He won’t regret it 1 bit imo. He will join the 100 goal club this season which is a fantastic achievement and he wouldn’t of done it with a club who believes he isn’t the main man. Also it’s 1 thing to join the 100 club but another to do it in such a short amount of time. Peter Crouch for example made it but did it from goals in seasons 2001/02-2016/17..Vardy will complete it from 2014/15 - 2019/20. Much more impressive feat and including 3(Three!) 20 goal+ seasons, not many strikers have had 3 20+ campaigns(proving he’s a top striker and not a 1 season wonder like James Beattie, Roque Santa Cruz or Benjani like some believed in 16/17 during Ranieris last days). Hopefully he might add a golden boot(fair chance)? A league cup medal(possible chance?), Taking Leicester into the CL for a 2nd time!!(again proving it was more than a freak season), and maybe just maybe a 2nd league title(ok this is a very remote chance but can you just imagine!?!?) Overall when he retires in a few seasons , if he achieves some if not most(all!?) of the above, he would of achieved everything he could of dreamed of as a 25 year old semi pro player! He would hopefully of left Leicester in their best position in our entire history as a top 6 club and already achieved what will be the most incredible season in any year in any sport ever. the guys legacy will already be complete but he can add to it, through the next 1-2 seasons to enhance his status as an even bigger legend(already there imo). There should be a statue built of him as well as a stand renamed after him when he retires. LCFC legend for life. Jamie Vardy, he’s one of of owwwwwwwn!

The 2010s: Leicester City’s team of the Decade

So many great moments it’s unbelievable really! We are probably currently with a team that’s better than we’ve ever had so could make even more memory’s. new training ground next year, stadium expansion, potential CL next year? Maybe a cup final this year? Assuming we don’t get relegated this year, our longest run in the top flight since the Premierleague formed, Our world class striker hitting 20 for a 3rd time? Top scorer of the prem? Joining the 100 goal club? Outside(very outside) chance of a title push? unbelievable times and more memories to be made. We have a chance of becoming a bigger club by creating more and more history in this era. Great Escape EPL Champions CL QF Transisiton - Phase out the winners, build. Progression/New Era - Better manager, Maddison Perrera Youri CL And Top 6 push - Built a squad paying off. hopefully keep this squad together for a few years be build another era! So exciting , never been as excited in this international break! Bring on Brighton!

Much as I loved the Sevilla game and the CL run, I always have a slight disappointment because of the team we had that year was not quite as good as it could be. I always wonder if we had Kante in there what would of happened! or now this current squad, what could achieve? I’d go as far as saying if we keep this team together and we qualify, we could genuinely win the CL next year 😮. We performed great in the CL and was a great occasion Sevilla, but I always felt vs Athletico that they weren’t actually that good and we should of got to the semis. They cheated a win in the first leg and we were a bit unfortunate in the 2nd leg. If we had our midfield now we’d of ripped them a new arsehole. exciting times but that’s always the slight upset I have when thinking about that CL run.

Leicester 2 Burnley 1 Post match thread

He reminds you of Luiz because of his barnet. Both pens he conceded you mentioned above were debatable anyway. Huddersfield he got the ball and on Rashford it was soft. Hes young he will get better, Luiz is well past his best, Salah absolutely sent him into retirement. -
I dont quite understand why everyone seems to be wanting to change things. We are playing great football, winning every game we play our best formation. We dropped points vs Wolves because we played 2 DMs. We lost to Man utd and Liverpool because we had Maddison wide. Its as simple as this for me, We are BETTER than Southampton, believe were better than them and play to our strengths and not to combat their strengths. Kasper Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Chillwell Ndidi Tillimens Maddison Perez/Albrighton Barnes Vardy. Play that we win, simple as that..trying to get praet in the game and dislodge our balance is ridiculous. Play our best team, Maddison and Tillmens can dominate that game if you play them centrally and gives more space for Vardy. When Maddisons wide, theres less space in the centre and Maddison cant use his skills(those smart balls around the corner and quick movement). When hes on the wing, he hasnt got the pace of Barnes and the full backs can keep it away from the danger. For me its obvious, play the above team every game(bar injurys or suspesions) and we have a great chance for top 3 even top 2! IMO our best 11(the one above) in their best postions, are the 3rd best team in the league, we will do it if we dont try and be the bloody tinker man every game. Play the above team: Southampton 0-2 Leicester.

