting period to 30 June 2023 and handed our PL shares to Luton before then, we technically cannot get charged under PSR because we aren't a Premier league club at the end of that period.
  24. Premier league, we won the fight, Your rules are a load of shite, They don't want another 5000/1, But ultimately the Leicester won...
  25. I think the PSR rules need to be looked at. It was brought in to protect clubs from going into administration but it is fast creating a monopoly to suit the 'bigger' clubs. You have to spend to compete and this is what teams like Chelsea and Man City have done for years to establish themselves in world football. We were forced to sell KDH and weaken our squad considerably to stay clear of the laws. But were we ever at risk of administration? I do not think so!!
