I know we’ve been severely burnt but if we are going to be successful with the rebuild we will need some experienced professionals. But we need ones with the right personality. It’s easy to think we should avoid it after ayew, coady etc but if we bring in a real leader/ model professional it will genuinely have a huge impact on what will likely be a squad littered with youth players. tavernier, Milner or the like might seem classic Leicester on paper but if the attitude is right it works. Our issue has been the older players we’ve brought in have all been terrible influences and are all coming for the wrong reasons. we need some strong characters. I would be happy if lascelles signed. I think he seems to have his head screwed on compared to the rest of this lot

Football wise, even if we get things like the signings right, it will be the same focus on boring over possession football. Best case scenario the football will still be a terrible watch for us

When do you think your passion will come back? im so lost with it right now, i care but im still so numb to it. Im not convinced winning league 1 would be enjoyable. I just think there’s a hollow feeling set in now. it feels like you worked really hard on football manager and won it all. But your little brother started playing tanked everything and you’re back where you started. If it was a game, you’d just turn it off and be done with it. That’s where I’m at now. I’m just not sure how those old feelings come back. When I compare my emotions fighting to survive when we first got relegated and now it’s night and day. After losing to Sheffield Wednesday I remember feeling like the world was ending… I couldn’t comprehend us dropping and when we did it really put me into a period of mourning. But the last 2 years I’ve just shrugged and accepted it is what it is. I’m not sure I have any f’s left to give. I never thought I’d lose that special place for this club but I just don’t feel it anymore. It’s awful. The thing I cared about more than anything now feels like a random hobby… which it was always more than. I even wonder if there’s anyone left who still gets the enjoyment from this anymore, we won it all, we had the best memory’s imaginable, how can we repeat what we experienced? We simply can’t. And I don’t know what it would take to bring back the hope, the blind faith and even just the misery… I don’t mind feeling disappointed. What I don’t like is the apathy… it just all feels like pointless self torture.

The rot was always there, the mould was slowly growing and was always going to take over. The earliest clear evidence that we were not a professional club was the Adrian Silva 14seconds. I’m not sure anyone truly understood the level of idiocy needed to allow that situation to happen. You don’t get that at league 2 clubs. The good people at the club were slowly leaving for a long period of time with standards slipping consistently. People look at it as what amazing success we had rather than the humongous missed opportunities we had due to horrific behind the scenes management.

What was all the guff about players not having the fight then only swaps 2 of them. One of them a young lad on loan who has actually tried.

Of course they will. How long did it take for fans to stop saying kdh wasn’t good enough. The myth about how he won’t make it because he’s too one footed. Our fans always say we need to give youth a chance but then can’t accept the mistakes that happen along the way are simply just mistakes. I think we will have accidentally played a blinder not getting braybrooke into league 1 in Jan. Because if he’d gone and smashed it, we definitely would have lost him to a savvy club.

Last time we went down we were in a perfect moment for it after years of stagnation. We got rid of lots of problem characters. We had great recruitment, brought in the right manager even had Andy king coming through the academy. We won’t get the manager right or the recruitment. I’d go as far as saying we are just as likely to get relegated as promoted. Certainly wouldn’t go in to it expecting to walk it. Sunderland were in a similar position and found themselves stuck for a while.

That’s that then. I mean we knew it anyway but thought we’d at least take it to the final day. Kinda funny that we may well have gone down even without the -6

I know daka is an easy joke, but he has gone up massively in my estimations over the last month. It literally feels like he’s the only player trying his hardest for the club right now. He might not be very good but for me he’s the only player that seems desperate to turn things around.

Anyone else worried he ends up saying something to tarnish the legacy like ulloa? Not sure I can take any more disappointment this year