How we’ve gone from being relegated to league 1 in 08 to winning the Premier League in 2016. 8 years going from Barry Hayles to Jamie Vardy, Ryan Smith to Riyad Mahrez and Jason Jarret to Ngolo Kante, it’s quite remarkable. Comparisons: 2009: Utd: Van De Sar Neville Ferdinand Vidic Evra Carrick Scholes Anderson Ronaldo Tevez Rooney Us: Henderson Gilbert Morrison Brown Mattock Gradel Oakley King Dyer Howard Fryatt. 1 a Back to Back to Back Premier League winning team with Back to Back CL finals too. 1, League 1 team. 10 years later: De Gea Tuanzebe Maguire Lindelof Young Mctominay Matic Mata Perrera Rashford James Schmichael Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Chillwell Tillimens Ndidi Albrighton Maddison Barnes Vardy Mental how far we’ve come and that’s what I love!

Coleen had a dream, About our Jamie’s queen, She found the culprit and it was one of our oooooown. On TV shes back, The flooding attaaaaaack, Rebecca Vardy, we know you leaked that! Woah woah woah.

We have 2 options regarding teams, if we want to get a draw or win tomorrow: Kasper Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Chillwell Tillimens Ndidi Albrighton Maddison Barnes Vardy This is my first choice. 2nd option I could get behind: Kasper Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Chillwell Praet Ndidi Albrighton Tillimens Barnes Vardy I think Maddison has to play if fully fit but if not then I’d accept the 2nd one. I feel Praet would be unfortunate to not play after last game but think if we go for it and we struggle/losing, he can change the game, rather than starting negative going behind and almost planning to go behind so we can tinker and ‘change the game’. Go hard, go attacking and be ambitious. things for sure to not do: - Maddison never wide! If he plays it’s in the hole if not then bench, - Tillimens being dropped is a stupid opinion from some people I’ve read. Ridiculous, he has to start. Him and Vardy are the 2(aside the back 5 who all are 100%) straight on the team sheet. - Barnes has to start. the options: - Albrighton OR Perez and Hamza OR Ndidi? these are both ok options but in both occasions they are ‘OR’ and not both. For me , Ndidi has to play as he’s one of our top performers at the minute and 2 DMs is another out the question thing. Albrighton would be perfect for this game. Also Perez would be better up top so he should be a good option to chase the game . If we are losing bring him on 2 up top with Vardy, not as a wide square peg. I really fancy our chances if we believe in ourselves. If BR plays hamza and Ndidi, plays Maddison on the wing or drops Tillimens then I’ll be fuming, we will never win if he does any of those things. Im fed up of us bottling it by changing tactics! When we won the league the reason we were so consistent was because we played the same 11 nearly every week and didn’t change for other people, we played our strongest game in a system we were best at. I even remember the one game that season we changed for the opposition was Man City at home. we played inler as a 5 man midfield as we were planning to stifle them, and is it any wonder before that game I knew it was a mistake and we played one of the worst games that season. We learnt though and played our top team and didn’t fear them at the ethiad and tore them a new arse. Its as simple as this , play our best team in a formation that gets the best out of our individuals and if we lose then Liverpool would deserve it. I will have no complaints if we go for it and lose but I’ll be fuming if we let them win by fearing them. Utd won because we effectively let them, if we played to win we would of won 90% of the time. long term on %s we will make more average points in this game by going for it, so rather than fearing them and playing for a point that we will never get, go for it. This doesn’t mean go gung ho, just play to win and if we go behind, change it and try and come back. If we get ahead then just adjust tactically and accordingly. At the end of the day, If we lose, let’s lose feeling like we did vs Cardiff in playoffs 09/10, not Old Trafford 19/20!
-
There is absolutely no point setting up with 2 DMs and trying to hold it! if we do that we are basically saying ‘let’s hold on for 90 minutes against 1 of the best attacks in the world’. What would happen is a seige that would end up with them scoring and then bringing on Gray chasing the game , trying to break down a defence containing one of the best in the world sitting deep. We basically are giving them the game by doing this. Norwich did what you should do, they went for it and Liverpool couldn’t handle them going forward. We should do this but as we have more quality in midfield and defensively we would have a chance. Go into it playing the same team. If we set up with an attitude of ‘let’s try and win, if we go behind , deal with it and try and come back’ and not ‘let’s keep it tight, sh*t were behind, let’s chase it now’ I’ll be happy. If we go for it and lose I’ll not be unhappy, it’s a free hit! Just don’t give them a game like we did vs Utd. Kasper Perrera Soyuncu Evans Chillwell Ndidi Tillimens Maddison Albrighton Vardy Barnes That team gives us a chance and balance. Back 5 pick themselves, Ndidi over Choudhry to start, can’t drop Tillimens, Maddison offers creativity we will need and something for them to worry about. Vardy to occupy Van dyke but drift onto Matip. Barnes to push AA back and not allow him to attack as much , albrighton on the right for balance and cover Perrera who can over lap and they can talk and cover. Playing 2 DMs would give confidence to their CM and can press more, they can’t press as much if they know we have the danger to attack them. If we try and attack them and they do score, we can come back, if we play cautiously and concede, we would have the wrong team to come back!! I know this is Liverpool and not Utd so we should be somewhat respectful but our best chance of winning is to try and win it. If we score first and cause pressure we can later in the game bring on hamza /prat or both and make a tight 3 man screen and make it hard for them and more tight, but do that IF we’re winning and not start with this mindset!

