I reckon Top and Chansiri have been avoiding each others phone calls for the past 2 weeks. Top thinks Chansiri is calling about the £20 he loaned him for a taxi home in 2014 and Chansiri thinks Top is calling him about that Restaurant tab he picked up
-
I’d take Dyche but he’s behind the 3 you’ve mentioned for sure. All 3 would improve us imo. Hassenhuttl would be a very solid pick for us.
-
Having to pay out Ruud, then needing to bring in full back room staff, then needing to probably pay out £2.5m for Rohl. This managerial error looks like it would cost the club another £6m. I just have this pit of my stomach feeling that it will be Dyche because he’s free and a safe pair of hands. Dyche will look at us as a long term project, Rohl will see us as a stepping stone. I still would rather go for the gamble, Rohl is going straight to the top and Dyche imo doesn’t have the ceiling that DR does, but let’s face it, either of them are miles clear of where the club is right now.

Rohl the ****ing dice. -
I’d say so yeah, but that was just the amount Walton’s were offering for Wednesday, they can afford us easily
-
There were big rumours that the Walton family (owners of Walmart) were willing to spend £100m on Wednesday, but Chansiri being who he is (and set to lose £50m+ as part of that deal) won't sell. If they want to buy a Championship club, right now I'd welcome them with open arms.

For years we have been watching the club being decimated from the inside out, but even though on the pitch it was doom and gloom, the fact we had such a big brand backing the club it somewhat felt like we had a bit of a security blanket, it's okay, we might be in a mess but we have money.... Turns out the entire Empire was being run the same way the club was. It really is sad to see, I'm not a huge fan of generational wealth on this scale, but to completely decimate a multi billion pound company that had a monopoly over an entire industry is wild. The industry got hit hard, but by the looks of it, they carried on spending as if nothing had changed. You'd think with more and more people visiting Thailand year on year since covid this would be the best year for the company of the last 5, but instead they are facing record losses and are potentially unable to service airport contracts worth multiple hundreds of millions. With the mess KP is in right now and Top stepping down as CEO, I really can't see us being much of a priority, bare minimum at best. KP need to sell up.

Not acceptable from Rohls perspective, but with the news over the last few weeks that some people have been paid last months wages at Wednesday and others have not, let's hope Danny is part of that group. AFAIK if he doesn't get paid at the end of the week, he will be free to hand in his notice. Something tells me that Chansiri has probably paid him just so he can't leave, he would be utterly stupid to lose millions for the sake of not paying him 10's thousands. I fully expect Rohl has been drip fed some money so that he can't walk away without compensation but here is to hoping. I just have a funny feeling we are going to go for a freebie.
-
Not my first choice but I do like him and think he is a solution to many of the off pitch problems we face, he's clearly a manager, not just a head coach and I think he would probably build a good foundation for us going forward, I'd take him but there are a few ahead of him.
-
Yeah it’s not the best example but that’s the sort of connections we should be tapping into especially given our financial situation
-
If the points deduction isn't too big, I think we still could have a decent pulling power for some younger fringe players to come on loan from big clubs. Chelsea have just signed 3 wonderkids, one of them is Kendry Paez, he could potentially be the sort of player we could get on a season long loan for development, and with our Maresca connections, if he does love this club could use us as a place to send players for this upcoming season. Would suit us for PSR too. Paez is going to the top imo, but there's just too much competition at Chelsea right now, he would absolutely tear the championship apart as a number 10 which is his main position, but he can also play Right Wing and CM.
-
Could potentially be a good loan move for some players we feel may not get enough game time to develop this season.

