  1. David Orstein…. …..Everton and Forest are set to be informed they’ve breached PL sustainability rules (FFP) for the 3 years to 2023. It will likely mean both get a points deduction THIS season!
  2. As somebody who was born in Ashby De La Zouch I can confirm that I am “up my own arse”. More to the point I’m 100% Leicester and believe that most of the town is (although, unlike my dad and grandparents, I’ve never actually lived there).
  3. Sh1t!!! This is what a defeat feels like
  4. Who? Is he Italian as well?
  5. I think the team will be: Mads Ricky, Vesty, Faes, JJ Winks Butch, KDH Fatawu, TC, Mavididi The only worry is whether Casadei can step up to Ndidi’s level - although he will carry a goal threat
  6. We’ve never seemed to do a lot in January with these owners. Sometimes it can be very frustrating when it’s obvious we need something. They were probably forced to try last season given the position we were in. It can be quite annoying, but this season you could make an argument for not disrupting what we’ve got. As fans we’re always greedy and an extra midfielder to cover Ndidi would be nice. Personally that’s all I’d want as long as we got someone who improved the squad rather than just fill it. We’ve got the best midfield in the league at full strength, but now we’ve lost Ndidi I fear an injury to Winks or KDH.
  7. Yes, I agree with this. There will be other stories that come along. We’re big enough to share the limelight. I’m just glad we’re in the conversation for something so positive. We have to also remember that we also wouldn’t have achieved it without Vichai’s investment. The downfall of it is that “dwarf” is so ridiculous a statement that it just detracts from any comparison that the author was trying to make
  8. I think all this is just a salutary lesson in how quickly things can unravel after a period of poor management and stewardship of the club. One year we’re beating Chelsea in the FA Cup final and less than 5 years later we’re in the Championship debating who’s the bigger club with Coventry City fans.
  9. I’ll take that as a yes!
  10. Better than Tete?
  11. When I think of Mahrez I just always think of his first touch. Probably as good as I’ve ever seen
  12. Are they making space for January signings?
  13. Happy Birthday Jamie
  14. For that money he’d be a Sensi-ble signing
  15. Probably not the time to debate his legacy, but not a Leicester legend. Liked him and loved his amiable and friendly approach. He also gave hope to blokes everywhere by shagging numerous attractive, younger, women. Wish him and his family nothing but the best
  16. The price is key, but the wages are too. I shared something on another thread that really reveals the scandalous amount of wages we’ve paid for people like Smithies, Ward and Bertrand. This really hamstrung us in terms of sustainability and FFP. We’d want to avoid a situation where we’re paying a fortune for somebody who never plays. There is, however, always a bit of a gamble with signings and sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. I’ve not seen enough of this guy to judge whether he’s worth it
  17. Saw this and I thought about our expectations at different ages. If you think of a 21 year old Ndidi he was far more advanced in his development than Casadei is right now. So you might expect him to be better. Ndidi, although enjoying a renaissance in a new role, has probably plateaued and not significantly better than he was as the youngster we signed. Soumare has just turned 24 and still looks like a player in development now, although there are worries about his ultimate potential. Where was he in comparison to Casadei at a similar age? Then there is KDH. He’s 25 and only really broken through in the last couple of years. Would a 21 year old KDH have looked better or worse than Casadei does right now? People who follow the development squads might have a better answer than me. I’m just wondering whether our expectations of Casadei are reasonable or unreasonable given that all players progress at a different rate?
  18. We’ve earned the position where only our own form matters. It’s felt for a while that only a significant run of injuries can stop us. We have one now with Ndidi, but would have lost him to AFCON in this period anyway. I saw three significant periods: 1. Christmas schedule 2. AFCON 3. Run-in We’ve got through the first one. The next phase has started now without Daka, Nacho and Ndidi (although he could be out for longer) but kept Fatawu. If we still maintain our current lead towards the end of February we’ll be as good as up. That sets us up nicely for the run-in when games become unpredictable across the board with so many teams in the last gasp saloon.
  19. Southampton are in great form but, unfortunately for them, it’s been largely irrelevant to us so far. As you suggest the only real danger to us is our own form collapsing
  20. If we manage to pull that off then we will basically be trolling Sheff Utd with our transfer strategy this season
  21. Oh sh1t. They know
  22. Thank you. That explains it very succinctly
  23. Yes I don’t disagree with that. I suppose reflecting upon a draw as a decent result could be confined to the “Post Match” thread should it happen. We’ve proven after 26 games that we’re currently the best team is this division
  24. Apparently this is something I posted on social media 10 years ago. Interesting parallels with what’s happening now.
