I'm actually a bit fed up of defending Dyche but people keep making straw man arguments about him. Burnley had the faculties of a League 1 club, e.g training ground, recruitment set up, academy set up - he got them up twice, kept them up and finished 7th with them. Eventually it went stale but were just miles off being a modern PL club still, of which maybe he can carry some of the blame but a manager can't go against the tide forever. At Everton, their squad was absolutely dogshit and somehow expensively assembled, the ownership was shambolic at this point and he kept them up twice (at our expense). Moyes took over amongst the backdrop of a takeover and new ground, it's a fresh start and a completely different mood. He's been at clubs with pretty different circumstances to where we are now, that might mean he is a bad fit but in the absence of good youth prospects at Burnley and Everton it doesn't automatically mean he'd bin Alves off and play Reid or whatever.

I think the midtable sides are just good now itβs completely compressed the league (less the bottom 3). Palace, Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth are genuinely good teams and theyβre just closer to the top rather than the big sides are worse necessarily

He is such a loser

We've had two out of three of our best eras in the the last 30 or so years. The best thing 80% of Forest fans have ever seen is lifting the play off final trophy

So many people in the football media are so far removed from what itβs like to be a fan - they should have the self-awareness to just shut up on occasion. Itβs a complete bubble of crap ex-pros and theyβre mostly of room temperature intelligence too. At least Shearer, Neville, Carragher had incredible careers. Sutton, Murphy, Richards were toss.

A player Iβve defended but that was wet as ****

Not about his popularity but his general efficacy. Heβd be thought of as way pragmatic rather than as a dinosaur or whatever. Weβre very snobbish on here, most of us would have turned our noses up at Parker and heβs gotten Moore points than Enzo with a worse side. Rohl, Manning etc are invented managers and have a lot of potential but theyβve achieved almost nothing at that level. Dyche has gotten Burnley up twice, kept them up and took them to Europe. Heβs an abrasive, odd bloke and the football he plays isnβt beautiful (nor was Puel, Marescas or RVNβs) which is what people are basing their opinion on rather than his merit as manager.

If his name was Juan Diaz he genuinely would be considered differently

Given my brother my ref. Will have a much more enjoyable day at Anstey Nomads.

Iβve been there twice and theyβre had between 3-4x the amount of fans singing and standing. Somehow I doubt they have stat the average home game despite not caring about us a jot.

Despite being a big Chemical Brothers and New Order fan it only just dawned on me today that Bernard Summer does the vocals on Out of Control

The Armstrong one would sound ridiculous if it was sung in the ground.

Even our own populace. WWII naturally occupies more headspace but most people wouldnβt know ~twice the amount of British troops died in the Great War.
-
If we try and sell him any purchasing team would want us to pay a % of his wages anyway. Better off cutting out losses on him quickly rather than waiting for a market that inevitably isn't there.

Next season you'd expect Spurs and United to improve, Wolves look genuinely good under Pereira, it's only West Ham I don't really rate going into next season. There'll be about 16 good teams in the PL and this is somehow a bad thing? The median side has gotten smart; it's such a high quality league and finally befitting of all the money spent relative to comparable Spanish or German clubs.
-
People just like moaning about the PL. The stated preference is people want jeopardy at the top of the table but if Man City won in a close title race vs Arsenal or Liverpool, the very same would whinge about it. It's not a memorable title fight or relegation battle but like you said, the churn between 3rd-16th has been really interesting. The quality of the median PL side now is so high they can usurp atrophied big sides.
-
Shows you how strong the PL is that two lower midtable teams wipe the floor with the rest of Europe's B tier sides. Athletic are absolutely no mugs and the worst Man United side for x decades blitzed them (the early red didn't help). It's quite interesting there is some churn in the sides from England qualifying for Europe, even if Notts Forest are one of them.

James, Happy Mondays and The Lightning Seeds in Colchester in August. 4 tickets for the price of 3 when I bought them so pretty good value at Β£36 each.
-
Villa will be fine, they've successfully managed to flog players to Saudi, something we did once successfully about 7 years ago and never bothered trying to again. Two of Buendia, Bailey and Watkins will be enough
