But I also guess if I were to make a song suited to the creativity and adventurousness of our fans... To the chorus of we're on the ball Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall Dewsbury-Hall There, that should do it.

Bit of Angels by Robbie Williams.... So when I'm lying in my bed Thoughts running through my head And I feel the love is dead I'm loving Kiernan instead DEWSBURY-HALL He offers us protection Can pass in any direction Can run the whole game long DEWSBURY HALL Wherever he may take me I know how proud it'll make me When England come to call He won't forsake me I'm loving Kiernan instead I'm expecting a lot of royalties from this one.

CHAMPIONS OF THE EUROPA CONFERENCE LEAGUE, YOU'LL NEVER SING THAT.
-
I don't think so - we're just making a meal of it. We could have 2 or 3 goals already.

Underwhelming signings that you were wrong about

Phew, that's a relief. Its nice to know that if I ever commit a serious crime, I can just sell my Swiss chalet to pay for it.

How shit must they be, they only scored 2. -
I don't have a problem with it. Not his best, but still gave me a little chuckle. I think context is important, and too often when people are clamouring to be at the front of the outrage queue, the context is ignored. Would I find a comedian funny if he held racist views, and used his standup as a platform to air them? No, not really. But am I supposed to believe that Jimmy Carr hates Roma Gypsies? If so, the list of people and groups that he hates must be extremely long, because he covers pretty much everybody. Or are we saying that it's ok to make jokes about certain groups, but not others? I don't like saying "This topic should be off limits". Which tragic events can we make jokes about. The titanic? The Battle of Hastings? The problem is, it's quite subjective. A joke about Grenfell, I'd probably cringe rather than laugh. A joke about the HIndenberg? I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid. Both tragic, only difference is the passage of time between them. Back to the joke itself. The joke works because Roma Gypsies are still often a marginalised group in our society. If you look at the joke past the surface level, my interpretation is that it holding a candle to the fact that while many groups are now quite well protected, society still often holds unsavoury views about this group (undoubtedly true). If your takeaway from this is "Jimmy Carr hates Gypsies", then I feel you rather missed the point. But if you don't like it, fair enough don't watch it.

That's alright, because Leicester City haven't been included in the Europa league.

Summer 2022 priorities (and realistic options)
Charl91 replied to Allenho11's topic in Transfer Talk
Agree on most, but not these. Soumare -. Have not been impressed by him at all, but I think we'd find it difficult to get rid of him at the moment. Albrighton and Amartey - I would keep purely on the basis of covering injuries. Neither should be starting at this point, but you're never going to get world class players to sit on the bench. They're good enough to do a job for a couple of games in an emergency. Lookman - He is hit and miss, but I think most wingers are. He's had some poor games, but in general I think he's good enough as at least a super-sub or as a rotation option. -
This season is done. I'd rather give a new manager time to assess the squad, and see who they do/don't like, and what needs to be improved. The financial issue is a worry though.

I'm far from the Tories biggest fan, but the "9 Billion Overspend" is a little overblown. We needed PPE and everyone was trying to buy it - we were going to have to pay a huge premium, and if we hadn't, we would instead have been running stories like "Tories don't want to spend money to save our doctors". I'm more interested in how many sneaky backhanders were given to their friends in those payments.

Emile isn't in the dictionary. Literally unplayable. (Wordle guessed in 2/6 Try this wordle: https://mywordle.me/?word=bcohd ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 #mywordle Yes, I too did try Vardy first)

I think I'm firmly in the out camp, now. Even if we were getting results, the way we always try to "protect" a 1 - 0 lead is boring as ****.

Maybe he makes a great coffee?

Isn't that what people do when they give to charity...?

Generally on what you believe to be best for the country as a whole. For me, personal finances would be a factor, but certainly not the only one; sadly, I was cursed with something called 'empathy'. I'd have sympathy for people on the breadline for voting for their own financial gain over everything else, but for people who are reasonably well off, you'd like to hope that they'd consider what was best for the country as a whole. Would I see this Government in charge again if it meant I got a 10% payrise? Absolutely not. There's a name for someone who will readily put morals and ethics aside in order to further their own wealth. It's Boris.
-
Sad state of affairs when all that matters is personal "financial interests". I wouldn't want to tell my kids "well, yes I voted for these morally bankrupt wankstains, but now we can afford an extra juice blender".

5/6 today. Had a very bad run at the start.
-
Soz, didn't notice that! Taken it down. Though it's a rookie error to go into the wordle thread before wordling!

First one in 2/6. Think it's all downhill from here Edit: taken out picture

He holds up the ball much better than Gray, and puts in more of a defensive shift most of the time. I'd say getting rid of Gray and bringing in Lookman is good business. Maybe he's not the world class RW we'd like to go with Barnes, but he's definitely good enough as a rotation option / bring on in the 60th minute. 100x better than having Perez on the wing, that's for sure

What a cracking player we have on our hands.

Can't argue with his performance today!!