Lennon and Izzet were top top draw. If they were training the same in this generation as the current crop they would be as good for sure. If we're comparing like for like, it’s hard as there all different players but what I will say is our current squad/first 11 are probably the best we’ve ever had. we can for the first time, realistically compete for a top 6 even top 4 finish! its incredible really. I do feel, whilst the 1997-2000 team did incredible, there was a sense that they hit their ceiling, we were a good top 10-top 8 team. We did really well and they were top players for sure, but this crop are bordering world class. Saying that, we achieved 2 cups in 3 years and pushed hard at times. This teams ceiling is higher though, Ive never been more confident if this group stays together etc but so far Bar a miracle season, we haven’t really achieved f all!! This next 1/2 seasons is crucial to suggest how good we really are. If we can achieve a top 6 finish and win a cup then we can say this is the best team ever(our PL win had 3 world class players and a couple more good components and a few honestly very average players). This current team has barely a weakness, better squad than 15/16 too. overall this is the best squad in our entire history, we are on par squad wise with Utd Chelsea arsenal, first time ever I genuinely think man to man we are direct competitors. This is why for me this group is better, however until we win its remained to be seen. Top 6(even top 4) and a cup = best era ever. Let’s see if we can achieve something great in the next few seasons!
-
This is exactly what we should be doing. Remember we won the title because of this very reason. Kante is the best in the world at this.
-
Were not established but then when is anyone established? We could make 10 seasons in a row and were still just 1 season away from going down. Its always possible with a majority of Premier League clubs. Stoke were established, they were in the Premier League for 10 Seasons, then they dropped and now bottom of the Championship. Its a short term game. Back to the point, making the stadium to 40k is vital, I live 3 1/2 hours away and so cant have a season ticket but literally cannot get a ticket, as often sold out and doesnt make general sale. Were a big enough club to sell out 40k so why not make a more attractive stand, seat more peopl and fill out a stadium and become a bigger club. I used to go to alot more games between 2004-2014 was so easy to get tickets when it wasnt sold out all the time but only managed to see 2 since! If we get relegated in the future and play in front of 24k in a 40k stadium then its really not that big a problem, its worst to prevent people from going by capping the capacity.

Our record at OT is terrible. We have never had a better chance though IMO. Only the 1-1 in our title season have I been confident of winning at OT. However we have still only won once out of 13 attempts in the premier league, so a win at Old Trafford would be a great result, despite their form. We have only once scored more than once at Old Trafford so we will need to keep tight to win. My team: Kasper Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Chillwell Choudry Tilimens Albrighton Maddison Barnes Vardy Ndidi or choudry, barnes or gray and Albrighton or Perez are all decisions. I think Albrighton is perfect for this game, bit more defencive and Perez is a bit like a square peg on that rw. LW is like for like but Ill just go for Barnes but this really is either or. Choudry I pick over Ndidi just because he will hassle Pogba a bit more. If we were to take the lead though Id like to have both of them on with Tili in a midfield 3. Press them and dont fear them and we have a good chance to score goals and win. Last season Maddison played great in that pocket behind the striker and think we can control the game again this time but with Vardy on the pitch, more chance of scoring as we had useless Ianacho last time.
-
No we wernt. We were in the Premier League for 6 seasons 1996-2002. 4 under O Neil and 2 under Taylor. This time we are now in our 6th season so unless we go down this year we are going to make our longest run in the EPL.
-
The thing is with Puel, we struggled fans were on his back. Then we beat City with a great performance, beat Chelsea at the bridge, then beat Everton away..All 3 we were playing Choudry central and made it horrible to play against. Then he puts Mendy back in and we went sh*t again. Then we got Tilimens and he took Vardy out. He never played our best team, He alianated our best player and consistently played our worst player(Mendy) due to his french connection or something. He was too stubborn and not willing to change his opinion when questioned in the media or by the fans which ultimately led to his sacking. His signings under his tenure were good and hes got us through the clubs worst moment in our entire history with Vichai and helped build us through a couple of seasons of transition from our aging title winners to a new younger team and now Rodgers can build on it. Rodgers is a much better man manager, makes players feel wanted more(Look how Jamie has responded, top goal scorer in England since Rodgers came in), you can tell from his interviews how highly he rates Jamie for example and its not suprising Jamie is firing when you have a manager who believes so much in you. Puel did ok and maintained a couple of 9th place finishes and built a new squad but it was right to move him on and let someone to take us to the next level.
-
Puel did 2 mistakes, He didnt play Vardy correctly or not at all and he played Mendy. Mendy and Ndidi was painful to watch, said it countless times. Tili and Maddison in the middle is so much more creative and that builds the better brand of football.

