  1. Genuinely think that we are in the competition for the fourth place trophy, along with Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and Burnley. There is a long way to go and I am mindful that we are about to enter a transfer window where we are quite vulnerable BUT, we are in great form and those other 4 teams are beatable. Of note, if you take all of those teams' previous 10 games form and apply it to the remaining 21 games then us, Burnley and Liverpool all finish on 70 points, 4 or 5 ahead of North London. It's going to be close and we may end up paying for some of our early season results and some dip in form should be expected but it is great to be in the mix again. We have put ourselves in a great position and Europa League qualification should be the firm target.
  2. I feel I need to explain my comment. Sarcasm doesn't always travel well on the internet, some of you got it but obviously not everyone! For the record, Burnley mixing it up at the top is brilliant. I would love them to stay there and win the 4th place trophy and i would be first in line to point and laugh at all the Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool entitled fans who would be complaining that such a small team could gate crash the party. I loved it when it was us, but taking my Leicester hat off for a second and looking at it from a neutral's perspective, this type of event is why football is the glorious game it is and long may it last. Good luck to them. Oh and @Fox92, please don't tell me to fvck off again. I obviously don't want a closed league do I? I wouldn't be on a Leicester City forum if I did.
  3. Burnley are 4th. BURNLEY. Whilst I love the smaller teams mixing it with the establishment, I can't help but worry about what would happen to our coefficient if they actually qualified for the Champions League. This is a dark day for English football.

  6. I saw this thread bumped and thought he had put his name forward as a possible player/manager
  7. Loving this thread. This is really interesting stuff, thankyou @TiffToff88 for starting it and in particular @leicsmac for your insightful input. I'm definitely in the multi-verse camp, if it can happen once, it will happen again. Travelling through space at the speed of light whilst slowing time sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm not 100% certain of all the technicalities.
  8. If the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into? Let's say that the universe is a thing of (expanding) finite size, expanding into infinite space (which is a separate entity). Let's also say that the creation event occurred when a certain set of physics based laws converged to allow the precise conditions required to create the universe. So if SPACE is infinite in time and size, then even if the creation conditions occur once in a billion years in any given area of SPACE, then UNIVERSES will be being created somewhere all the time. Imagine that the King Power Stadium is section of SPACE and a football represents our UNIVERSE, then in my mind at least, it is perfectly conceivable that there can be lots of UNIVERSES in SPACE. Nature suggests that if things can happen once, it can happen again. With infinite time and space, it will be happening all the time in lots of locations.

  11. Southgate out. Shakespeare in. Hoof ball will work a treat at international level. The Germans won't know what's hit 'em. We'll get a new manager too without upsetting Craig too much. Win win.
  12. But we have a midfielder in the shape of Iborra, who captained a quality team to three (that's 1, 2, 3) Europa League wins. But he wasn't here two years ago so it's deemed his best position is on the bench!
  13. It's a thing. I think they call it the Peter Principle. It applies across many industries but basically says that people who perform well in a role are rewarded by being promoted, until they get to a level where they are out of their depth. Then they stop being promoted and just carry on doing a bad job until they leave. Shakespeare seems to be a good example of this unfortunately.
  14. Bournemouth is a big game. I don't think Shakespeare will be sacked if we lose but the performance has to be far, far, far more positive than the past few weeks. I think we have been over cautious in our approaches to games so far and I can forgive that as we have played 4 of the top 6 teams so far, but if we have any ambition to flourish in the Premier League then we have to set up to scrore goals against the likes of Bournemouth (without being disrespectful). We have spent a small fortune on some serious firepower over the last couple of years, I really think it is now time to put them to use.

  16. Sky do look good. I like the data rollover feature they have. They work over the O2 network if that makes any difference to you. I'm uninspired by the iphone 8 though but that's personal preference i guess and your choice.
  17. Apple has just become the worlds greatest marketing company in my opinion. In today's market, their tech is distinctly average but they are absolute masters at creating a loyal following who blindly throw their money them everytime they fart. I'm due an upgrade and will definitely be sticking with Android. I like the look of the Samsung range but they are still pricey. The OnePlus 5 looks quality and the camera on it is insanely good (a friend has one). So I could well get one of those. Either that or the Xiaomi Mi 6 which looks like an absolute steal for less than £350.
  18. Our mentality is wrong at the moment and that has to come from the manager. Our opening round of fixtures have been brutal with Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal (with Liverpool up next) but I sense that there was an air of expectation to lose those games, and we did. Now look at Burnley, people might poke fun at Dyche but after their 1-1 draw away at Liverpool he said in his post match interview that nobody gave Burnley a chance to get anything from their tough start. Except Burnley. They backed themselves and beat Chelsea away and taken points from Tottenham and Liverpool. They currently sit on 8 points. We have mentally only played two games and got 4 points. We (Shakespeare) have to be more positive.
  19. But if the 60 year old filmed it, he would be a sex offender.
  20. Social media will bring about the downfall of humanity. All cyclists are absolute menaces on the road. One minute silences have lost their meaning.
  21. Just seen Palace's next four fixtures. Southampton, Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea. They might as well have stuck with de Boer, they wouldn't be much worse off.
  22. I actually thought Palace might have a decent season, not now though. De Boer even said when he arrived that he wanted to change the style of play and that it wouldn't happen overnight and that the board shared and understood his vision. As for Hodgson What happens when Woy loses 4 prem games on the spin? Because it will definitely happen.
  23. I think this could bring about a whole new dynamic to our game. When Maguire brings the ball out into midfield, aside from allowing one of our midfielders to push up, it also draws the opposition towards him, disrupting their shape and creating more space for our attacking players. He really is an exciting prospect and could be an absolute steal.
