  1. Barnes made just surprised he doesn’t get more game time

    Daka

We hold on and win the game 0:1 he is being raved about and gets an 8 rating (note he wasn’t on the pitch for any of their goals) Cut’n’paste and over to the Mavadidi thread I go….
  3. He barely touched the ball because he lost every 50/50 he was involved in (not just me that also comes from write ups) I said last night watch him for the first 2 goals he doesn’t know what he should do so does nothing, edge of the box then in the box he is there but just seems to float about neither challenging or even getting goal side he’s waiting for a team mate to take control, yes there is a comedy of errors within the box but That isn’t me slagging him off per’se it’s me saying he’s not ready yet, he needs to stay in this division with a middle of the road club to get games and grow. I also notice and this is just my opinion, that he has that look about him (in training videos, social updates etc) of a player that believes he has made it already. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone told me that he was a player Conor alluded to on the Lineker podcast in that section about seniors offering advice to young players but them not taking it. (I think that’s me slagging him off now)
  4. No chance if we keeping him and we do go up then he needs to stay in the championship and get games for sure
  5. He could not have put McAteer on 🤷‍♂️ watch him for the first 2 goals he doesn’t know what to do!
  6. 4.5yrs for Dani Alves https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-68368372
  7. “There's one phrase which stands — as long as we have 11 we will go for it,” Klopp said. “That's all I can promise.” Liverpool had close to a full lineup of first-teamers sidelined for the Premier League match against Luton, with Klopp needing to draft in a bunch of academy players on Wednesday. Is the headline..... yet they still managed to field 9 full Internationals & the other 2 starters are involved in ENG U21s with Elliott on the verge of a full call up. They also had 4 senior full internationals; Robertson, Tsimikas, Adrian & Konate sat on a bench of 9. As for the bunch of academy players it was only Jayden Danns who was making his 1st, 1st team appearance & he got just 1 minute. But plucky Liverpool still managed to wrestle a win from the jaws of defeat by the Premier league powerhouse Luton.
  8. ooh ok I just couldn't believe the cost of them that is all
  9. did you say come here Conor look at this, this'll make you laugh, they want £35 for a bloody bobbly hat..35£ Conor 35 i ask ya
  10. Yeah very weird way of doing this basically who ever was the higher 'cup' seed from the finalists got the home advantage but its a cup why not play at Twickers as that w/end is free with ENG playing in FRA on Super Sat'dee.
  11. Tigers through to Premiership cup final v Gloucester on the 15th March. Was a hard thought win v Ealing which at 1 point could have gone either way. Ealing have some top talent through out taken from Wasps, L Irish & Worcester as well as 3 ex Tigers but you'd expect a win for Tigers despite fielding a fair amount of 2nd/3rd string players. What it proved thou was we are in desperate need of some quality Props, after Cole & Heyes i wouldn't be that upset at seeing Hurd, Cronin, Richardson & Van Wyk all moved on only giving Whitcombe a pass as only just coming through really & not had enough outings to say he's going to be good or bad.
  12. Upamecano 2 🛑 in 4 days 😂
  13. Really chuffed for Draper she must be buzzing, she’s certainly going places in the game
  14. Be nice to see Draper have a good 15-20mins at the end if we can wrap this up early. Edit: Frig
  15. Just reeks of desperation what are they going to use/ do with his ‘expert’ opinion, is he still in the inner circles of the PGMOL & have access to match reports etc etc or could they just employ you & I to give our opinions as surely it holds the same weight subjectively?
  16. We are a funny bunch on how we all see the game, I would have Praet down as 1 of those that came away with any credit to speak of and certainly 1 of his better showings. He put in quite a shift especially in the 1st half where he was left, right, back & front picking up the slack from an out of sorts KDH, that’s not to say he was ineffective in the 2nd but things changed on both sides meaning he didn’t have to run around everywhere but trying to get through an 11 player wall (they didn’t need to commit by then) was a struggle for all. Took a look at Jordan Blackwell’s player ratings and he also saw him as star man with the only 7 the rest ranged 4-6. I know there will be a lot of what does Jordan know but can’t really knock him for his scores and comments.
  17. Did we see a nod to a plan b at the end there with balls being lumped into the box and Vestergaard staying up. Sadly didn’t work as other than Vestergaard we don’t have any height and everything was being comfortably dealt with and then unfortunately the focal point for these balls is not aggressive enough at attacking a ball and prefers the ball to come to him, Souttar would be a better option in that instance but then can he do the feet work? We might need this tactic next season but on todays showing it didn’t work.
  18. Some people are do’ers others like to sit whinge and wait for others to present a solution into their laps 😘
  19. Create a WhatsApp group 🤷‍♂️
  20. Can we close the thread by stating the common denominator of poor stadium atmospheres isn’t the old, the new, the young, the lady folk, the timid, the large the small or whatever else that has been quoted…but the simple introduction of seating. Sitting down suppresses our impulses it’s as simple as that, this goes for our stadium and every other stadium in the country. Anyone pointing to a stadium in Germany, Italy, Turkey wishing our fans were like these look they are on their feet (and have pyros in most cases) in the main. Take any music concert it is a totally different atmosphere if standing or sitting for both the crowd and the artist, it’s no different. Artists & choirs don’t sit to belt out a number they are up on their feet moving and reacting to the energy of a dancing crowd they only go and sit when doing a slow Love ballad to bring everyone down to feel the emotion in the song. I’d wager any artist prefers to perform in front of a 15k standing crowd than a 25k sitting crowd, where as their financial management team would rather the reverse. Any away fans section, ours included, sounds better because ‘their’ away it’s not ‘their’ patch & they want to stick it to the police, stewards home fans and those 1-3k fans are more likely to ignore rules & regulations and stand for the majority of the game more so than if at home in your ST seat…and once stood it frees the impulses to engage…..arrgghhhh make it stop please.
  21. The 1 year in 1 year out isn’t sustainable because as soon as you get in you need to firstly reward, you need to manage the heightened profile of players and coaching staff from poachers and you need to invest to sustain the additional competition. Once in the model changes as much as they / we would like to think it doesn’t.
  22. Chelsea linked to Toney and Ferguson, can actually see Toney doing well there more so than say Arsenal. Brighton have already said Ferguson will be a +100m player so not sure they will go for him without having a big clear out although Boehly does strike me as a guy that orders the most expensive wine on the menu just because it’s the most expensive not because it will complement the meal. I’d say Toney is what Chelsea need right now

