I should have said I meant within first couple of years, but it does happen, Spurs have had managers turn them down, as well as Chelsea and Manchester United. Xabi turned down Liverpool if you want a recent'ish example.
-
Managers quite often turn down moves to bigger clubs, they not all like that. The guy who recently left boro is another one I wouldnt consider. Hopping constantly to what is best for oneself is a mercenary.

The writing was on the wall even before that season. We had for a number of a years an extremely high wages to income ratio.

Either promote a striker from youth or grab from a lower league, if the club decides it cant do neither I would rather we dont respond the money and just use existing players. Instead I think we will end up with Antonia costing us a fortune. -
Why do people want him back, head scratcher. 1 - We need to stop that type of football, we cant afford a 200 million pound squad to make it work. 2 - He left us after only a single year, no loyalty. Even with better players than us, Chelsea fans were sick of the football as well. Regardless he wont come back anyway.

I see people still resisting, they think short term results are more important than getting these clowns out.
-
Looks like he is close to been sacked at Chelsea, his style is dated, even Pep has adapted and moved on with the game.

They all knew it.

This isnt all what it seems. First of course is the obvious that these losses are down to his mismanagement. But also its not like he is paying all the day to day costs etc. We kicking the can down the road with loans secured over future TV monies.
-
He isnt a Top type manager so wont even be considered.

Wonder if the usual winter pay day loan happens this year. -
The people I know that defend Top and KP, their defense is usually along the lines "he isnt involved day to day, cant blame him for that". I think they in the mindset of because of the early success they now have immunity status for failure.

I dont know if we talking about results, the football style, or the club ownership issues. For me this is the most detached I have ever been from the club, when the club went in admin it wasnt a good moment bu t at least then people rallied together and a fix was in the works, whilst now its like we are a stumbling drunken who doesnt realise he is drunk. In terms of results, players etc. we have been worse, but my issue with what is happening now, is we not just rubbish on the pitch, but also its extremely over paid rubbish, a mandate from the ownership of a style of play, and a lack of long term planning on the building of the squad, its like we just throwing darts at a board randomly.

I do kind of agree with this, but my reasons are, that this is because we not changing our priorities and way of play. we likely training and concentrating on that we defend via having the ball, keeping possession, so there is likely inadequate work done on the basics. A lot of goals we concede are the sane type we have been conceding for ages now, trying to play out from keeping, boom goal, and also defenders not willing to bust a gut to stop a goal. By defenders I mean pretty much the entire team as of course when you dont have the ball, it shouldnt just be the back 4 defending. Teams repeatedly just bypass our midfield, and then its only when it reaches our box we start to care, and then not enough. So many players are just like statues. But of course it would help if we were playing players who want to be here, and show case themselves rather than just collect a wage.

There was always going to be at least a blip, the test now is if they can get back on auto promotion form. Ipswich are good enough to get there if they cant get the PPG back up.

He might work again where Enzo played him. But as full back? Sadly his best days are behind him, and hes still paid a decent amount as well, so ruthlessness needs to come ahead of emotions. I always have a certain likeness as he has portrayed himself very well, with his interactions with fans, and at least looks like he gives a damn.

A lot of stuff has happened under her watch, but I think she has effectively not had the freedom one would expect a CEO to have, and she was the one with any kind of credibility on her CV.
-
No, but it makes me feel better about the result thinking of it that way.
-
Aside that he talked about it in his east mids tv interview when Sven was our manager, yes, because Enzo revealed he had conversations with both Rudkin and Top about it.
-
Ok Top.

One obvious problem of getting a top tier manager is it would make the fans forget to push Top out of the club, it would serve to smoke over the problems. Our ceiling with a top tier manager is I expect around the play offs. But that and a promotion would just kick the can down the road, for what we really need to do and that is to do a full spring clean.
-
Pretty sure they had to be talked into taking Pearson back. I think was Mandaric still during transition period but someone else on here said was the club ambassador. So that leaves Rodgers and Claudio who did well with good foundations built by previous managers, but then struggled longer term. Claudio success playing the opposite way to how Top wants us to play. The entire culture at the club is rotten now, we need a fresh coat of paint.

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/queens-park-rangers/transfers/verein/1039/saison_id/2025 Looks like they were able to do some decent business. We on the other hand dealing with PSR ceiling and Rudkin. Its more about amount of players moved, and the effectiveness, than silly things like net spend. Their manager may also have the freedom to play how he sees fit, ours is tied to Top and Rudkin instructions on style of play. Your darlings Top and Rudkin arent cutting it I'm afraid. I almost forgot Daka, striker of the division.

A new owner will fill the ground again.

He hasnt got good tools or a good environment. Working under dick and harry with a ageing squad that doesnt want to be here. Until that is fixed, it doesnt matter who our manager is.
