I'm a teacher, and will be striking. I didn't strike previously (around 2015/2016) but definitely will be this time around. I used to take to heart all the comments about "lazy teachers". However, I've long since accepted they're from people that, sadly, have been failed by the education system. So maybe in a roundabout way it's penance that teachers deserve.

So it resembles a fact, but isn't one?

This just proves that the Lizardman Constant is a little higher than the usually touted 4%.

I'd stop watching football.

Newcastle Away - League Cup Quarter Final Pre Match
Charl91 replied to Stevosevic's topic in Leicester City Forum
Ahh, shalom! -
If you look at his career stats, he averages a Premier league goal every 180 minutes - so 1 in 2, as well as getting an assist about one in 3 games. He's good enough to start. He needs to be playing.

Don't think we've had anyone more hard done by in our squad than him.

Vardy is done and has been for a while. He could be 48 and there would people be saying "he just needs service and a run of games" -

World Cup Final - Argentina vs France - Sunday 18th December
Charl91 replied to StanSP's topic in General Football and Sport
We did. Walker pretty much pocketed Mbappe. It wasn't Mbappe that scored a screamer from outside the box, or Girouds goal, or missed our second pen. -
I liked season 7 and 8 about equally. Maybe even slightly preferred 8. But season 9 was one of, if not the worst. David Baddiel and Jo Brand? Eurgh.

Even something simple like wanting to do the 3 weekend at Download festival. Can't take a Friday off, so I'd have to miss 70% of that day by the time I get there.

And yet, there are some people who have decided that instead of just complaining about their situation, they're going to take action to change their circumstances... ....and you've decided to sit and whinge about them. Ironic, really.

Been teaching for 8 years now. When people ask me about getting into teaching, I tell them not to bother. I think most points have been well made earlier on in this thread. The point I always like to make is, if its such an easy, well paid job, why is teaching not over subscribed? Seems to go against all the market principles that the people I have these discussions with are usually so fond of. Also I think this chart is quite telling.

Don't know who she is or what her views are. I just found the comment funny!

I think people are getting a little ahead of ourselves. Yes, we might be 3 - 0 up. But I'm more than a little anxious about the fact that we're passing it to players that aren't our centre backs. Not only that, but we've actually got less than 80% possession, and I've even seen our players go past the half-way line. Worrying signs, this isn't how football is played.

Liz?

If Spurs scoring 10 meant that Rodgers would definitely be gone, I'd take that all day long. Spurs scoring 10 would obviously be awful, but better that then lose the next 10 games with Rodgers still in charge.

How does it compare to the number of asylum seekers that usually enter the country? I don't have the facts, so I could be way off, but I'm sure I remember reading/hearing that many of the legitimate schemes for helping asylum seekers have closed down. Similarly its now trickier for them to get across via lorries, etc. So it's difficult to known how sustainable / out of the ordinary it is without all the data. It may appear that we have many more than usual if you just focus on how many come via boat, but are these just people who would have traditionally come via other methods? I don't actually know the answer to this to be fair, but I'm too lazy to check. In my opinion though, the biggest tragedy is the percentage of genuine asylum seekers that have to resort to risky boat crossings. The fact that there's a huge risk of loss of life on these crossings, but they risk them anyway, shows you how shit their situation must be.

Should have trained for losing his mum a bit better.

FFS come on, show a little respect. Boris has only been gone a few days!

Can't say I'm particularly upset - I didn't know her. But in terms of everything you'd want a queen/king to do, she did a smashing job.

NWL here. Went to bed late at 2am-ish, and can confirm there was indeed a large thunderstorm.

I am shocked. How on earth are only just starting to think that?
