The drop off after Macia is insane. Anybody that seems to be good at their job in the recruitment space seems to clear off quite quickly. Macia, Sormaz, Fontes etc.
-
The showsec (or whatever firm) there to stop a pitch invasion (???) at the end of the game are the total opposite to tubby. I reckon about 5 motivated fat blokes could bulldoze them.

Some of our fans seem to think we chased the dream rather than just completely mismanaging a normal-ish spend. We converted big sales into large wages and a bloated squad. We could have afforded to be so shit at recruitment if we just shifted maybe 50% of the dead wood or players on expiring deals. The last couple of unwanted players we sold for more than Β£5m for were Iborra and Musa in 2018! 7 years ago!

Comparing this season to 2014/15 Great Escape
Stadt replied to tickler28's topic in Leicester City Forum
A lot of the squad in 14/15 had a lot to prove, they were young, hungry and upwardly mobile. We mostly have the opposite now. Plus Pearson fostered possibly the best team spirit and mentality I've ever witnessed in sport. Through his own force of will, alignment between the backroom staff and by only recruiting players that got it. That's gone. -
We have so many tweener players that we'll be top 6ish. BEK is talented but hasn't shown anywhere near enough for somebody to buy him for more than we paid. Fatawu isn't leaving due to his injury Mavididi is a good top end Championship winger. Skipp and Winks likely aren't going anywhere given what we paid. Even Daka, as maligned as he was last season scored 7 goals in 1086 minutes. Stolarcyzk is adept. Vestergaard is fine at that level, we're not making our money back on Okoli so it's likely he's staying and he's better than the second tier. If we need to raise funds Hermansen, Kristiansen, Soumare, and Faes will fetch > Β£50m. We're abysmally ran but even the undesirable players are better than mid table championship crap.

Pretty much sold/let out all their stock after the PY forced closure, not sure if it was related. I know somebody who works for them so next time I see them I'll ask. In better news, the Brew Dog unit had tradesmen in doing something last night, couldn't tell what.

His heart isnβt in the right place otherwise we wouldnβt be this shit. Heβs more loyal to acolytes than he is the club or its fans. Bringing a horde of Thai minor celebrities and hangers-on for a tour round the pitch, stealing the limelight from the players, then whacking them on a bus parade proved that itβs a vanity thing. Mince pies or desiccated f ucking coconut doesnβt mean anything, probably not even his idea, I doubt he even foots the bill. Who would want us? We have a big fan base, planning approved for expansion for a relatively decent, new ground, arguably the best training facility in world football, an academy thatβs generated Β£150m+ in sales over the past 5 years. King Power arenβt doing us a favour by owning us.

Man Cityβs owners arenβt Saudi

I was being flippant. Good teams never win because of leadership, only bad ones lose because through a lack of it.
-
Iβve not watched MOTD since sometime early in 22/23 pretty much for that reason but I also watch less football generally. A pure highlights show would probably pull in better ratings.
-
Canal house, The News House, Ye Olde Trip, Kean's Head, Malt Cross, King William, The Bath Inn
-
Nottingham is miles better for pubs. Probably twice the number of pubs in the city centre and the median pub is better there as well.
-
They seem to struggle against sides that press them a bit higher. Their away record is 2-4-3, I'd like to see us sit in a mid block and try and break faster than we have, Vardy has been pretty isolated recently, Buonanotte in particular needs to be closer to combine with Vardy.
-
I can't see MOTD lasting that long tbh (i.e more than 10 years), it's easier than ever to watch the highlights. Plus so much discussion is around VAR/reffing that most analysis is just cursory crap.
-
Plays like it but we gain in so many other ways like with his 'leadership' and 'organisation'.
-
Ric made a good point on BSLB that really Β£3m for a bottom half Serie A defender with 6 months left is a big overpay - and we never shift unwanted players for a decent fee. If we want rid of Okoli/he wants out we have to at the very least break even. Also Vestergaard is 32.5, Coady is almost 32, Faes is seemingly off at some point. That just leaves us with Okoli and Nelson as long term options and I wouldn't trust us to upgrade on Okoli this window.
-
10-15 goals isnβt enough for a side chasing automatic promotion.
-
If we go down and weβre relying on Cannon as our striking hope weβre ****ed. We need money now and Sunderland wonβt provide that, use their offer as leverage with Sheff United and chuck Hamza in as well in the most PSR efficient way
-
Everton did a good job on us
-
And how many players donβt make a leap like that in their careers? 99%? The underlying data most likely would have suggested those players are good even when they werenβt scoring. The data atm says Cannon is a midtable championship striker. I like him and keeping him on loan is a good idea especially as we may need him in the championship next year. But we canβt hold onto players in the hope they have a 1 in a 10000 transformation like Vardy.

They like him enough seemingly not to loan him out but not to play him for 10 minuets here and there. We need to do what's best for his development, his current purgatory isn't helping. He's also 19 so the last 3/4/5 managers spans back as far 2018. When we're hoping and changing managers they're obviously going to be short terms in their decisions. You might think that's a good reason not to play him, fair enough. In that case loan him out. There absolutely will be teams in L1 or L2 that would take him on loan.
-
Stoke are shit but 14th for xG for, so he's part of the problem imo. Even in the limited league minutes for us last season (4.8 nineties) he was only at 0.32 xg per 90. I just don't think he's alive enough in the box consistently to get into good positions. I actually quite like him, he's combative and he's great at half chances but that's not the hall mark of player capable of scoring 10+ in the PL.
