They had **** all money to spend bar Ugbo who’d been on loan there. If he’s overstretched it makes sense to take fewer risks and go for players he knows - mostly in Germany or England. Also Wednesday are just so shoddy that, quite sensibly, he’d have an eye on departing so picking up players pre-peak who’ll mature later on at the cost of not being ready now wouldn’t be sensible. It’d concern me if he wanted to do the same here but there are mitigating circumstances at Wednesday, it’s defensible unlike Ruud’s aversion to youth.
