  1. Selling home grown talent is very useful from a FFP point of view, pure profit. Which is way you see the like of Man City selling Palmer and Chelsea willing to sell Gallagher.
  2. Is it only me that wants us to make a few expensive signing just to piss them all off.
  3. With the amount they spent they would be round 55m each year on the book even for amortisation over 5 years. For context we got to around 75m at our peak, obviously we had a couple of season of top 5 finish and European football to help balance the books.
  4. Actually they aren't talk of them needing to sell before they buy.
  5. A victim of keepers needing to be decent with their feet. His useless on the ball.
  6. Converting from Euro to pounds issue, its 270m overall. I forgot to convert one of the figure season figures from Euro to pounds
  7. Forest have spent around £270m in two windows. 22/23 168m 23/24 102m Excluding wages and loan fees, that's just transfers fee. To put that into context out highest spend in one season in 9 pl seasons was 98m. It took us 4 season to spend the same amount.
  8. We spend 35m in the summer if you need to sell someone in the winter window, why send that much recuiting high earners like Winks and Coady. We held out for top money for Daka, surely we would have sold if under pressure for FFP.
  9. I think the club would want more then we got for Barnes and Maddison. In the summer we had to act due to relegation, to cash in on Maddison for FFP reasons and Barnes because we had to finance a rebuild. He is probably going to end up with one of the best goal contribution records for a midfielder in the championship. Take much more the 30m in my opinion.
  10. 100% His contracted to 2027, and probably our biggest asset, and the teams talisman. It would take a stupid amount that no one is willing to pay.
  11. Think we would be lucky to get 5m with 6 months left on his contract.
  12. Hard to believe this is Justin 5 season with us and this season is the second highest amount of league games he has played. No chance we sell, still has two years on his contract, when he signed his contract extension in 2022 after coming back from his ACL he spoke about the faith the club had put in him. Back in the PL with us, new contract and pushing for the England squad next season. Lots of other deadwood to move on Ward, Iversen, Preat, Nacho.
  13. So many memories, awesome.
  14. Simple; Cost acured prior to planning permission being granted are included in FFP calculations. Cost after planning permission is granted are excluded from FFP. It's to stop teams using it as a fudge on FFP.
  15. Out of friendlies and qualifiers, not tournaments.
  16. All 3 promoted team stayed up the season before this. Burnley and Sheff U had dreadful summer windows, Luton were promoted left field. Not sure that gulf in class is as big as it was. A lot will depend on what the club are willing to spend, we will also be shopping in a different market to the 3 promoted teams. People will see are relegation as a one year blip and us more of an established PL team with recent trophies.
  17. Selling youth players is very good for FFP, pure profit.
  18. Some are reporting Forest didn't sale Johnson in the time for the money to be included in that period FFP. May explain why we sold Maddison quickly and on the cheap.
  19. Lots of top defenders had no pace. Positioning and experience.
  20. Peanuts Shift Praet on a free, his wages probably cover half the fee.
  21. Only way he goes now is for no fee or a nominal fee, bet like when Perez went on loan last winter window and then signed on a free in the summer. Only benefit to us would be saved wages. Saying that even on a wage of 40k, 6 months is over a 1m.
  22. Easy to forget we got comfortable beaten by a average Blackburn team in the FA cup last season. And thrashed by Forest the season before.
  23. I don't think we can underestimate the usefulness of Enzo having a couple goes at PL teams if we can.
  24. Judging him on 1 appearance against one of the best pressing teams in the Europe? Was fine against Huddersfield, Tranmere and Burton, he showed good ability on the ball. He's 100% number 2 this season, he may not a long term solution for number 2, but neither Ward or Iversen will get a look in under Enzo We need to develop player either for the first team or to sell on, to complete. I believe Enzo see developing our own as a necessity, rather than a luxury.
