At some point, as a fan base we will realise the issues are much deeper than sacking a manager. The same problems have arisen year after year, the style of football and the type of manager that can play it hasn’t really changed - when it’s good it’s bloody brilliant, when it’s bad it’s horrible - Rodgers, Puel and now Enzo it’s the same. The manager losing faith with the Director of Football after transfer fees were seemingly promised and the not given - leading directly to a down turn in form. The team as a whole running out of steam at the business end of the season. It’s happened again, and again, and again and it’s too simple just to change the manager ever time. Look at it it critically, look at the complaints on here, they haven’t changed since Claudio left and we made a choice to go in a particular direction with the style of play. He’s got no plan B, he doesn’t trust the whole squad, he’s too stubborn to change the style of play… Here I could be talking about any one of our recent permanent managers… There are clear instructions from above in how we need to play, there are clear trust issue between the higher ups and the football manager, whoever it may be and non of this will change with a new manager. The same problems will repeat themselves unless the changes are made higher up and we start again.

Realistically, to get himself a better job, he needs to win the league first. He hasn’t got a lot on his CV as a manager in his own rights, and outside of our club, not winning the league will be seen as a failure. For himself, if he can win the league, or at least promotion and then get us off to a fighting start (better than Burnley or Sheff UTd) then he’s in a position to walk into another job. Right now, he needs us as much as we need him.

The simple answer to your question is we don’t know, we’ve got no idea about the inner workings of the club and how well it’s run. Part of the problem is communicating, there is next to nothing from anyone outside the playing side of the club. It’s an interesting one, a football club is so different to any other business - what other business do you care how it’s run and what’s happening at board level, outside the one you might be an employee or shareholder. Is it King Power? Is it Rudkin and Whelan? Is it the rules we are trying to keep in line with? We just simply don’t know what’s going on.

Nah couldn’t support that, even if you got rid of the big 6, eventually in the world we live in, 4 or 5 teams would amass more money and control all of the power in the league and we’d be back to square one. The English football pyramid needs a strong league structure from top to bottom, i think it would be better for the game if they just brought in a straightforward spending cap. In the Premier League you can spend x number of pounds on all football outlays - coaching, players transfer fees etc. per season, in the championship it’s a little less and so on down. Whatever the % difference is between the spending of two divisions, every relegated player automatically has their contract adjusted by that amount - no club has any unfair advantage, and players might just fight a bit more at the end of the season. You could have all players that have played 3 or more years in the academy outside of the spending model if you really wanted to encourage growth and player development.

Championship team of possible transfers. Who has impressed you?

That George Hirst at Ipswich has got to be worth a punt. Injured at the minute but maybe worth a sneaky £10 million bid. Others young Luke Thomas at Middlesbrough, Johansson at Rotherham as a back up keeper and Kipre at WBA -
Not sure why there should be any negativity really. A few results have gone against us, but realistically I’d say only the QPR game we played poorly. Ricardo and Ndidi are critical to the team we want to be and us playing out best - both of them returning is huge! Vestergaard also missed a couple of those games and Mavididi, KDH and Winks have all needed a rest that they’ve now been given. We’ve already beaten everyone we have left to play this season. No excuses now! Everything is set up for us to win the league. We’re in a great position.

Our form before and after previous international breaks suggests improvements will be made. The other thing it does is disrupts Leeds momentum a little. We have a new final 9 game season after the break and we are still in pole position. A rest and the return of Vardy, Ricardo, Ndidi and Vestergaard and we are in good shape to go out and win all 9 games and take our league title.
-
Who? Of the strongest 11 maybe Mads and Vestergaard? Neither are likely to start. Ndidi, but surely he’ll have his game time managed. Anyone else?
-
Can’t agree with this at all, his finishing has been poor recently no question, but his all around game play and the things he does is the best suited player we have to how Enzo wants to play. If he can relax and sort his finishing out, he’s our best option. Playing against Chelsea, we will need an outlet and some pace up top. I can’t see any world where Iheanacho gets in ahead of Daka.

