  1. Why is Mead substituting you.
  2. Examples please as some on here don't have twitter/X
  3. People said it was fake. Nope.
  4. Bloke was real "bloke" despite his fame. He made poor choices with his rock and roll lifestyle but he was never unlikeable. Genuine Brummie and never seemed to move away from that. I enjoyed the fly on the wall documentary with him and Sharon at home. Genuinely honest and open. He was a unique character and, even though I was never really a Sabbath fan, Paranoid was exceptional. RIP.
  5. I have a question about stop/start systems. I have a (very dull) Peugeot 2008 with a stop start system. I was wondering why the engine restarts if I open a door or unclip a seatbelt.
  6. Mine has gone down too. By about £50 pa. I was all set to go through comparison sites after I was told products are cheaper for the first year when you accept insurance through them. They weren't so I stayed with my current company.
  7. Isn't Trump doing the same over there? There seems to be some striking parallels between the Republicans and Reform.
  8. Early BMW's were built without radios as standard. Newer models are built without indicators.
  9. Imagine a world without photoshop.
  10. Watching this just because it's football. The standard of the football is pretty low but the commentary is so dull and flat that it just doesn't inspire any excitement.
  11. What are the general views of the use of political party whips? It bothers me that MP's aren't always allowed to vote with their conscience or in support of their constituents, but they are "whipped" into line. How is it right? It feels like any opposing voices will be shut down. How is that democracy ?
  12. From Newsnight tonight, a new term for fools... Knobheadery. As in being guilty of knobheadery Let's take it up and use it
  13. Thanks Wymsey. She was discharged home under the care of a CPN and a SW and has been for a couple of months now. We were worried that the hostility and hatred towards us would carry on, and it did, but we were advised by the SW and the CPN to inform the police and log all the offensive messages and death threats we have been receiving so that, if anything bad should happen, there's a record on the police system that can be recalled if necessary. The SW told us to block her on our phones as they were now "looking after" her and we didn't need to be so involved. So we did and life for us has been less fraught since. Mrs Para did text her a few days ago to ask if she was OK and she got a short reply saying "no" as her meds hadn't been delivered which is something we would have had to resolve before. Then the line of communication was open and we got several unpleasant texts so she is blocked again. It's a sort of relief that we don't have as much involvement although it doesn't stop the concerns we have for her long term. As far as we know she is managing with the support she now has in place. The fact that it's taken almost 10 years to finally get something there to help and support her is a poor indictment on the MH services.
  14. Might they have been there with their grandchildren given that it's school holidays and the parents were working?
  15. Wallace and Torode and all the other low level "celebs" that think are above reproach and can behave as the like just because they're on TV.
  16. It's genuinely a tough job. Most of the carers I came across when I was working were dedicated and their role was vital to their clients. Despite the time pressures they were under, many went over and above for the people they cared for. She deserves a good pension and a medal. I doubt she got either.
  17. Did he leave before the end?
  18. It's taken me so long to sort out the drivel and negativity of so many posters that I've forgotten what I wanted to say... Oh yeah. No matter what the situation is or what the positive potential might be, there's always going to be naysayers and I think most of us expect nothing more from them. They're regular pessimistic critics of anything good that might happen. It seems to me that these types could be shagging Rachel Riley and still not be happy.
  19. Wasn't MoN also a bit underwhelming at the start? Give the guy a chance.
  20. Jaws is a shite film. The script is crap. The acting is rubbish. The only thing decent and unique at the time was the rubber "shark" . The music soundtrack became iconic, but there's nothing else good about it.
  21. Surely the CEO gets a final look at anything major that the board proposes?
  22. Is this Nick who runs the flight deck simulator at Wolvey?
  23. DV incidents are notoriously difficult to deal with. Most times the victim doesn't want to take the matter further. I've been to so many where we we had the police involved as well. Sadly the victim just doesn't want to move to a hostel or a hotel room as their home is where there feel most secure despite the violence. I can't imagine giving up almost everything you have to go somewhere where you have virtually nothing. It must be a terrifying choice.
