  1. People said wait until Evans is back, well he came back and we got even worse Then said wait until Ricardo is back, we'll he came back and nothing improved Then said wait until JJ is back... And somehow we got even worse still Maybe it's not the injuries, but the Rodgers & Toure coaching & development
  2. Fingers crossed he's gone! His many friends in the media will be gutted though… and just like when Liverpool sacked him, he'll be getting them to write hit-pieces on the club
  3. His date of birth was 2nd July You can't get anything organised for the 2nd minute, so as @Bertsays, he was 33 So a minute's applause on the 33rd minute in the next home game sounds fitting
  4. He seemed to hope that he'd have a few months, but it looks like it was a week So sad
  5. I am gutted Known Liam 'online' for many, many years. Probably for as long as he's been on Twitter I know he entered palliative care just over a week ago, but seems to have reached the end much sooner than expected On the 28th of January he said: "it's good to mention what palliative care is many get scared you may die straight away hopefully with alot of good management and help I'll at least watch Leicester win the European conference" So, so, so sad even just from a selfish point of view that I'll never get to talk LCFC with him again, or any other of our shared interests from Fools & Horses to taking the piss out of stuff Important to remember he never moaned about the hand he was dealt, he just got on with it in a positive fashion, much like when City lost I'm absolutely gutted. RIP Liam. The world has a lost a good 'un Let's hope we can win the Europa Conference as he wished https://twitter.com/liamlcfc88/status/1487159506433884161?s=20&t=Sm1NjzqdgoiIs46OpVsGnA
  6. He had a heart condition, was in and out of Glenfield regularly He sung their praises all the time On a couple of occasions he was taken ill at the games, most recently a short while ago which had prevented him going recently
  7. Hahaha Good one! It'll probably be another couple of years if past performance from Polyphony Digital is anything to go by Not great news for PS5 launch period with Deathloop being delayed until next year
  8. 10th-12th? Laughable with current squad including Vardy, Evans, Soyuncu, Maddison etc plus some of Europe's finest in Ricardo & Ndidi You're putting us below Burnley & co?
  9. Wolves increased their points total while they were in Europa from the season before when they, I would hope we can do the same Finishing top 6 though requires one or more of the big 6 will need an off day again, Arsenal look to have a sound manager & Mourinho could do one of 2nd season syndrome specials and fire Spurs up the table Increasing our points total should be the minimum expectation (we achieved 1.1 points per game from 6th December when Rodgers signed his new contract) I hope we go for a cup!
  10. Can you see us improving if he stays? Lost 5 in 9 this season and 10 of last 16... Some improvement Do you really think there's not a manager who couldn't do better with what we have, the 19th most valuable squad in Europe
  11. While we're dispelling myths, lets remember what actually happened We had fast transitions, before opposition defences got set, the interplay from defence to attack was frequently unplayable - We didn't play the ball endlessly between DMs & CBs... or along lines... we played through the lines Now we have all this possession, so what? Much of it is exactly where opposition allows us to have possession, and as such we're pretty easy to play against... Unless you're Fleetwood, Peterborough, Notts County, Huddersfield or Newcastle
  12. It's also impossible when CAMs play triangles with DMs & the DMs pass sideways If you've got a forward who runs the channels as well as anyone in the world, then it's pointless playing him if you're not going to look up & play the ball into the channels Problem for us is, he's our only forward... all of the others we have need a forward to play alongside or in front of them (a bizarre situation to be in)
  13. I like the grand plan, the Q is whether Puel is the man capable of delivering it - Because, like you say you need the results on the pitch too But as Saints have showed, just like WHU before them with Lampard, Ferdinand, Cole, Carrick... You eventually run out of real talent Other clubs are also buying up U-21s to add to their own academy stock, in fact the EPPP tiered academy system dictates it (IIRC) But losing 2 recruitment directors is a ridiculous situation, absolutely ridiculous, although whoever was responsible for Gheezal & maybe Iheanacho (in my harsher moments) should be sacked
  14. His tactics last night were to stop Arsenal Cbs dribbling the ball out He was standing off them, then closing them down as soon as they stepped out their 1/3rd, he was directing others, pointing out their runners He did spin off their last man once or twice, he actually made runs behind Bellerin loads, but after the first 20mins the team was too busy passing sideways to notice
  15. Can't fault what Puel's done for Chilwell, because he may not have got the chance under other managers, but the likes of Ndidi and other have played consistently for others But what's the ultimate aim? To be a feeder club for the big 4 (although put up a brave fight along the way, but still ultimately sell our best player each summer) Or to achieve in the here & now (whatever your definition of success is, eg 7th, Europa, a cup, consistent top half finishes etc.) ps. I wouldn't choose Rafa at all... He's got Q's to answer over his methods... and his results this season, especially against Cardiff, us & Brighton
  16. Wolves were extremely happy to concede possession, even at home & to a team with 10-men Doesn't bode well at all, considering how ineffective we can be when a team is happy to not have the ball Schmeichel Ricardo Morgan Maguire Chilwell Silva Ndidi Gheezal Maddison Gray Vardy Maguire did well at OT, Evans won't be risked rushed back Big concerns over Gheezal's ability to track back so maybe Albrighton will get the nod Puel will not play anything other than 4231, so no point going all Football Manager & suggesting it 2-2
  17. Kasper... Excelled for us as part of the organised unit of the past few years (excluding last season obviously) Denmark are an organised unit too, so it's no surprise he's excelled there He's by no means irreplaceable and I'd be surprised if Puel doesn't look at a keeper who's better with his feet & can help bring the ball out from the back or play as a sweeper... However Kasper is very competent in a side which plays as a unit
  18. Bloke who's tried to leave the club for an age... all of a sudden jeopardises transfer for the sake of a few quid lol. as if
  19. Southampton had 8th highest wage bill that season. League position should be unexpected. The cup run was good though, makes us getting knocked out with a whimper more bizarre But cripes Taking 7th highest wage bill to 9th (maybe 10th, 11th or 12th yet) isn't a great achievement, many could have done it - following defeats to Arsenal, Utd & Chelsea in our 1st 5 games of the season. 2 creditable cup runs? Most notable for being knocked out while we faded to grey against teams we could have beaten on the day - If we'd just had a bit oomph about our play, until then our only result in the cup was against Liverpool reserves, unless you count Sheffield Utd, Peterborough & Fleetwood as stern opposition. And who cares about Allardyce (who's now comfortably above us by the way, despite not getting buy-in from the players or fans), Pardew & Hughes do. It doesn't mean we HAVE to employ any of them or their like.
  20. Should be in the team for me Chilwell isn't good enough, poor at crossing & frequently clueless at defending. Will Chilwell get good enough, not if he's not playing but that's how Premier League sides use the loan system - Assuming Chilwell will ever be good enough that is...
  21. Cool Let him blow the £90m profit PLUS the £40m+ Mahrez money, then get rid
  22. Good job we employed a manager who said he'd seduce Mahrez Wait, maybe he said he'd induce him in a coma.... That all the players seem to be in when they take the pitch, with his words ringing fresh in their ears
  23. Players distracted? I blame the person whose job it is to prepare the players for each match
  24. 4 wins in 18 games? 19 games is half the season So with that in mind midterm future will be the Championship...... long term - League 1?
  25. 2017 Puel was good 2018 Puel & this possession for possession's sake style is quite simply awful Needs binning tonight, Appleton to see us through to end of the season
