What is it about Weghorst I don’t see that has stopped FT from going nuts about paying a potential £5-6m fee for a 32yr old (2 weeks tomorrow) who will probably want a 3yr contract playing no more than 10 games worth as a back up option in that entire period, what’s happened to you guys?

Delap went to Ipswich for £20m, Kasey’s numbers were up with him last season despite playing half the minutes 🤷♂️

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
BKLFox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
How the powers that be believe points deductions are the best way to deal with rule breaking is beyond me, they only need look at Reading Fc who currently find themselves in League 1 within 9/10yrs of being in the Premier lge & trying to establish themselves. Jumping up to the top tier puts any clubs Opex onto a different scale, taking Reading as an example, they would have found wages dramatically increased coupled with larger transfer fees born out of trying to get better players coupled with fending off other clubs for those targets. After achieving promotion & then new ownership they set about a long term vision for success & built a new state of the art (not on our scale) training ground, it then suddenly all went to pot & i think in the past 3-4 seasons have been deducted around 18 points thus far & what's the damage:- As mentioned they find themselves in Lg1 with little hope of climbing out, they have already sold The Majeski Stadium to a company controlled by their very bad owner, they are/were in talks with Wycombe Wanders to sell that new training ground after only 5yrs of use & most recently look to have to fold their Womens side of the football club as unable to financial support, their female team & academy was a very good set up (in the womens game) & it fed a lot of the bigger clubs especially Chelsea, it's a sad outcome. Of course the owner holds a lot of blame & he doesn't have the best rep but points deductions don't truely hurt him as through the backdoor still owns the stadium, the accompanying hotel & i'm sure in someway the training ground land after any potential sale, the people hurting from these deductions are the local employees to the club, the fans, the community & the existence of the club itself the 4 things FFP/PSR was brought in to protect, its total BS. The owners need to take the hit with hefty personal fines its the only way they will truly manage debt if they see it hurts their own bank account, of course to the likes of the saudi state & oil clubs it won't really trouble them but at the same time Billionaires arn't Billionaires because they don't manage their own personal wealth. -

Why is Bellingham getting a free pass on here & by most pundits, he's being carried currently & just needs a rest yet its Foden that keeps being sub'd. Bellingham will come good but should have been rested in the group stages because now its a 1 game shoot out & it will be a huge call to drop him to the bench although 1 that i think needs making seeing as its Slovakia we are playing & not France. You can see it in him that he knows he's not firing on all cylinders, he's actually being a little petulant when things don't go his way & i can see him swinging for a player or leaving something on a player out of frustration & ending up missing the rest of the Euro's with a Red & he'll find himself in a Beckham situation. We have the cover, he needs to 'start' from the bench & if all going well hopefully he gets a full 9 days rest & be ready for the 1/4s...qu's then remain if he should continue as 10 which on current form suggests not. -

Piece in the Times:_ The Premier League has warned clubs that selling players to and from each other in order to comply with financial rules could breach regulations about acting in good faith. "Its rule B15 states: “In all matters and transactions relating to the league each club, official and director shall behave towards each other club, official, director and the league with the utmost good faith. For the avoidance of doubt and by way of example only, it shall be a breach of the duties under this rule to act dishonestly towards the league or another club; or engage in conduct that is intended to circumvent these rules or obstruct the board’s investigation of compliance with them.” No doubt they will turn a blind eye until the not so fancied teams start to do it, although Everton have started but maybe its because Chelsea & top 4 Villa have as well with Newcastle also looking to exploit. -

I'd imagine this thread would be a little busier if that was the Prem officials team last night

Half true cancel that True -
Did he have a bad game or a bad moment? His player rating is just about on par with the entire England team & most of his team mates in a game marking a grand total of 620mins played as a full International. Yes a lapse to not have that full 360 degree spatial awareness & just focus on Saka but 1 could argue he should have got a shout also He was credited with the assist for his teams goal & then wasn't on the pitch when England had a few more opportunities
-
Let’s be honest Vestergaard and his 2 mates weren’t worked until Watkins came on, prior to that he was playing at his pace. I’m sure we would have seen a different Vestergaard had he been worked from minute 1 but fair play he coped with what he was up against.

Yes he is along with TAA in the centre and Trippier at LB Other than that (& my dislike of Pickford) the team behind is ok In other news Bellingham should have been hooked instead of Foden -
It’s lost on a lot of people as it’s only about the here and now for them. I still believe the best thing to ever happen for LCFC was that drop to Lge1, I very much doubt the past 10yrs would have panned out like it had without it.

Funny bunch to say Rosenior not good enough for Hull so why would we want at Leicester, yet scoff at the thought of Ole who achieved 3rd and 2nd place finishes and a penalty shoot out from Europa cup trophy in his last 2 full seasons with Man U. So cue well any manager could have achieved that with Man U (not true but go on) now what was everyone saying about Leicester last season and Enzo should be coming 1st with that squad? Then if I look in the who would you want from championship sides as cheaper transfers I don’t see many Hull players being mentioned. Hull was Rosenior 1st full time manager appointment, he has a very good head on his shoulders and I’ll predict he’ll have a very good managerial career in top flight football. I would not be to down if we did appoint him to be honest over a few already mentioned from the merry-go-round.

Do people realise in Moyes 2nd stint at West Ham, so Dec 2019 till being released end of 23/24 season, he had spent close to €500m on players. He’s not the fire fighter some believe he is.
-
I kind of disagree with the confidence knocking suggestion of losing to Iceland, I actually think it will have the reverse effect and show them they need to pull their socks up. We don’t play Germany, France, Spain etc in the groups so beating these 4:0 could have actually hindered ENG by assuming they only need to turn up to beat Serbia etc #wakeupcall.