Jamie Vardy- World Class?
deanolegend1989 replied to The Year Of The Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Because Vardy plays for Leicester and not a big 6 team, its hard for people to believe anyone is 'world class' playing outside a top 6 Prem club(or Top name clubs in the other leagues). However even If I take off my blue Leicester City goggles, he is 100% world class. A world class finisher, a world class goal scorer and much better than a lazy fan thinks who doesnt watch him about his all round game. He has a world class engine and stamina, lightning speed even at 32 going on 33 and a much better first touch than given credit for, a great football brain and also what people wont see is hes really good at reading the game and getting into dangerous postions. Lets also remember hes playing with alot of average players, some top class players also but the few times he has had a dry spell its usually due to managers rotating him/using him wrongly(puel last season, ranieri 16/17 etc). This proves to me he would score bundles in any top team with top players..Imagine him in city or Liverpool now? 20 goals guarenteed! He is 100% world class by anyones standards..world class means one of the top strikers in the world over an era(5-10 year period). It doesnt mean Messi/Ronaldo level because clearly they are on another planet! Jamie Vardy is world class, one of the best strikers in this recent era of the Premier League. He is clinical and both footed and good in the air. Scored in both knock out stage ties of his only CL campaign. Scored at international level including at a Euros' and at a decent caps to goals rate, despite being a non regular. 1 of only a select few strikers to of scored 20+ premier league goals in 2+ seasons.(1 season wonder debate? haha clueless). Has the best record in Premier League history vs the top 6 and not only this has scored at least 1 goal at every one of the top 6 clubs Away from home(only scores in easy games? Nope another flawed critism). Premier League record 11 Games. 83 Prem Goals in 179 Prem Games. Just under 1 in 2 for a mid table/sometimes relegation threatened team(14/15 and 16/17). Premier League winner, FWA Footballer of the year. Its not even a debate for me..The best player to ever play for Leicester. A Leicester great, A premier league great and a world class striker. If he was under 25 he'd be worth £100 million and every single top club would be after him. Will go down as a great and now we have got, probably one of the best squads if not best squad in our entire history..we could potential push top 6/european place and a domestic cup, maybe this is the season where we can make even more noises? -
Where were you when we were sh!t ?.

What about when we wasted £1m on that non league striker Jamie Vardy who wasn’t good enough for league 1? -

I think we played brilliantly for the first 20 mins but never really a sniff afterwards. You can’t sit deep from 25/30 mins and expect to get a point. The players were nakard by 60-65 and it’s inevitable we wernt going to last if we’re so deep. The thing is, the best way to defend is to attack and make them bring men back. Also chasing and concentration levels to defend for 90 mins is tiring, the legs and minds get tired. Best form of defence is to attack. Im a bit frustrated because we struggled from 30-45 and got in at 0-0 at Ht and I think the longer it went on in the 2nd half it was going to come eventually. i think around 60-65 when it was clear we were too deep, Brendan should of changed tactics and actually pushed higher up. People would say ‘we would get hammered 2/3-0 if we go for it’ but We would have more chance than doing what Burnley did the week before and trying to hold out. Just felt like we were always losing playing that way. It was coming from 45-55...still 55-65 and this is when Brendan should use the subs and push out. Everytime we got a sniff in their half we caused problems. We have more forward talent than Burnley and currently Man Utd and feel our best chance to cause upset is throw fire with fire around 60-70 and if we managed to knick the first goal could lock up the parked bus after. Anyway all in all though, we were playing one of the best teams to ever play in PL, and we were in a game right till the final whistle, whilst they were wasting time and sticking it in the corner. so a good effort from our boys. Choudry was fantastic, Maddison is a talent on the ball and we worked brilliantly as a team at times. In particular though, special mention to me for Ricardo, he is an absolutely outstanding wingback. We must keep him! -
Gomes has already scored for us though when he threw Kantes shot into the net in 15/16 ?
-
Absolutely devastated, I literally feel numb. I cant sleep. The most terrible news in our history. I cant help feeling that if he wasn't board the plane, someone would of rung him after hearing the news and he would respond and then it would be straight in the news hes been heard safe. No news if bad news and if hes in the plane which seems very likely then how an earth is he going to be alive? Its absolutely shocking!

