There was no clear style of play under Cooper, Ruud, Marti or Rowett. I couldn't tell you whether we were possession, counter attack or what our philosophy was. It is clear with Martin that we are a possession based team. Whether that is how we should play is up for debate but it is clear what we are trying to do.

He might not be the right person but he certainly has a clear identity. Whether that is the right way to play is up for debate but at least its clear what we are doing. Under Cooper, Ruud and Rowett, no idea what we were trying to do.

I dont think he is the issue. The issue is we played this football under Enzo. Then went and got Cooper who was so different and then every style since has been different. The real randomness of our appointments has meant we have lost our identity as a club and the players dont know what to do. We need to stick with a style and run with it.

I dont understand Souttar in this team. He is too slow, not very good on the ball and really shakey at the back. If we are going to be controlling from the back, we need someone who can play with it and bring it out. Will Alves is the model of the footballers we need here. Intent to always make something happen, alongside some of the other young players. The experienced pros need to learn from them.

Everyone looks good. Id rather have these two playing CB for us too and McFarlane at LB for us.

9 goals 7 assists last season in a team that showed nothing. That's a good return considering most of his goals were all his own making. He'll be an asset for a mid table premier league team at a min.

People questioned his loyalty but he was far too good to play for us and gave us a fair few good seasons. Best first touch in football ever and the only player to consistently get you out of your seat every game.

I think we looked better under Rowett then we have under anyone in two years. He stopped the rot of losing four on the bounce in his first game and had we had some better composure in key games (Watford, Preston, Stoke, Hull, Swansea, Sheff Weds) we would have stayed up. His style of football is primitive but we need to go back to basics and id rather him than Russell Martin and playing fancy football. We need our players to be fighting and im not sure who'd be better equipped to the job.

Him and Chilwell were better than Trent and Robertson in our first full season under Rodgers. If he didn't get injured in the game before Covid I reckon he'd be a different level altogether. Wish him the best and no hard feelings.

I think when Rodgers came out publicly and said the squad wasnt good enough in the summer of 22/23 that felt like a big moment. The squad seemed to lose confidence and it has all snowballed since then. We did seem to recover under Maresca but it was clear nobody really believed in Steve Cooper and the negative energy and loss of confidence has been instilled in these players. We needed change but PSR strangled us into not being able to sign players so that negative energy has remained. Its no coincidence that JJ is one of our best players but we needed more signings like him.

I think what we've been missing all season is fight. These players are good enough but needed a rocket to perform and we saw signs of that on Saturday.