Mayor of Kingstown S3 back on Paramount+, shot after they put Jeremy Renner back together.

That £9.8m does seem quite high for someone with only 1yr left on his contract, he's had his best season but still. Would fit the bill for us due to his flexibility of positions which i think we will require this season & the fact he's a settled player but at best part £10m its a no, although i'm sure that figure is probably wide of the mark & could / should be halved.
-
Reports suggest West Ham & West Brom in discussions about a £9.8m deal for Grady Diangana so Carlos better have a word if he coming & wants him..also Wolves have enquired. He'd certainly fit the bill thou & can play in the AM, RW, LW & CF positions.

He’s said he won’t scrap Uni fees so the young will still start life in debt. He’s sugar coated it by saying it’s between this or putting it into the NHS so will be over looked of course. Id much rather he said I’ll look into why the NHS spu4ks so much money per day and address that 1st rather than just keep putting good money on top of bad.

So we agree that we’re not that far down the food chain within the premier league then. As for abroad he was linked to Ajax a big club within a fairly small pond but he’s no longer in the running for that. He will need to be in 1 of main 3 EU leagues if he wants to sit at the top table and thus far he’s not even linked to a club bigger than a 8/9/10 position within the premier league, as far as I have seen. If he just wants to manage any team abroad then fair play, Im only replying to your statement that he will get bigger and better offers and that Leicester are so far down the food chain to have a chance of snaring someone like him. As for sitting and waiting your right he’ll be sat on a nice little wedge from Chelsea but if wants back in then he needs to move this season as he is being bypassed by other less experienced or high profiled managers ie Kompany, Enzo & McKenna 🤷♂️
-
Yep admittedly it’s only 1 seat which as you say he’ll probably smash but broadly speaking behind the scenes would it have the potential to fracture the party with members perhaps jumping ship preferring to back him? Could be a distraction Keir could do without this close to victory, JC knows what he’s doing stirring the pot.

Will Corbyn running as an independent put a spanner in the Labour cogs?
-
Will he, Are we thou? If he wants to stay in the EPL the pool of clubs looking or potentially going to be looking for a new manager is shrinking, he is not going to any of the traditional top 6, Man U at 1 point but now Poch, McKenna being mentioned that gigs gone, so working down Newcastle potentially but if they get rid of Howe they will be after a ‘big name’ and it won’t have an Anglo Saxon ring to it would be my guess, Villa won’t be looking past Emery & was he even looked at for the West Ham job? Now you’re getting into the smaller echelons of the epl where we will be positioned next season, Palace & Fulham won’t be looking for new managers, does he go back to Brighton? How far down are we going on the food chain, Everton or Wolves (again can’t see them looking past what they have), Bournemouth, Forest, Brentford…Ipswich? Ohh I’ve run out of clubs, which clubs are we well behind that would potentially want a new manager or even hypothetically for that matter. Not a lot of talk has come his way from abroad either and the longer he waits the more his stock is watered down, he needs another club and soon. We are in a pickle financial granted but there’s another 11 or 12 teams in the epl that won’t be splurging either and none of them hold a candle to our recent history, we will be seen as a big draw for managers outside of those top 6-8 clubs & if he wanted to get back in we above all the ‘rest’ would be perfect for him to build his credits back up. I say that in regards to if let’s say he went to (pick a team)…Palace, a mid table (meh) team he finishes mid table well done here’s a credit but if he goes to Leicester who potentially have point deductions, strangled by PSR, thin squad etc but keeps them up..credit, credit, credit….credit!

I’d say most of us on here are in the same boat the constant jibes, petty and bitterness & hijacking of threads becomes very boring very quickly which shows as you only have to look at any 1 of the separate headers and see a lack of posts. There was a time every thread was being posted on no matter what time of day I’d login and see every thread bold with new posts now it’s becoming like a tired high street with its shops shutting down. Think we all need to go back to basics, relearn the art of conversation and debating & less of the vitriol & one-upmanship seeking, We lose so many threads due to people’s needs to stick the knife in. I’m the least political person you could meet but a lot seem to love it but the threads been pulled some many times because it could no longer be debated, it became a salivation about Tory ineptness with links posted within seconds of some Tory quote or economic downturn followed by the belittling of anyone who dare go against the mob, they are marked as gammons or what ever the cool word of the time is, this drives posters away. What is it about the UK that posters hate so much and has them wishing they were in another country, without really knowing what’s happening in most countries of choice. I often hear that posters seem to believe the UK’s small on the world stage and has become a laughing stock but is that a reality or personal perception’s because of the hate for the current government? Yes compared to the spending power of the US we are tiny as are 99% of the worlds countries but I bet the people of Ukraine aren’t laughing at us leading the fight in support or those stuck after some natural disaster using our search and rescue teams etc etc When the US need an ally to fight / support along side them you bet they choose the UK 1st not because of the longstanding friendship but because they know they will get full support and the calibre of the forces (people you and me) remember it’s not the size of the weapon but how it’s used the majority of the UK forces are better trained than the majority of the US forces. We constantly see technological, medical & scientific breakthroughs coming out of the UK but never lorded on here, we’d rather pick up on some random headline that Brexit is stopping these types of advancements then when proven to be a bending of the truth it’s tumble weed time. The UK is still a great country and if you let the Tories out of your heads, get a little positivity & happiness into your lives, leave the things you can’t control and just focus on what you can it’ll seem a much greener place. Let’s not wait for the election & a change of government to lighten & lift the mood on here, we control what we say let’s do it ourselves! PS, Fish puns, the constant jibes about injuries, fax machines, transfer dealings, spelling and grammar also not cool guys 😂