Let’s be honest, anyone who mentions anyone in this list is barking mental: Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, Kasper, Lennon, Izzet, Elliot, Heskey. these players were all great players. Vardy has scored 63 premier league goals and scored 20+ in 2 seasons which is incredible really when playing for a team outside the top 4. He’s broke the premier league record of consecutive games He also has an incredible record vs the top 6, including being the only player to ever score vs all top 6 in 1 season. on top of being a premier league winner, and and England international and being loyal to LCFC rejecting Arsenal, this guy will go down as imo Leicester City’s greatest ever player. It’s impossible to overrate Jamie Vardy. He to LCFC is like Stevie G to Liverpool or Cantona to Utd. Ngolo Kante is another one. Impossible to over rate. The guy is a unique talent. What he does on a football pitch is purely unique. Imo he will go down in future generations as a role in a great team - ‘every good team needs a Kante’ The modern day makelele(better imo). Mahrez is the 3rd . These 3 are the greatest 3 to ever play for Leicester and 3 premier league greats imo. Mahrez , unlike the other 2, can somewhat be suggested as overrated but in reality, he is probably the most technically gifted player we will ever see at LCFC. Every great player needs to be unpredictable and frustrating at times but he pulled out moments of absolute genious, from Blackpool to what imo is the biggest moment in our premier league win -(the goal at Watford was outstanding in terms of the quality but also the moment). You win titles in tough away games when you need a bit of magic from a top player, there it was. the players who actually I think are overrated, which means actually haven’t done anything to prove it - chillwell, Silva, ianacho..all of these 3 so far have not shown anything that makes me think they can perform top players!
-
The feeling at the start of the 2015/2016 for me was the most optimistic I’ve been since we came back up. we had just won 7/9, playing good football in the majority of those games - this wasn’t luck, we had built a good team with good shape. Don’t get me wrong, I was truly stunned how it turned out and still to this day have no idea how it actually happened however I genuinely was not surprised we would do well that season. I remember when we beat Villa 3-2 and were 2nd and remember saying to my mate ‘I told you we would do well this year’.. In terms of the title though: 1st step - winning at Norwich 2-1 Kante looking brilliant was the moment I thought: ‘aye aye’. 2nd step - winning 3-2 away at West Brom made me think ‘were the real deal’.. but to be honest, I could not actually really believe it would actually happen until we gritted a 1-0 win at Watford...that was the day I said ‘we are actually going to do this!!’ Winning 4-0 vs Swansea was the defining moment..pre game was worried we would drop points without Vardy but after that win it was the safety net of Everton at home and no longer needing points away at Utd or Chelsea which made me comfortable! this season though I’m not confident. It always feels like hindsite but from my actual feelings at the start of each season here’s how I genuinely felt: most confident/least confident: 15/16 17/18 16/17 18/19 14/15 This is the most I’ve worried since our first season. our signings are ‘meh’ at best, Mahrez’ loss will be huge. Vardy is aging and I’m worried we might lose Maguire(even if he stays he’s said he wants to go and his head will be turned). I think we could be in trouble. 15/16 I was confident we would be top half. It was the only season I was excited about pushing for Europe. The momentum and Vardy and Mahrez on top of the game and under the radar I genuinely thought we would be a dark horse(similar to Burnley 17/18 was what I expected us 15/16). 17/18 I was confident we would be solid enough, yet not spectacular(similar season to what I expected) 16/17 never expected us to get near without Kante but safe enough.(we ended up roughly where I expected but didn’t expect us to be that bad under ranieri). 14/15 I expected us to be struggling but again I thought we would be ok, we were a lot worse than I expected hovering around 19 points in April. 18/19 I expect us to be 12-17th I’m a bit worried but hole we will be ok. I’m kinda confident due to the amount of ‘crap’ teams in the league, rather than confidence in our own team.
