  1. Tbh he’s not had a great lot to deal with just a load of individuals out of form, some switched off and wanting away and others just going through the motions, a situation which appeared to run through the club. JJ has been a revelation but it needed that Sheffield United fiasco to show we had hit rock bottom. Booing them off at half time underlined how far we had sunk. Clearly the tactics whatever they were weren’t working but they came out with renewed vigour we had not seen before playing a much more energetic and exciting brand of football. Has Marti turned a corner with them? Has he learnt from his mistakes? Shifting Faes and Winks has been a positive and the players look as though they are responding. There are still issues but there are seeds of optimism following some good performances. The next few weeks will tell.
  2. He looks more assured and less vulnerable with Nelson accompanying him.
  3. 60 minutes…..that long!!! 😂😂😂
  4. Without Winks and Soumare our team will be smaller but in terms of commitment I’m not so sure we will be weaker. I can put up with Soumare but Winks should never play for us again.
  5. I’m with you there. We always go to a match full of hope and expectation especially for a local derby. You have to be pretty enthusiastic to keep that going when you consider some of the performances we have seen this season. If they lose and have run their hearts out you don’t mind but I can understand some of the boos at half time and full time for a less than satisfactory performance.
  6. We pay a lot of money to watch them. They get paid a lot of money to play. The least we should expect is effort from them and from what I have seen from some of the players borders on disdain for the club and its supporters. Ever wondered why we are seeing so many empty seats?
  7. It needs the team to light the blue touch paper. Simple as that. Why should we bother if they can’t.
  8. It didn’t do Rooster Russell any harm. Leicester legend out on the left wing 👍
  9. I couldn’t agree more. I’m heartily sick and tired with slow build up, possession football where it’s easier to pass the ball backwards rather than create anything, tippy tappy to me to you football that bores the hell out of me. Little wonder there is little atmosphere we’ve all been bored into submission with nothing to cheer. I’m hoping that after the Sheffield United debacle we learnt something and have adopted some of their tactics in pressing high and moving the ball with more aggression and more purpose. Please let it not be a one off.
  10. Well said. They would have been there long before we won anything and were truly crap. They would have known the old Filbert Street and have sung and cheered the team along much as our current young supporters do nowadays. They did not jump on the bandwagon once we started winning but over the years have always been there home and away. Maybe a little more respect should be shown to those who kept the club going through some pretty thin times but are now less vociferous as age catches up on them. Up the City!
  11. Hopefully we never see him again. If he is the disruptive influence we are hearing about he should be first on the transfer list and never pull on our shirt again.
  12. I rather like him. He hasn’t been the flair player we had been hoping for but has always worked hard. Not his fault we paid so much for him but now he’s out of the shadow of Winks maybe he will get more game time in his preferred position and make it his own. Great performance against Sheffield Utd and was everywhere yesterday which should give him confidence. Handy having a player who is versatile and can slot in wherever he is needed.
  13. It should serve as an inspiration what can be achieved not by inflated transfer fees but by effort, determination, togetherness, desire to win against the odds and strong leadership. Sadly there are far too few in our current team with these traits and some who are simply treading water and going through the motions with no interest in whether we win or not. Get rid.
  14. If I was earning that sort of money I don't think I would need a psychologist. Within the club there should be a clear culture of what the players should and should not be getting themselves involved in. The whole philosophy should filter down from the chairman, through the senior staff, the senior players, young players and apprentices right down to the tea lady. It's got to be a whole club philiosophy and you're in trouble if you step out of line. This is what made Alex Ferguson such a successful manager and why he could handle all the primadonnas so well. Currently at City there seems to be no corporate direction and everybody is doing their own thing. Top's mind seems to be elsewhere as is his sidekick/lapdog and Cifuentes comes across as too gentle. It's no use sayin we know where the mistakes are bein made and we'll sort them for next time but nothing gets any better next time. And I think we need to look closely at the coaching staff judging by the performances of some. They also shopuld share some of the blame, including Mr King!!!!
  15. He needs to go and the whole culture at City needs to change. Do these t*****s not think what sort of message they are sending to the fans by their behaviour. He should have been carpeted for this but I doubt anything would be done and he will be given the captains armband. It tells you everything you need to know about attitude at the club. No respect for the badge, no respect for the club and even less respect for the fans paying over the top to support them in wind and rain every week whilst they earn megabucks for half hearted effort. Show him the door at the first opportunity. Get James signed as a matter of urgency and make him captain. He’s the only one currently to bust a gut for the team.
  16. Spot on. Let it be a warning that negative attitude will not be tolerated no matter who you are. Tell JV we are no longer slowing the pace down but will be progressing up the field with sharp slick passes. Playing the ball back should no longer be the norm and start bedding in some of our younger players. It would be a lot more exciting than the dross they are currently dishing up week after week.
  17. It was a Jeckyl and Hyde performance. The first half was an absolute disgrace continually tippy tapping the ball until we gave it away cheaply, misplaced passes, slow build up, clueless in possession. The second half was totally different as we played with greater pace and aggression. The inclusion of Soumare and Skipp added more bite and direction. Both made a significant difference. This is what I expect to see from the team and if I never see Winks and Faes in City shirts again it will be too soon. Get them out of the club at the first opportunity.
  18. I suppose I can get a ticket now we’re crap but wouldn’t waste my money on this load of clowns.
  19. To me to you, to me to you…… cos I’m clueless what to do with it.
  20. There’s no comparison of Kramaric with Daka and much as you might try that is not what I said. The point is if you don’t create the chances for your strikers don’t be surprised if they don’t score. If we’re going to threaten we need bodies in the box and quality ball for them to feed off and we’re not doing that.
  21. Wasn’t looking to make excuses. Did I say he was good? No. Quite the contrary so I’m not sure what your point is.
  22. I think you’ve misunderstood. I didn’t insinuate he could be like Kramaric. I made the point that Kramaric struggled because of being isolated up front with poor service.
  23. Tbh none of our strikers have had much service in the box. How many times are crosses over hit (Fatawu) or fail to get past the first man? How many do we pile into the penalty area when a chance is in the offing? I’m not defending any of our strikers because none of them are good but they may be better with better service. Remember a chap called Kramaric who did little at City stuck up front on his own chasing lost causes. Look how good he turned out to be when given the opportunity.
  24. Tbh I look at other teams and they run around like butchers' dogs for the full 90 minutes whereas we look like we can't wait for the whistle to blow cos we've run out of steam. For a long time now I have wondered just how fit our teams are. With the up to date training facilities we have I think it's fair to expect better unless they are all sat in the coffee shop. I will never forget Tielemans huffing and puffing to get back in his last season here and being overtaken by the ref!!! That was pretty disgraceful in my book.
  25. I was thinking more along the lines of Frank McLintock, Ali Mauchlen, Davie Gibson and Alan Young
