  1. Collymore mentions his Aston Villa contract in this tweet and how it had to be settled up before transferring to us!
  2. This is what I tried to paste before! So if Collymore is correct, simply getting rid of our high earners like Vestergaard, if they have not asked for a transfer makes the situation even worse. This also likely leads into the situation whereby we loan players out for a fee, which then covers the wages partially.

  4. At this rate, I’m not sure we do anything incoming. We’ll empty the squad then basically try and stay in the championship. May as well wave the white flag now.
  5. Fofana has kept some of the Leicester posts ….. Loan back
  6. I feel for Winks really. We’ve all played with inferior players, no matter what level you play football at. Those around you can make you look worse by standing still and not finding space. For all we know, he could be purely frustrated with what’s going on at the club. I do think dropping Page in might improve things, however these are basically young players we’re looking to be our saviours. They aren’t the class of ‘92 so we need to temper people’s expectations on them really. Mens football is a massive step up. 99% of footballs don’t make the grade. We maybe need to drop in Nelson, Alunko, Page, Evans, Alves and Monga and they all then need to hit the ground running. We could truly have a team of largely academy players if we sell everyone, with McAteer, Choudhury, Stolarkzyk and Thomas as well. It would be practically unheard of to succeed with that level of home grown players.
  7. Yes; I guess it’s that old adage that football games aren’t won on paper. We “should” have the best squad on paper. We’ll be gutted further and at this point I’m not sure we add anyone further. We’re going to implode at this point if it carries on like this.
  8. Yes, it isn’t happening. I changed my prediction after last weekend. Major reality check for me.
  9. If you think about it and we really are selling off players before the transfer ends, we could field this team. Stolarkzyk Thomas Okoli Vestergaard Choudhury Skipp Soumare Monga Mavididi McAteer Ayew ….. that’ll be your first team squad with the likes of Fatawu, El Khannous, Winks and Justin gone.
  10. RvN and Cooper …… hold my beer.
  11. Perez did a job. I’ll die on that hill. We were a better “team” with him in it.
  12. If we sell Fatawu, El Khannous and Winks in the next week, we’ve basically given up haven’t we?

    Fatawu

I can see why they’d want him. I can also see Sunderland staying up. I can also see why he’d want to leave. We are a mess and this would be another nail in the coffin.
  14. Yes, valid points actually. So you got a soft wall of protection. That region will be hostile for years to come though, if it wasn’t already.
  15. So it sounds like Putin told Trump in Alaska, in order for the war to end, the following needs to happen: Ukraine not to join NATO Ukraine aren’t getting land back With today’s meeting, if you’re Zelensky, that’s a tough thing to accept, however knowing it brings an end to the bloodshed do you concede? The major concern will always be that Russia kicks off again, as the no NATO thing is the thing that stops stuff like this happening. I personally, wouldn’t take that deal.
  16. I guess the questions remain about Itauma, is can he take a punch from the likes of Joshua or Dubois.
  17. Yes, Hermansen seemingly didn’t have a great day at the office either yesterday. He was routed to his line for the two headers and beaten by a shot from the edge of the area to at was across him. The West Ham fans aren’t exactly happy.
  18. This was the tipping point in my opinion.
  19. Yes, it was definitely out of character from him yesterday. It happens and it’s the hardest job on the pitch as you have nowhere to hide. Let’s hope it stays a one off, rather than unsettles him.
  20. I don’t think he’ll look to sell the club outright if I’m honest. If a sale was in discussion or even close, you don’t sell key assets and de-value it. With the challenges that King Power are currently facing and Aiyawatts role now being Chairman, he’ll have less impact on the day to day runnings of the business. We are all assuming what’s actually happening with King Power, however it’s clear they had a wobble and the ripples from that will undoubtedly impact ourselves. What I can see happening now, is them trying to “right size” us so that we turn a profit. That in turn then makes us less competitive on the pitch unless we can keep a conveyor built of talent rolling out of Seagrave. What is maybe more evident at this point is the couple of loans we took out more recently from the bank, are now most likely being used to cover running costs at the club. We haven’t re-invested money and with no rumours on us doing so, it’s debatable at this stage on whether we will. We were rumour to have cut off £330k per week from the first team player bill in July when the likes of Vardy, Iversen, Ward, Eduoard, Buonanotte etc left. We’ll potentially see Thomas, Stolarkzyk, Ricardo, Justin, Soumare, Daka, Ayew and Alves leave the club in 10 months time. Were most likely looking at another £500k a week with that lot. To put that into perspective, that reduced the outgoings of the club by the best part of £40m+ per year. It was made pretty clear everyone was for sale once we were relegated, so some of those may go earlier. We do have a bloated squad. We are currently asset stripping the club in reality, as anyone with an ounce of talent will be moved on if we can make profit. This is why we’ll potentially see people move on for less than they’re valued at. If the strategy is to cut the high earners and focus on talent we produce at Seagrave, then it would be nice to see us invest in some top quality coaches and scouts, and let us hear from them. The fans need to appreciate though that we’ll likely have a team full of inexperienced players and well Miranda around in the Championship and maybe even League One. Worst case scenario is they liquidate Leicester City football club. The stadium is currently owned by another King Power shell company. It’s now apparent that we are not investing to grow that any further. If Seagrave gets moved or sold, that would also get the alarm bells ringing. I don’t think that will happen though, as we’ve still got a steady income stream. I believe the model was always to get us into the Premier League to promote King Power. We were a massive advert in one way. That goal has been achieved and we are now just a burden which they want to downsize and let tick along, potentially breaking even at best.
  21. He went a bit Danny Ward yesterday. No idea what he was thinking for the first Preston goal. He was in no man’s land. Then the 2nd one, he’s basically given him 90% of the goal to aim at and gone all starfish. A very bad day at the office.
  22. I think the only thing you get a response from King Power, is if someone blew up the Vichai statue.
  23. I’ll defend him for now, however I don’t think 95% of the forum would play Soumare.
  24. This has been a reality check for me and our expectations. Hopefully it is to those at the football club as well.
