  1. I get the feeling we're waiting on the Rangers decision. If RM doesn't get that job, he'll come here. If RM does get the Rangers gig, then it's back to the drawing board for us.
  2. Maybe we're keeping RvN and preparations are well under way?
  3. I actually think that Rangers would be a good move for him. His style might do well there with the second best team in the league. If you were Russell Martin and looking to map out a career in elite level football management, he goes from bottom half League 1 MK Dons, gets them to mid table. Then joins Swansea in the Championship, gets them from bottom half to mid table. Then he takes over at Southampton and takes one of the favourites for promotion to the Premier League and then gets really found out. Joining Leicester is surely a backwards step? Rinse and repeat the Southampton job? Maybe he sees himself as forging out a career as a promotion specialist? Rangers would be something different. Gives him the chance to win actual silverware and play in Europe. All good on a CV. If he does OK at Rangers, he'll be able to walk into a mid table Prem team in two or three years. He's played for Rangers too, and he's Scottish
  4. Yeah! On the pitch he does. It was more about shaping the squad depending on funds, embargos, points deductions etc. But yeah, on the pitch Plan A all the way. If that doesn't work then do Plan A harder. Clown.
  5. RvN absolutely knows what's going on. The board will have communicated with him. Not every significant conversation needs to be public knowledge. I'm sure that the hunt is on for the next manager. It looks like that will be Russell Martin. RM will now be (should be) looking at all our games from the last couple of seasons, doing his research on the squad and putting a plan A, B and C together to get us up next year depending on transfers, points deductions and so on. I fully expect we will have a situation where it will be announced that RvN is leaving and within 24 hours RM will be announced, possibly at the same time (personally hope it's someone else). That announcement was unlikely today as it is a bank holiday, more likely tomorrow. Possibly waiting for 30th June. Last time we were relegated we brought in Dean Smith which was a waste of time. I suspect the board have considered it would also have been a waste of time getting rid of RvN once relegation was nailed on and they've (please let this be true) been spending the last 10 weeks sorting out a seamless replacement instead of the usual sacking of a manager and subsequent 3 week wait before anything can begin to be sorted while they search for a new manager.
  6. Birmingham will get at least play offs. Back to back promotions from League One has been done quite a few times and Birmingham come into the season in great shape. We should be near the top, Southampton should be near the top, Sheff Utd will be near the top. Let's see what happens to Ipswich in the transfer market, but would expect them to have a good season. Birmingham will be in the mix for sure.
  7. He's just been asked on Sky Sports what his plans are for the future. Stated that he wants to get back into management but he "doesn't have a clue". At least he's honest.
  8. Please take your optimism elsewhere. It isn't welcome here.
  9. Saw a stat this morning that so far this Spring (still two weeks to go), we've had more sunshine hours than during the whole of last summer.
  10. The situation needs sorting out sooner rather than later so the club can get on with proper planning for next season. We aren't in a position to get a manager that ticks all the boxes for all the fans. For me, Dyche is a safe pair of hands and I wouldn't be opposed to him being here. No prospective manager guarantees success. I do think Dyche would bring a different atmosphere to training and I don't think that will be what a lot of the players have been used to. Which is a good thing.
  11. Interesting insight. Hopefully some of these distractions will diminish as the clearout progresses. As he matures as an adult, hopefully he'll realise that if he can get his head down he'll take his game to the next level.

    Jake Evans

Yes we need money now, but we need a long term vision too. There are, without exaggeration, 10 players I would rather see leave before we start getting rid of our promising academy products. Sell first team dead weights first - save on wages.

    Jake Evans

Really keen for this Evans to stay, he was in the year above my lad at school. Never met him, but somehow feel more connected and interested in his career. That's the great thing about local youngsters coming through the academy, local connections and stronger links to the community.
  14. He looks like the type of lad that takes his job seriously and works hard to improve all areas of his game. I thought he looked physically stronger in the last few games and his reading of the game has massively improved in my opinion. Next season, I really see him being a dependable 7-8/10 every week. Just what we need.
  15. He has a 100% record against next season's Championship teams. Across 4 games if you include his stint at Utd as well. Keep!
  16. Happy with that.
  17. Here's the thing, the officer was shown to have used a level of force that was justified, reasonable and proportionate, beyond reasonable doubt, according to a court of law in front of a jury. For me, that's the end of the matter and he shouldn't now have to face the prospect of still losing his job. With regards to your assertion that a greater burden of evidence outlining the actual threat needs to be garnered is dangerous in itself. We can't have a system where officers are expected to wait for a live firearm to be produced, pointed at them and then hope they have the reaction speed to pull their trigger before the criminal. It just doesn't work like that. We put our trust and faith that they make considered, objective decisions in situations that most people would likely crap themselves. And it sounds like what he did was just that. The IOPC are playing with fire in my opinion.
  18. So basically Liverpool have won the league one more time than us.
  19. Don't worry about the defence, try to out score the opposition, but get rid of your best striker before the season starts and if Plan A doesn't work the just do Plan A more.
  20. If anyone is interested in horror, Match of the Day is on tonight. It's been a tough watch all season.
  21. It's not really about who was the best or worst. In general, most of them have been absolute shockers. I'm reasonably happy if we have a 50/50 success rate with signings but for the best part of a decade now I'd say 80% of our signings have been poor or terrible. That is a dreadful record.
  22. Mads? Can't think of another option really.
  23. In the frame for Rangers apparently, according to the internet.
  24. We should go all out for Haarland.
