  1. I was quite disappointed when he went to Leeds, though. He played 1 game for England in the 1970 WC. And scored a penalty to win the match 1-0. Think it was against Czechoslovakia.
  2. Alan "the bullet" Woolett. Yes, I'm THAT old.
  3. The same every season. Tossers, the lot of them.
  4. He has his moment... (deliberately leaving out the plural)
  5. You found a stream? Well done.
  6. Making enough changes isn't the same as making the right changes. Can he do that? We'll see.
  7. I have only been that way once since the junction was remodelled and I went straight on from Blackbird Road to Fosse Road. I didn't take much notice but I seem to remember there's no left turn from Blackbird Road towards Frog Island. Am I right and if so where does that traffic go if there's no left turn?
  8. They sell for quite a tidy sum.
  9. Unlikely. One of a number of new routes available from East Midlands Airport has instantly become the furthest destination, at 2,793 miles away. Boa Vista, one of the largest of the Cape Verde islands in the Atlantic Ocean west of Senegal, is a new destination that TUI has launched from East Midlands Airport, with twice-weekly flights getting underway from the beginning of May through to the end of October.
  10. Well, you do live in Kettering.
  11. Everything in that pic is something you don't see anymore. All that needs adding is a glass of Babycham or Snowball.
  12. @Jattdogg still would.
  13. What about an older face?
  14. Why a Turkish side? He's already got a sharp haircut and nice teeth.
  15. And there you go again. Unqualified rhetoric. I'm not going to labour the point or get into an unnecessary argument as I don't want this topic shut down again.
  16. Who are the people getting these things, then? You've simply spouted the same rhetoric that Reform want to hear and spread. The only things on your list that they might get free is rent paid (if they qualify for full housing benefits) and food from a foodbank. And believe it or not people in crisis situations can only have 3 foodbank vouchers in a 6 week period by which time it is expected that they will no longer be in crisis. If their situation hasn't improved they can re-apply but it's not just handing out vouchers to all and sundry that rock up at CAB or the council. People are checked to try to ensure they are genuine. WRT foodbanks, I volunteer in 2 locally. The people that come in are genuinely in need. Some are living temporarily in a hotel room having moved to escape domestic violence or in 1 case I know of, modern slavery. All they have is a kettle in their room. All we can give them is pot noodles, tinned rice pud, tinned fruit, tinned cold meat, tinned fish, stuff that doesn't need cooking. And yes, some are immigrants that have left war torn countries and to avoid persecution. It's easy to generalise until you see and hear things for yourself.
  17. I knew you didn't mean the Whiskey
  18. It is up for debate though. And I'm not sure what your last paragraph means. Her defence team was weak, I agree, They didn't seem to challenge hard enough or go to great lengths to refute the prosecution. Having watched the latest programme on TV, it's pretty damning that the evidence put forward by one "expert" that he then changed his mind about after the guilty verdict and further investigation by the new defence lawyer, exposed a number of discrepancies in the prosecution evidence. Also the contrary evidence that injecting air through the nasogastric tube wouldn't necessarily cause death, (there's no substantiating evidence that this actually happened. The post mortem results suggested it was a possible cause). Also subsequent expert opinion explaining that neonates can produce excessive amounts of insulin naturally which then gets reabsorbed naturally over time. I'm pretty sure at some point in the future the guilty verdict will be judged to be unsound.
  19. Is this the same as a golden shower? Might as well be.
  20. In thought this was clever.
  21. HA in Hinckley on my drive. I didn't have a problem before. I have previously been able to save R2, R5live and some commercial stations that aren't broadcasting on FM. You're right about the DAB reception. It's not great. I could have the radio on a DAB station and drive 50 yards down the road and lose it. Very frustrating.
  22. That's going to go over so many people's heads on here.
  23. Is the Leicester Lions speedway stadium/team still going?