Ordinarily I’m of the opinion that the club needs to build a vision and philosophy, then sign head coaches (not managers) and staff around that vision, similar to the Red Bull network. Then when they either get sacked or poached, we sign a new head coach that fits into the mould of the club. We built a foundation under Pearson of signing young, hungry players with a point to prove and clear sell on value, slightly moved away from it under Ranieri and then Puel pulled the club back on track with the transfers he brought in. Since then we’ve dismantled everything that made this club great. I’m slightly of the opinion that right now, we don’t need a head coach, we need a manager who can sort this mess out, drag the incompetent owners into place and then we can build the foundation for the future. I don’t think the owner/board know how to rebuild the foundation that Pearson and Puel were building and they are clearly incapable of bringing in people that can. If we brought in someone massively ambitious as DOF I’d not be so concerned about the head coach as the club would be moving in a clear direction, right now we are completely directionless. If we are not going to bring in another DOF then I think we may need a Puel/Pearson/Dyche mould of manager. That kind of goes against my top pick, but I just can’t see where we are going at the moment apart from backwards, our young exciting players are literally the only reason I even care about this club at the moment.
-
Yep, I don’t want either really as I can’t stand the football but Southgate would be the most KPFC signing ever.
-
If the club are still determined to play boring sideways football wouldn’t be against giving it back to Puel to be honest. It wouldn’t be my first choice at all, but he’s proven as a builder, he has a clear direction, isn’t afraid to drop players and would certainly shift on the deadwood. His record in the transfer market is generally very positive throughout his career, he knows the club, knows the owner and I think would stabilise us and fight for playoffs providing the deduction isn’t stupid. Plenty of others I’d rather go for like Rohl or Hassenhuttl, but Puel could also provide the direction the club needs as a whole, I think most people would agree he would be a very good choice for DOF, if he still wants to manage maybe he’s the sort of person we need to manage on the pitch and drag this incompetent ownership forward off the pitch.
-
Exactly. If the club don’t want him they have to pay for their mistakes, just frustrating to see people then leaping to the conclusion that this is RvNs plan and he has no intention of taking us forward. Seems to me he wants to stay if given the chance, given the fact he was told he would have money in January and now it looks like we need to offload 50m of players in the next couple of weeks and are facing a points deduction, if he does still want to stick around then I’d say that’s a big plus on his character.
-
I do completely understand the speculation on RVN “waiting for a payoff” but I think that’s also being very harsh to him. In my opinion it became clear he wanted to stay on providing he got clarity over the clubs vision and whether it aligned with him. For as many mistakes as he made, I think it’s harsh to just baselessly claim he doesn’t want to be here and he’s just using the club for a payday, I think it’s a bit of a leap to judge his character like that without any real evidence. Maybe he is, but I’ve no evidence to suggest that.

It’s pretty much impossible, but Leicester should be 100% putting their hat in the ring for Ange. You just never know what people might do. It’s not going to happen but it doesn’t hurt to try.

I've been calling for it for a while now. Ralf Rangnick is not in it for the money, he's reportedly earning £2-3m in his Austria post. I'd happily take £5m a season from the transfer budget and give it to him. Him overseeing our club and building us a proper network is worth more than the majority of £5m players we are likely to sign in the future. Ambitious as hell to go for him, but he opted out of his role at United and took the Austria gig, so who knows what he would be open to, advisory role until his time with them ends and then he could take over as DOF? My guess is though, Top would need to prove he is willing to actually change anything in order to bring in the calibre of RR.

Also has a really good contact network. Definitely should be a top 5 target imo. He had some bad days at Southampton and rightly can be criticised but I think it's been evidenced that he was keeping them above water and they were better off keeping him.

They see me ROHL IN.....

Rangers is a great move for Martin. No doubt he would have improved us as a club but I just couldn't watch another season of Enzoball on steroids. It's about time we break away from this obsession with being Man City's B team and actually play the way that built the foundation for our success, high pressing, counter attacking, fast paced football. I watch football to be entertained, long term results obviously matter, but I'd much rather win and be entertained than be bored to sleep and pick up 3 points.

And to make it worse, he didn’t even need to give the position back in the first place. Red Bull assumed they would get a penalty if they didn’t give it back, but the FIA deemed it a racing incident leading up to the collision and were not going to hand out a penalty or force the position to be given up.

He's quite clearly clear of Lando already. WDC for sure
