Norwich feel a bit like Sunderland from last year. Very young squad that even without signings improves. They a dogmatic possession manager before and have a manager that overachieved with Bristol City. They’ll do well. West Brom have done pretty well, their DoF (or whatever) did a great Training Ground Guru podcast app a few months ago. Hard not to think they’ll get it right at some point

Some cheap dates on here, doing a sub par job after not doing it all isn't good. We only reactively sell players whereas good DoFs get them out the door proactively.

It's bizarre, when he first joined he scored a few screamers and then his technique seemed to get worse. He has scored a decent amount for a DM though as his timing and positioning was pretty good in the box

If he’d played in any other era without a doubt people would say he’s a bona fide legend. Feels like he’s getting the blame for the team around him being crap, not quite the player he was but his decline is overstated. FA cup, Community shield and Championship winner, 302 appearances, 5th highest PL appearances. Played in the Champions League. All whilst being one of the best DMs in the world at his peak. He’s a legend in my opinion.

We’re capable of 90+ and defensively we have a strong squad with some excellent attacking talents so even a fairly stern deduction still puts us in the auto picture. If BEK stays and Fatawu stays fit those too are just too good at this level. I can’t see past Ipswich though, they have a stronger team than the previous promotion side.

Nelson, should be a mainstay over the next few years whether we’re up or not. Ricardo can’t stay fit long enough, he’s nearly 32 and his deal is up next year. Choudhury was done for drunk driving his car on the wrong side of the road. Also signals Nelson is valued and one of the shit old guard aren’t inexplicably rewarded for our inability to sell them.

I think the system stymied the wingers in 23/24. Fatawu specially didn't end up in the box much. Mavididi scored more when we had a bit more space, after game 29 he scored 3 goals and Fatawu just didn't really score bar against Woke Martin's idiocy. The wingers seem like they have a lot more freedom under Cifuentes so ideally we see them both much closer to goal - although I suspect Fatawu will always be like a 1 in 4 sort of player, he does tend to play a bit deeply for a modern inverted winger.

Select looks much more accomplished to me. Kone's technical ability ceilings him in the championship, his touch in tight spaces is crap and a lot of the goals he scored last year were against *crap* League One keeping. But if it's £5m it's a reasonable signing.
