if enzo does decide to go to sevilla at the end of the season (after gaining promotion) , i’m fully convinced on Mark Robins now. We could use a bit of his fight in what will be a very tough season. Seems to get the most out of a pretty average squad. He had that dabo guy last season looking championship level and this season he couldn’t get a game at the team bottom of league 2.

very weird given our situation that iversen has come out and said he asked to leave in the summer and we said no to a sale, and no to a loan. He never looked in competition for a spot.

I can’t see that being the case with Cannon as he’s really just not getting a look in. If he was getting on for 15 mins or something you’d think maybe that was the case. But let’s face it, he wasn’t used until he had to be used. Then as soon as enzo got an excuse to drop him again he took it. The last time he got minutes he was pushed out to the wing (unless i’m forgetting a later appearance). And even in that unnatural position he got a great assist and it should have been 2 but someone missed a pretty easy chance. I think he doesn’t fit what enzo wants in a striker. The fact he will take pot shots and is very forward thinking probably doesn’t sit well with him. As any loss of possession is seen as a negative. I think we all liked what we saw from him and that’s why there’s a lot of head scratching on this, as everyone else has struggled.

you’d imagine that if we don’t go up Opoku will be integrated to the first team. I really liked what I saw of him last season but for whatever reason he’s not kicked on this year. I still think theres a decent prospect in there though. Hoping he just hits a mcateer type trajectory

I get that but we have to re-set expectations. If we had dyer, nugent or even kingy in their prime, this season they would be absolutely hated.

i don’t understand why so many of our fans underrate kdh so much. The only clear reason, is that so many of you previously slated him for a lack of technical ability, so you really want to prove yourselves right. I think most can see that he’s drastically improved and is getting closer to his potential now and will likely continue to improve. That’s why so many top clubs are sniffing, because they can all see it. Everyone has bad games. Maddison had them often. We are just such an entitled fan base these days, that we expect a player to not go through bad form. I personally think he’s another that would shine and his talent will only be appreciated once he’s left. when you have europa league everyone talks about how it’s so tough with the extra games…. the championship already had 8 extra, it’s a slog. Yet kdh has been solid for 85% of it. Doesn’t half wind me up. But if people couldn’t see the talent with barnes and maddison than there’s just no pleasing our lot.

to me, he always looked dangerous. Even in the games we didn’t perform well he still seemed to create something out of nothing. Against coventry for example he randomly hit a snap shot that could have easily gone in. It’s that type of instinct that we’ve not had all season. Nobody creates opportunities for themselves. Have you even seen another striker hit one from outside the box? It’s possible that’s why enzo doesn’t like him but I want my striker to be confident enough to shoot on-sight. If we’d persisted with cannon he only would have improved further and i truly believe we wouldn’t be in this situation. Cannon for 60 vardy for 30 would terrorize teams and have left them having to consistently deal with a sharp vardy full of energy.

you say that but i’m not sure there is anything wilf does that winks can’t. The only real loss would aerial ability but i’m sure we’d adapt. He’d play more of a similar role to the one youri was in

this might not be the game for it… but id consider dropping winks and playing a second striker or 10. Or let winks play 8 with wilf dropping out

The large problem is that enzo appears to be a coach and not a manager. He doesn’t want to manage the squad. He doesn’t want to manage the game. He just wants to coach. Doesn’t look like management is for him imo. Don’t pretend it’s all about principles and philosophy, if it’s not working then you ‘manage’ by adapting.
