He's really pragmatic, but having been moulded in the RB system he typically opts for hard pressing, crash and bash style football, but he really seems to cater the system to the opponent rather than having a rigid philosphy. I think the main benefit of Rohl is that his football will compliment the strengths of the team far more than other candidates we are linked with, players like Mavididi and Fatawu perfectly fit the role he gave to Gassama (who I wouldn't mind signing if one of those get sold) and players like Monga will be set free by him, I even think with Daka's pace, if we can just get balls into the box for him to finish like he was doing at Salzburg it might actually help him also. He gave something like 8 debuts in the cup/league last season to youth players so he's not afraid to give the young players a try. Fans would be happy to know that he has also played inverted full backs in the midfield when needed, using Pol Valentin and Marvin Johnson tucked inside in midfield, so if Ricardo stays it's perfect for him, he does like his keepers to play with their feet a lot though so question marks over if Stol can step up.

Agreed. That joke’s been Rohled out more times than our defence under Ruud.
-
You'd hope so at least in solidarity. I'd imagine he's one of the few who did get paid to stop him walking for free
-
Yep those who haven't been paid can hand their notice in and AFAIK even if they got paid tomorrow once the notice is placed only the player can reverse it. We don't have any names but *some* players were paid last week for May, can only assume it's key players being paid so they can't walk, which is a pretty scummy move from Chansiri in itself, I'd imagine many players there want to escape.
-
Wednesdays best hope at this rate is an EFL forced sale. Issues regarding stadium ownership though as Chansiri sold it to himself.
-
There is a staff walkout planned for today too.
-
George looks very fast

If King Power made race starts....
-
To be fair I'd accept a shit sandwich if I was at Wednesday right now
-
If the ownership does make this move and it happens, tiny bit of credit as I can't see a scenario where they came up with this themselves, which means they are actually listening to fans. Shame about the rest of the shitshow.

This. Every single metric that was relevant had us in the bottom 3, there were 2 things keeping us above the drop zone in the table, 1) Vardy had a great start to the season and was scoring/creating 2) Mads Hermansen had an expected goals prevented of almost 7 and was statistically one of the top 5 keepers in Europe under Cooper, but that was down to Mads. Without MADs/Vardy bailing us out every game we would have been firmly in the drop zone, we were outside of the relegation places despite SC imo, not because of him. Pretty much every week we were setting up to survive to the 75th minute and just pray we were either drawing or not 2 goals down. -
I wonder if long term if Top doesn't decide to sell and can still inject cash in when needed, the last few months will finally make him realise he can't just FAFO his way through like he's seemingly been doing for a while. All we can do is hope that if he's staying as owner this saga has been a kick up the backside that was needed to make him wake up and run the business/club properly.

I reckon Top and Chansiri have been avoiding each others phone calls for the past 2 weeks. Top thinks Chansiri is calling about the £20 he loaned him for a taxi home in 2014 and Chansiri thinks Top is calling him about that Restaurant tab he picked up
-
I’d take Dyche but he’s behind the 3 you’ve mentioned for sure. All 3 would improve us imo. Hassenhuttl would be a very solid pick for us.
-
Having to pay out Ruud, then needing to bring in full back room staff, then needing to probably pay out £2.5m for Rohl. This managerial error looks like it would cost the club another £6m. I just have this pit of my stomach feeling that it will be Dyche because he’s free and a safe pair of hands. Dyche will look at us as a long term project, Rohl will see us as a stepping stone. I still would rather go for the gamble, Rohl is going straight to the top and Dyche imo doesn’t have the ceiling that DR does, but let’s face it, either of them are miles clear of where the club is right now.

Rohl the ****ing dice. -
I’d say so yeah, but that was just the amount Walton’s were offering for Wednesday, they can afford us easily
-
There were big rumours that the Walton family (owners of Walmart) were willing to spend £100m on Wednesday, but Chansiri being who he is (and set to lose £50m+ as part of that deal) won't sell. If they want to buy a Championship club, right now I'd welcome them with open arms.

For years we have been watching the club being decimated from the inside out, but even though on the pitch it was doom and gloom, the fact we had such a big brand backing the club it somewhat felt like we had a bit of a security blanket, it's okay, we might be in a mess but we have money.... Turns out the entire Empire was being run the same way the club was. It really is sad to see, I'm not a huge fan of generational wealth on this scale, but to completely decimate a multi billion pound company that had a monopoly over an entire industry is wild. The industry got hit hard, but by the looks of it, they carried on spending as if nothing had changed. You'd think with more and more people visiting Thailand year on year since covid this would be the best year for the company of the last 5, but instead they are facing record losses and are potentially unable to service airport contracts worth multiple hundreds of millions. With the mess KP is in right now and Top stepping down as CEO, I really can't see us being much of a priority, bare minimum at best. KP need to sell up.

Not acceptable from Rohls perspective, but with the news over the last few weeks that some people have been paid last months wages at Wednesday and others have not, let's hope Danny is part of that group. AFAIK if he doesn't get paid at the end of the week, he will be free to hand in his notice. Something tells me that Chansiri has probably paid him just so he can't leave, he would be utterly stupid to lose millions for the sake of not paying him 10's thousands. I fully expect Rohl has been drip fed some money so that he can't walk away without compensation but here is to hoping. I just have a funny feeling we are going to go for a freebie.
-
Not my first choice but I do like him and think he is a solution to many of the off pitch problems we face, he's clearly a manager, not just a head coach and I think he would probably build a good foundation for us going forward, I'd take him but there are a few ahead of him.
-
Yeah it’s not the best example but that’s the sort of connections we should be tapping into especially given our financial situation
-
If the points deduction isn't too big, I think we still could have a decent pulling power for some younger fringe players to come on loan from big clubs. Chelsea have just signed 3 wonderkids, one of them is Kendry Paez, he could potentially be the sort of player we could get on a season long loan for development, and with our Maresca connections, if he does love this club could use us as a place to send players for this upcoming season. Would suit us for PSR too. Paez is going to the top imo, but there's just too much competition at Chelsea right now, he would absolutely tear the championship apart as a number 10 which is his main position, but he can also play Right Wing and CM.
