  1. I don’t think it’s that black and white. The players look like they don’t have a modicum of flair, innovation or maybe even confidence. Maybe they’ve heard all they can about this style. It happens to all leaders - people reach saturation point and growth plateaus. It’s not unique to footy. Maybe a fresh voice, a different accent to our game might provide a freshness to our play, alrhiugh we all know it’s never going to happen. There are no guarantees, though; you’re right there. But it applies to Maresca, as well - there is no guarantee he can fix this. And right now, it looks unlikely.
  2. Lots of points I kind of agree with. All walks of life have people who are more keen to be ‘proved right’ over their starting premise than ever they are to achieve the targets that would probably make them happier. 😂🤷. Each to their own. And yes, there’s a lot of that in here, around every manager. He has indeed saved the club from the free-fall that looked a real possibility in July. Hats off to the man for that. But, for me, I don’t think the ‘sack him’ noises have any basis in reality as we simply couldn’t afford to do that without risking even more dire consequences. But the debate over the remaining games is completely valid. What’s done is done. And gone. But it feels like a momentous few games coming up and the fact that 75% of people who could be arsed to vote on a different thread feel that our odds of getting the desired outcome with someone different at the helm is a massive insight into the stage of the union. And not one that’s easily dismissed as entitlement, for me. 🤷👍
  3. Thanks for the advice re whether I should watch my team or not. I’ll be sure to treat it with the respect it deserves 👍
  4. That Saints winner is a real pain. They’d have been done if it had stayed at 2-2. Now they’re still alive and kicking for autos 😖
  5. Your last two posts tell people they are “actually pathetic”, “absolutely embarrassing” and “entitled”. It’s good that you haven’t overreacted at all 😂😂. Unlike those people you allude to, who are disappointed and angry that their club has meekly surrendered a 15 point gap, and now, (if they can’t turn things around rapidly), potentially faces a transfer embargo, a points deduction, the likely sale of any player worth keeping, potentially an extended period in footballing oblivion …… whilst being asked to watch a style of football that is exceptionally dull. Heaven forbid that those embarrassing/pathetic/entitled types dare to voice their displeasure with this state of affairs.
  6. Enzo reading this ……
  7. What does that make us?
  8. Well, this thread hasn’t aged well for many, has it? In the style of Spartacus ……. …… Enzo, I DOUBT YOU.
  9. I doubt we can afford to sack a cleaner, let alone the entire management/coaching team. Plus we haven’t got the balls for it. But in the mind-bubble of my alternative reality, rolling the dice and asking Nige to motivate them for a couple of games is no more a risk than letting this shit-show continue. Sometimes the real risk is doing nothing.
  10. Sticking with the same team as I predicted for Plymouth. Have just downgraded a couple. Bomb-scare dwarf Feckin’ liability Donkey Awful Used to be great Sideways Overrated Tired Poor Enigma Couldn't hit a continent with a banjo
  11. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  12. Praet 🥴🥴🥴
  13. Natural finisher they said. Fast they said 😂😂😂😂
  14. I think the style is great and it’s clearly working well. I think we shouldn’t change anything at half-time and should persevere with exactly the same faces and shape.
  15. Daka started well 😂
  16. I’m annoyed with myself for allowing a ray of optimism to creep into my head …… but I’ve got a feeling we’ll be okay tonight. 🤞🤞
  17. Why would we hand over control of our destiny to another club? We need to win 4. Then it’s done. Given that, I just hope we don’t go in for any of that silly attacking nonsense and just pass the ball around, aimlessly, amongst ourselves for 87 minutes. Three minutes of attack is ample for a team that has to win 80% of its remaining fixtures, surely?
  18. Not for me, no. The title season was far more stressful. This season is possibly the most frustrating, though.
  19. Spot on. But I was late to the party and didn’t get there until early autumn. Nobody can deny he stopped us from going into free-fall, (and I genuinely worried that could happen preseason), and if he gets us up he’ll always have my total respect for doing so. But the football is horrendous and has sapped all the joy out of watching.
  20. Not that I'm still totally p'd off from last night and have lost all faith in the players/management/club ........ but we all know the team for Plymouth is likely to be the usual suspects. 21. Shamelessly stolen, but I normally reserve this level of anger for flying RyanAir.
  22. If you could play Wednesday every week, you’d be in the champion’s league.
  23. They’re not the only ones.
  24. If there’s a 10, then why isn’t there a zero option?
  25. He’s a good player at this level and his stats and contributions are fine. But, Jesus, he was absolutely awful tonight. Beyond dreadful.
