  1. problem is, it’s just far too easy to poach. More and more you see it happening. Becomes a frustrating affair when the big clubs have very little to stop them swooping in for someone you’ve spent years developing
  2. they will probably reduce evertons punishment after the season. They just want to add some spice to the relegation fight for now
  3. Taking my Leicester hat off, im not so sure. The 2 seasons we dropped out of the champions league places so dramatically, were for a few obvious reasons. One, is that in both seasons we were over performing at the start, something that was always likely to catch up with us. Secondly because the people chasing us have unlimited resources and were always going to throw everything at improving. Finally, the injurys stacked up in the crazy covid periods and we had no resources to replace them adequately in january. This season, we arent over performing... we are just better than this level. Our rivals wont get much stronger than they already were and finally, our squad depth is actually strong enough now. We only have an issue in the winks role and maybe the 8 role, but in truth thats probably being greedy as both Casadai and Yunus are pedigree players, its not like we are pulling youth team players inot the mix.... but on that front, should we have to.... both Alves and Braybrooke, with good recoveries... could yet still improve us when they get the chance. I'll grant you that one of the chasers could have a better 19 games than us... but the chances of 2 of them hitting the pace needed... is so unlikely.
  4. Perfect, send them Ward
  5. Well doesn’t this just summarize exactly how guilty they are. Ignore the rules until they’ve been punished. Should have been aiming to meet the requirements all along. Absolutely no sympathy whatsoever
  6. i’m a firm believer in loans, but I don’t think you can read too much into the age of the pro. If the right deal isn’t there, it hinders the development. McAteer at FGR is a great example of that. Same with some of Nelson’s early moves. KDH didn’t go on loan until he was about 22. There are some just kept around to make up the numbers, but there’s still some argument that certain players will develop more in a development squad than a lower league loan. Maswanhise could be a good example of that. Not sure he’s the type of player that would learn from long balls and getting smashed everytime the ball comes near him in league 2. Maybe we develop him until he’s ready for league 1 and his game benefits more. Everyone’s different. I do absolutely think we should be having more players on loan and we’re not doing good enough. But what’s more concerning, is that without any of our prospects out on loan… our under 21s are still awful.
  7. spot on. No youth team will cover the 300k everyone is getting weekly… then they ended up keeping a player like colwill who would have got good money. Not to mention the fact they are not going to be in the champions league for the foreseeable future. I doubt the new owners even realised how financially important the champions league (or any european football was) They’ve spent more than anyone the last 2 years, gordon ramsey couldn’t cook those books
  8. Is luke thomas being put in the shop window, by getting him some goals?
  9. blimey absolutely forgot smithies existed
  10. hope that both them and chelsea don’t get their punishment until next season. 40 points off of both would be lovely
  11. I thought winks and kdh were great. Didn’t deserve to be on a losing side
  12. You just knew what was coming. Keep mavididi and cannon on the full 90 and simply we keep the ball in their half more… that may have been all that was needed. Personally was sat at half time thinking, when these commit stephy will have them on toast, so was very shocked to see him pulled
  13. if we could get doughty to fit our system, i’d take him in a heartbeat
  14. starting for sevilla tonight
  15. Stephen Merchant is my least favourite journalist
  16. potentially the club are being cautious and only making financial deals that would work if we ended up staying down. My personal guess is this is purely a praet out sensi in situation and if he, or torino p*ss about again it won’t happen. Can’t carry both of their wages
  17. I found a really interesting fact about him when doing some thorough research. Of the 40 games Monza played last season, he only missed 10
  18. You forget the key thing, that probably tricked us to sign him in the first place…. he’s a very good at savings penalty’s. But how someone so bad at one-on-ones made it this high in the game, is quite flabbergasting.
  19. going on loan to a team who were always going to be dominated on a weekly basis wasn’t exactly what he needed. But we weren’t in a position to loan him to a team in the championship at the time… we could send him to any team now without a concern. Somewhere like birmingham or hull would be ideal
  20. I could be wrong but do you think this guy might remind enzo of himself a bit? seem to have similarities in their styles
  21. he was always a true gent, may have been an awful choice at the time but his heart was always in it. Terrible to hear!
  22. the romantic in me says that this will be the next cambiasso. But the pessimist in me….. just needs to stfu… it’s going to be the next cambiasso
  23. depends if you count sowah and diabate. pretty sure we made money on wright and the lad who went to derby and only scored screamers. I want to say lawrence? Got a mil for hirst as well didnt we?