As the thread title says, has your dedication to Leicester City ever got you in trouble? A light hearted look at how the love for your team sometimes takes over. I’d love to hear any other light hearted funny stories. I have had a couple of funny experiences recently. First one was when I was at work we did one of those new well-being things. Everyone was asked to bring in a photo of the people and places that make them happy. The idea is to put them all in big collage and everyone can look at it or something every day. It’s not really my thing, but apparently it will lift morale and make the workplace happier. Anyway, I misread the situation and put in a photo of Jamie Vardy holding the FA Cup. Only to realise everyone else has put in their partner, kids, grandkids etc. Well Mrs. Aus comes into the office as she regularly does and thinks the collage is amazing, as she’s looking at all the happy family snaps, before noticing Jamie Vardy and the FA Cup - the only photo not of a family! Boy did I hear about it!!! The second funny story of me getting in trouble was with my nephews childcare - indirectly and not really my fault. My wife is much older than her sister, and we regularly look after her three year old. As you do, I sing him all the Leicester songs when I’m with him. Anyway, unknown to me. At his day care they regularly ask kids for their favourite songs to sing. Confused my sister in law has been asked what the Fatty Wu Wu song is. She can’t work it out, and it had been interpreted somehow as a song about fat women by the day care and they were not happy - flash forward a couple of weeks and my sister in law is over and I am with the little one singing Fatawu!!! Running down the wing… Mystery solved!!! She had to then explain to the day care it was the weird old uncle singing about Abdul Fatawu not anything offensive. I did offer to write the lyrics down so they could share it with everyone at the daycare 😂

Not sure I’d play Vardy, for such a prolific goal scorer his FA Cup record is pretty crap. I’m prepared to be embarrassed here when someone corrects me, but other than the goal he scored at Brum, I can’t actually remember him scoring an FA Cup goal for us. I’m sure he has, but in 12 seasons, I’d be amazed if he scored more than a handful of goals in the competition.

By today’s standards, the second was is a penalty, every day of the week. A late challenge, not playing the ball and makes contact with the striker - it’s a penalty these days. Oh and we drew, we didn’t lose. It is getting frustrating though, this is the latest in a string of pretty bad decisions that have gone against us this season - 4 huge decisions in the game 3 of them went against us. Huge games we see decisions go inexplicably against us and it’s really becoming a big issue. -
Of the 20 players in the squad for the Hull game, I can’t see a single one of them who will start and play a full 90 minutes of international football after this game. All of the players are getting a good 2 week rest. I would go as strong as possible minus Vardy - who at his age will need a break. We don’t want to fall into the trap of having players not match fit, because they haven’t played for 3 weeks. I would keep Stolarczyk in goal through, he has been brilliant in the cup and will need more games. For this I’d go: Stolarczyk Choudhury Vestergaard Coady Doyle Winks Ndidi - get 60 minutes into him KDH Fatawu Daka Marcal - (Mavididi does look dead on his feet) Bench: Hermansen, Souttar, Nelson, Yunus, Justin, Iheanacho, Albrighton, Cannon, Cover

The goal at the start of the season was to win the league, the goal remains now to win the league. We are currently top of the league and have been pretty much all season. There are 4 outstanding teams in this division, who have all had exceptional runs of form, and wobbles just occurring at different times. Ours looks worse because we were the team who jumped out the blocks early, but being on 82 points from 37 games is a fantastic effort and would normally pretty much have a promotion place in the bag now. We do have 3 other teams that are also in the race and having great season. So in this context, whilst the goal remains to win the league, I’ll still be one of those happy clappers jumping up and down going mad if we sneak into second on the final day. Context does matter! And for context one, potentially two of the teams who have had outstanding season will not be going up. So yeah, whilst not quiet the goal, the bigger picture is we need to go up this season.
-
Take the point and move into the international break, some big players now can have two weeks off, relax and then go again for a final push. All things considered a decent point.
-
Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing, yes it’s brilliant when they lose or drop points, but ultimately it’s all in our hands. With Vestergaard and Ndidi back, we are an infinitely better team, add Ricardo after the break and if they all stay fit, we win all 9 games after the break.
