I don’t think Rodgers has the bottle to sell him against his will, so a lot will depend on Kasper. If he is open to going and we get an offer, I’m sure it’ll be accepted. I just hope we have options lined up to replace him and don’t leave it too late. Pope/Henderson have to be the main two choices.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he went United as backup keeper as Dean Henderson will still be in demand and Tom Heaton is out of contract at the same time as Kasper. If he went he would get all of the cup games plus some early European games which would suit him seeing as it is his boyhood club. If that was the case I’d love us to sign Henderson as a replacement, if we can’t get Pope.

You do realise that IF we win it, we will be in the Europa League next season, worth around £13m according to our latest accounting. Not only does it mean we will be able to attract better talent than if we weren’t in Europe, it is worth more than finishing a couple of places higher in the league. Not to mention - a trophy.

As a goalkeeping coach I’d argue he’s been average at best. Kasper has never improved on his weaknesses, commanding his area and his kicking. If he had done, he would be talked about as one of the best in Europe.

It’s just all very negative from him now, we only try to attack once we go behind. It’s the same every week.

I want a winger as much as the next person but the problem with upgrading for the sake of it, is that you end up with Perez who was an upgrade on Ghezzal - for £30m. I think we all agree that we should have prioritised signing a winger before any other signing.

Rodgers definitely does, as do I to be honest but I would be starting Daka over both of them. Vardy is certainly out of form at the minute, I just hope it’s just a bad patch and not his age starting to affect his performances.

People are actually moaning about this. £15m doesn’t get you much these days, especially during a pandemic. Don’t forget we paid £12m for a goalkeeper who never plays. We have had a last minute problem, which is now solved and he will be 4th choice by the end of the season. He addresses the biggest problem we’ve had since, forever - set pieces. Also, he is 29, not 35. He has years left in him at City, Evans is 4 years older so he will be around as backup for a long time, so it is not wasted money.