    Recession

I know we like to sit & wallow in our own self pity here in the UK but looking further afield & surprised nothing mentioned already is that Japan the worlds 3rd largest economy also slipped into recession. This pushed Germany up to 3rd but that in its self doesn't paint a true picture of how Germany is doing because they are curently holding back the growth of the EU's overall economy along with France, Italy & Spain as well as a host of the smaller nations. The whole worlds financially unstable at the minute with the exception of US & China i guess but the good thing is that whilst we have dipped into a recession the forecast is short for us
  24. I kind of agree with @Happy Fox in that for all the high praise Brighton get (& especially on here) what have they done, where are they going & for how long? There's a lot being said about their recruitment but this just seems to be a, get in quick so we can flip them, type of recruitment not so much to build a team for the longterm. If we look beyond the stupid money they received last summer (mostly from Caicedo) they received €195m they paid out €109m in incomings they did much the same the previous season with those incomings only staying 1 season. Note that like us buying the Mahrez's, Kante's of the world it soon dry's up & the outlay starts to chip away at what you receive back in sales. They currently sit 9th & i can see Chelsea over taking them shortly yet they have spent €109m there would be murders on here if lets say we had spent €109m in a single season & sat 9th & slipping. The highest they have finished is 6th & that's the only time they have finished above us since they came back up, this was last season when we were relegated. I see them very much like Southampton were long time ago churning out talent but not really getting anywhere or winning anything. The only reason i mentioned Brighton is they now have a model & De Zerbi would be putting his recommendations in place for his successor not because i see them as long term top 6 chasers because we know it can't last for clubs like us, Brighton, West Ham, Brentford, Everton etc
  25. Can see Potter going to West Ham i'd be more worried about Brighton as i'm sure they have already taken notice of Enzo along with high praise coming from De Zerbi who i don't see being there much longer with all the incoming changes
