Reid at least puts in effort whenever he plays. Ayew has bad games and we definitely need an improvement, but he's not the worst offender in the squad. Winks and Faes have been omitted, Nelson is starting and there's space on the bench for the youth players we've been crying out for more of. Realistically much more upheaval than that was never going to happen.

Oldham is my closest league club, FC United is the closest non-league. Thought about going along to either, but I can't find the enthusiasm for it. Maybe I will at some point, but it wont be the same. It's Leicester or nothing. In terms of being a match-going fan, I fear 'nothing' is winning that particular battle at the moment when I consider all the travel and time it takes, as much as I hate the idea of going back to being an armchair fan...

Feels like it'd make perfect sense to bring Sammy back here in Jan and recall Cartwright to send him in the other direction. HC gets a loan to a club where he'll be more likely to play 90 week-in week-out, Newport are happy because they get a mostly like-for-like replacement and we get to utilise one of our most promising academy talents. Of course, that being the sensible choice means that instead we're more likely to leave Cartwright there where he'll fall out of favour, recall Braybrooke and fail to get him a loan elsewhere/integrate him into the XI and he'll play u21s again and Newport/Fuchs refuse to deal with us for the near future.

Sheffield United (H) Saturday 29th November 12.30pm

Reckon we'll scrape a win, but it'll be like the Stoke game where it was a generally miserable affair. Meh. I've long since stopped caring. -
Amazing character, if he can show some tactical nous as well then he'd definitely be one to keep an eye on for a future role here. Not every ex-player makes a good manager, but he's got the charisma to nail the man-management side and his business intelligence would suggest he's got a good, pragmatic head on his shoulders for the rest. Hopefully he does well there. Probably good news for Sammy and Nathan, hope we see a couple more go that way in January - particularly if SB gets a move to league 1
-
Good effort to get 7.9 despite being on the losing side. He’ll have his fair share of options in January, for sure. Hopefully something league one.

That's Graeme to a T, really. Always keen to get involved with any fluff piece/token gesture the club do, and anything on the BBC, and won't do anything to jeopardise the benefits that come with those roles. Maybe he's just genuinely concerned about the level of chanting - which is an extremely valid point - but its a classic case of picking up on a very selective portion of the facts and missing the bigger picture and context. Either that or its fully intentional deflection to talk about anything other than the failures of the board. You can condemn the specific chant and the disgusting nature of it, whilst also acknowledging that it was a very limited scale and clearly not an actual threat, so using it as a straw man to talk about hate crime isn't really necessary. The FAB was always just the club putting in yes-men to say that they're doing 'something' with the fans, but its completely ineffective. It could be a worthwhile endeavour, but the club needs to distance themselves from the appointments process and just focus on the communication/workshopping side of it. Ironically, it feels like thats exactly what the Foxes Trust - a publicly open, democratically elected group representing fans - would be perfect for instead of the FAB.

Foxes Trust Reform - the final step
Xen replied to Foxes Trust Reform's topic in Leicester City Forum
Joined. The reform group is doing good work, and hopefully thats going to keep on picking up steam now that more of the blockers seem to be moving on... -
Jamie Vardy's magic We want that magic back 'Cos ever since he left us Our strikers are all cack We went to Top and Rudkin and said Chat Sh*t Get Banged Give us back our Leicester The best team in the land
-
Aye, we're definitely on the same page. 100% understandable for the ref to carry on until told otherwise - presumably the 4th official will have been talking to him and stadium staff and if it had needed to be paused I'm sure that would've been enacted quickly

Even if we don't improve, I'd much MUCH rather have a youngster like Nelson getting minutes than someone like Faes stinking the place out. On yesterday's showing he's certainly not worse, and at least he's one of our own and we can look towards the future with him. As you say, its our attack that is causing us the biggest issues. We should have the quality in the championship that even with an error-prone defence you can outscore the majority of teams - just look at how successful Coventry are this season. It's an approach that will be punished in the prem, but that's a problem for another time. If we can't score more freely then we're not going up, simple as that.

I'd take him as a DoF/Sporting director, or even something like Academy coordinator if he wanted a slightly less intense role. As much as I love NP I don't think he should come back as manager. Ideal scenario would be Rudkin out, NP in as DoF with someone like Susan back to support from the exec side whilst Top prepares to sell the club to someone who actually gives a sh*t. But that ain't happening.

Whilst that does make sense as a reason for stoppage, surely if the game continues then reaction to something like a goal could potentially increase risk to the individual and the response team? Even if you assume nearby spectators are going to be sensible in that situation, I'd still have thought the best course of action would be to pause the game for however long it takes just to remove the unnecessary risk. Glad to hear he's stable, hopefully he makes a full recovery x

Looking at the bench... it might well be.

Aye. I think my closest league club now is actually Oldham, keep meaning to get over for one of their fixtures at some point. FC United of Manchester even closer, for non-league. And plenty others to pick from as you say. Always found the whole 'second-club' thing weird though and picking up a new team to support somewhat arbitrarily just feels odd to me. As much as it's infuriating sometimes, LCFC is still in the blood and it's going to feel weird supporting anyone else

Ditto. I renewed, despite living near Manchester now. Plan was to still go to most weekend games but forward my ticket on to family still in leicester when i couldn't attend. Now its quickly shifted to the opposite; my ticket is de facto up for grabs by family unless i explicitly want to attend, which has been less and less as the season progresses. But its also proving harder to find someone to take a free ticket sometimes Last year I said I doubt I'll renew, and here I am now. But this year I'm already fed up with it and committed to not repeating that lapse in resolve. If there's significant change to the executive management of the club I might be less inclined to step away, but how many years have we been saying that with no (positive) changes in sight - on OR off the pitch.

I've defended Thomas in the past as I think there are times when he's been criticised for things that weren't entirely his fault (lack of support from the winger, or whichever CB he's next to being atrocious). But that good will only goes so far and today he's been properly amateur. Criminal that we don't have a proper LB option on the bench, especially when we've got Aluko fit and available.

Would appreciate a DM with a link if anyone's found a working one today

He'd be a straight swap for Winks, presumably. As a sub for this season but integrating with the first XI, then taking over if Winks departs as expected in the summer. If Soumare and Skipp can find a way to repeatedly get into Marti's system them there's no reason why Braybrooke can't also.
-
Exactly. At the end of the day... maybe he's ok with that? He's getting a good wage playing football for his hometown club, being part of some of our success and even if he isnt quite at the standard of a mid-table prem side (as we'd hope to be) he is a reasonable back-up at worst. He's not going to play for England or get a transfer to a CL club, so he may well be content to play a role here even if its not the most glamorous. It's exactly what King did for years after dropping out of the first XI and we all love him for it. I've said it before in match threads but I think most of the situations where he's looked most exposed are primarily down to lack of support from either the LW, LCM or LCB. A stronger fullback like Ricardo can cope in situations like that because he's clearly above the normal standard in this division. Luke isn't, and suffers as a result. He's ok and actually wants to be here, so yeah, not worth stressing over at this point. Maybe if we get promoted and he's still our starting fullback next season then there's cause for people to grumble, but we're not there yet.

The same team that lost 11 games that season and came worryingly close to blowing automatics?

Anyone able to send over a link?

To me this reads as "Either you go or I do". You don't tend to get rid of someone because a relationship soured and then also get rid of the other person involved. Susan's gone because Rudkin isn't. In other words, Rudkin will be here to stay... I do hope I'm wrong, but...
