Noticeably got a lot more stuck in today, let alone what he did when he actually had the ball. Fingers crossed the last week has been a wake up call for him.

LCFC - West Ham Post Match Thread 2-2
NewburyFox replied to OntarioFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Well I hope the players take the positives from that second half and don't let the calamitous ending discourage them, because that 45-75 minute period was the best we have played in months. We tore them apart and could have scored a couple more, Barnes in particular played with a point to prove and like someone had lit a fire under him. Unfortunately the team were then kneecapped by their own manager with that disastrous sub. I've not even angry about the set-piece goal (again, we know we're shit at them), it's the way the entire system changed to grant them the initiative when we were doing just fine as we were. They didn't look like scoring, we looked capable of killing the game through possession. I left the ground feeling absolutely livid at Rodgers, and still am. But he's now had the most obvious lesson he could ever need in how to see the game out, and the players are clearly still playing for him. For the first time in a few games against West Ham, we matched them physically (set-pieces aside, where they simply have more players who are better in the air) and would've deservedly beaten them if not for the late capitulation. That gives me some hope. -
We were doing fine until that sub and he went and conceded ALL the initiative. Absolutely embarrassing. Bin him off.

Liverpool 2-0 Leicester - Post Match Thread

I'll go against the grain a bit. Considering how brittle our confidence is and that we were playing away at Liverpool, I don't think it was too bad. I thought we defended okay, yes Kasper made lots of saves but they were often pot shots, and I thought we fought well and worked hard. Clearly we wanted to play on the counter, unfortunately we fluffed any opportunities we did get with poor decisions or passes. Set pieces remain a nightmare. Our issues were never going to be resolved in an away game at Anfield - all I wanted today was to see some fight and desire after Sunday's debacle and we got that. -
He "lost" his man because he was the only one challenging Van Dijk for the header. What do you want him to do, be in two places at once?
-
Potter, if he'd come.

Last summer many people, myself included, would've happily sold him to Arsenal for a decent fee. Now I'd be gutted to lose him in the summer. It goes to show the progress he's made recently in terms of both effort and goal contributions that no one thinks Rodgers was talking about him when he talks about hunger.

Development/Youth Squads 2021/2022 Thread

Alves has looked good all game and then pulls that out the bag! What a talent. -
I think he's miles off it personally. Woeful positionally and goes backwards every time he gets the ball. He can run around and that's basically it.
-
I'm no fan of the colours of the third kit but it's harsh to compare it to that pyjama shirt Man City have.

Shearer made the set-piece fix sound so simple on MOTD, just stick our CBs on their CBs and problem solved. But we've conceded from a number of different ways from corners this season. We've been done several times by near post flick-ons, Man City played it quite deep and then Konsa had a simple header at the back post when he jumped over Soyuncu. The answer isn't as obvious as just get our big men to manmark theirs. You could kind of see what we were trying to do yesterday, with Vestergaard and Amartey marking zonally, and they did head several away, particularly Vestergaard. But they can't get everything, and it seems to me we have a real lack of players who are aggressive enough and tall enough to attack the ball and win it regularly. Throw in a keeper who refuses to leave his line and you can see why we have a major problem. I don't think there's an easy answer as it's partly mental and partly just our players' weaknesses. It should be factored in to player recruitment however and when it's time to get a new keeper, which IMO should be the coming summer or next, they should be able to dominate their box.

Sacrilege I know but he's ahead of Vardy in the pecking order for me. He offers far more in open play and building attacks and he can press better. Daka is no winger so it's one or the other and Brendan has a big call to make.

I was going to start a thread about the match day "experience" but this will do. Deafening pre-match music right up until the moment the game kicks off, tacky goal music and then the same song blaring out within seconds of the game finished. Who on earth thinks these are a good idea? The fact that they're played is bad enough but it's so so loud, just kills off any spontaneity and you can barely talk to the person next to you. And bin off the clappers too, 30,000 pieces of card per home game is a colossal waste.

We don't have an injury crisis. We're still able to field a defence of Castagne, Evans, Soyuncu and Thomas, only the latter of which is unproven at this level. Fofana played in the 2-4 hammering by Newcastle last season, he doesn't just come in and save the day, the same way Evans didn't.
-
Today was always going to be challenging for him. He's still adapting to the pace of the PL and Leeds play at 100mph. He'll blow hot and cold this season and be dynamite next season when he's fully settled and adapted.
-
Really poor again, although I do actually think the back four and Ndidi defended better than they have done for most of the season. The problem was we couldn't hold the ball in midfield or up front and the ball just kept coming back at us. We look bereft of confidence and like we don't know what we're expected to be doing, which is baffling considering it was a strong team and Rodgers has been here nearly three years.
-
We look so stale. A good team, like us in the first half of the last two seasons, would've cut through Leeds with ease today. We look like a team without a plan. I'd be surprised if Man Utd were interested in him now but he did seem to be waving to the crowd more than usual at the final whistle today.
-
Doesn't seem to have progressed much since he made his debut eighteen months ago. Can we not get him in the gym and get him to pack on a few kilos of muscle? He's still a boy.

I've watched a fair bit of Brighton over the last couple of seasons and think Potter would be a great choice if Rodgers were to go. His teams play excellent, pass and move football and it was only because their players couldn't finish for shit last season that they didn't finish much higher. He did brilliantly in Sweden, taking them from the fourth tier into Europe, did a good job at Swansea and is now doing well at Brighton. If Brighton play good football with the players they've got, think how well he'd do with Daka, Iheanacho, Maddison and co. I'm surprised Spurs didn't go for him in the summer and would be amazed if they didn't look at him closely if/when they sack Nuno.
-
I've never seen anyone dive in slower. Turns like an oil tanker and can't head the ball for shit. Wtf were we thinking?
-
Thought he was poor on Thursday but fine today, it's hard to defend when you've got a man holding onto your arm with both of his. The problem today was the complete lack of movement in midfield and attack until we scored.
-
Left us exposed in the first half while playing as a two but was dynamite in the second on the left side of a three. Really like the look of him.

I started at 197 in the queue and got on within a couple of minutes. Was able to buy tickets for me and my dad, who's also a season ticket holder with the required number of points. Good luck everyone.
