  1. fixed it for you.
  2. I don't think it is so much this, more the fact that we've had a golden 10 years or so with players like Mahrez, Vardy, Kante, all in their pomp, gracing the KP. Even Tielemans in terms of pure ability was better than KDH. I think that's the lens the people are viewing him through and the level we are comparing him too. I'm also not convinced that he is as good as Lennon or Izett really.... but he is more that kind of level. a solid operator, but he isn't going to trouble the England squad at any point and will have a solid mid tier PL career no doubt. I suspect he'll spend the latter part of his career though back in the championship once his legs / stamina start to go a little bit.
  3. Depending on how the season plays out, I'd take McKenna I think. If he would come. I suspect it would end up being Oscar Garcia though.
  4. So we are all expecting a Morgan Whitaker winner right????
  5. They have.... but brighton also currently sit in 10th place in the league.... It's not exactly a "major success" on the pitch, albeit, they are clearly well run off of it..... once the vultures have swarmed and picked off their best talent, coupled with a few duff purchases.... they could very quickly find themselves at the wrong end of the table again...
  6. so man city's budget for wages, transfers and agent fees becomes £600m a year and for someone like West Ham, Villa, Everton etc... it's more like £170m.................. with those kind of disparities it's going to lock MOST of the premier league out of competing in Europe and therefore growing their revenues....
  7. my favourite ever book is Bill Bryson - A short history of nearly everything..... it's a science book, but really readable and lots of great anecdotes about scientific discovery and how things work. I'd thoroughly recommend it. I reckon i've read it about 15 times over the years!
  8. This sums up my view of Ipswich perfectly. You make your own luck in football and McKenna clearly has a plan for different phases of the game. Before we appointed Enzo, McKenna would have been my choice of "manager to take a punt on"... He's going to the top for sure.
  9. Good luck Sir.
  10. I'd choose sorrento. Capri is hugely overpriced and over hyped!
  11. https://www.eastmidlandsdevolution.co.uk/ First meeting of the "East Midlands Combined Authority" today..... OBVIOUSLY, Leicestershire isn't included..... so are we technically now, no longer in the East Midlands??? We aren't Northerners, or Southerners.... what actually are we??
  12. it's not as simple as this though is it.... that 23% probably represents a certain age demographic.... those people are most likely to get their news and information from a newspaper..... MOST of the newspapers are pro-tory and MOST of them will blame lots of our issues on the same rhetoric that the government peddles. They aren't looking at other sources of information, they probably have a house that is paid for (many of which may have bought them as part of right to buy) they have probably become relatively comfortable and affluent AND have memories of the labour government that was in power when the country last went to hell in a handcart in the 70's. I've pretty much described my own father here and I know for a fact he will vote tory. (other than the right to buy element, he wasn't part of that) the reality is, that with a FPTP system, the MAJORITY of voters, don't vote Tory, but the Tories still get in.... for 75 of the last 100 years.... the centre right vote and the right wing vote isn't split in the same way that the left and centre left parties are. I suspect Reform may have a very bad effect on the Conservatives at the next election... that, or they will do some form of pact.
  13. It depends what you are looking for really. but it's a VAST place! We did the 2nd half of our honeymoon in Canada but we were in the East. We did 3 nights in Montreal, then drive to a beautiful place called Algonquin (It's a national park).... this was then followed by some time in Toronto and finished off in Niagra. It was a great combination of Cities and wilderness. just in case you aren't aware as well.... they don't sell alcohol in supermarkets, you have to go to a different store and they typically have different opening times. Also.... They have different driving laws depending on which state you are in!! In Montreal, we couldn't turn right on a red light.... in Toronto... we had to!! Made it an interesting road trip!! thankfully, outside the cities, it's really quiet on the roads and even their back roads are the size of our dual carriageways. plan your stops well, as there is sometimes a 2 hour drive without seeing any form of civilisation!
  14. Very best of luck with this study, I hope you make a breakthrough. I had an ex girlfriend who suffered with Bipolar and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Certainly over the 3.5 years we were together, it affected her massively, but also had a deep and lasting effect on me as well.
  15. to be fair....... the way ALL of the Tories seem to "not be standing for re-election" I'm not sure there will be many to vote for!
  16. Ashby is pretty solid and vibrant as well to be fair....

    Budget 2024

I grew up in Market Bosworth and in my 42 years, it's never been anything other than Conversative............ IF it falls to another party, it will be a seismic result for the GE and the Tories will be effectively wiped out across the country. I just cant' see H&B ever being anything other than conservative, much to my disdain!
  19. whichever way you look at it.... Tonight's fight has interest and intrigue... there are so many unanswered questions. Will Joshua prove Ngannou to be poor but had a good night against fury. Is he a genuine talent who hits hard and beats AJ? Parker vs Zhang is also a great fight. I'm looking forward to watching it!
  20. Probably why we didn't sign sensi then??
  21. So what does that mean in English then??? @Tommy G any idea??

    Budget 2024

you are right actually.... it includes both elements of the recent reductions in NI - Analysts from AJ Bell calculated the combined NIC cuts would mean savings of up to £1,508 a year for those earning £50,270 or more and almost £900 for someone earning £35,000 a year.

as it has always been. the distinction between the two parties is what they do with the money they take... One is more predicated on the betterment of society in general... the other is about driving free enterprise and protecting the wealthier end of society. my personal preference is the betterment of society as a whole, but I absolutely understand those who want to be entrepreneurs and generate their own wealth, so that they aren't reliant on state support. I'm of the opinion that government should be their to protect those that are most needing and vulnerable in society.... but i "think" that makes me part of this woke blob that they talk about.... not sure what that actually means! Positive news on Child Benefit though and the uprating of the rates......... It does however feel like a very scorched earth approach as they've shafted labours plan for the non dom tax status to fund their infrastructure spending plans.

    Budget 2024

see, technically, I'm £125 a month better of as a result of the NI change, and my wife will be about the same better off each month.... will absolutely mean we don't feel the cost of CT going up quite as much as we otherwise might. HOWEVER....... by Freezing the tax thresholds for as long as they have... we've been rinsed in the meantime and dragged into higher rate tax... which I don't think should ever have really been the case. That's been crippling for most middle earners.
