I don't think you can blame fans for wanting have some sort of connection between the stands and the team. It's been non-existent for over 2 years now. Much rather someone with an immediate connection to the club who will resonate with the fans like Fuchs than some "grew up somewhat near north east Spain so he must be like Pep Guardiola right" type twat.

Yes but that's Manchester United. Ferguson did not sign players without quality just because they were hard workers. It was always both because they were in the position to get both. We simply will not be able to attract quality players with the right mindset unless they come from our academy or we get lucky and snag a few gems. League 1 will undoubtedly be an absolute slog and we'll probably have to make do with workhorses that can't hit a barn door. That said, bring it on. It'll be nice to support a team that actually works hard.

Shame that people are looking to target or blame a young footballer for showing a bit of passion and fighting spirit in an interview. If his team mates had half of his motivation we wouldn't be in this mess. I have no problem with him having confidence and positivity.

Chelsea remind me a little bit of us in our 1st relegation season. Three stand out players in midfield yet they cannot play together as a 3. Meaning they've ended up having to play their best player out wide to keep him in the team. They'd be better off getting rid of Fernandez IMO. Bring in a proper midfield general to play alongside Caicedo and let Palmer run the game in his natural position. Someone like Tonali would be a good signing for them and would improve them.
