Pretty sure Dom Solanke had a rank prem record and was considered a failed signing for a good while for Bournemouth, now a £50m player, Sargent is big strong and mobile, he would be ideal if we could work a deal out
-
Think this and Booth leaving are to build our profit for ffp to hopefully afford a big hit on a striker for 25-30m, as sales aren’t done over a longer period I believe?

Forest are absolutely not in Fulham’s league whatsoever -

Our fans are insane sometimes, we were not expecting to win this surely? We kept up, had our chances, for the most part defensively secure, Faes and Vestegaard actually look like prem centre backs which is a far cry from relegation season, this should give us optimism, Southampton got beat and boo’d off at home against Forest and Ipswich were 4-1 down after half an hour -
tbf we do seem to only actively pursue one deal at a time, Ayew seemed to actually kick on straight after Skipp, which was right after Hlozek, which was right after Soule etc etc
-
Think it’ll be this, Ayew and Fofana, think Fotis ship will have sailed with the price tag
-
I don’t dislike the signing but how in gods name has it taken the whole week to put a transfer through where all parties are clearly interested, every game is vital this year and we have damaged ourselves by not being able to put this through in time for Fulham… how do we expect to put through two transfers next week when we can’t even put Ayew through over 5 days

Any idea what his shirt number is?
-
From the sounds of it I’m guessing just over £4m up front, £2m in add ons that are very achievable and another £2m in less achievable ones, would make sense with the 4/6/8 fees reported by different journos
-
Hopefully the signing is to make sure we have the numbers in positions behind the striker before we bid big for our striker option

Fulham v Leicester - Pre-match thread (August 24th)

He’s a willing worker but I’m unsure he has the defensive ‘nous’ of Reid, who does seem very good at not only working back but tracking a man through the lines, bad example but for the Porro goal Reid is shoulder to shoulder with him all the way, I don’t imagine Mavididi would have done the same. Horses for courses, play into your players strengths depending on the set up -
If he got a bit bigger and stronger without sacrificing the pace he could be a decent striker, for now think he gets knocked off the ball too easily

From the first half think Braybrooke, Cover and potentially Richards have sold themselves well for a decent loan move off the back of this -

Any result here would be an absolute bonus, expect the same team except potentially Skipp for Ndidi/Buanonotte, Reid will start for the defensive side of things -

Boo during the game, clap him off when he can’t score past us. I really do not understand actively encouraging a player who is playing against us, but also don’t get the aggressive hatred once the game is all done. Having said that I will be giving pelters to Chilwell/Fofana at any given opportunity for the way they left -
Who do you want for next season in the PL

Know it’s unlikely but if we have some spare cash I’d love for us to go for Chris Rigg from Sunderland, think he’s the next Wharton style player to come to the prem and come good very quickly -
Good young cm, frees us up to let Soumare go if he wants to leave and probably an upgrade on what we have, now hopefully on to Fotis, Nelson on loan and a LB and the window goes from a 1/10 to a decent window
-
Any chance of Archie Brown or has he already moved?
-
Is it more likely he’s being signed as a out and out striker or as one of our attacking midfield options? Haven’t really watched him play
-
Just for some context his last 4 seasons, scored 7 in 28 in his last palace season and hit double figures both the years before and one off in his year in Turkey, he may not come good but how it can be suggested he is past it at all or a worse option than our currently entirely unproven group of wingers from current evidence is beyond me.
-
I 100% believe if he turns it on and we survive we’d go back in to buy, don’t know if he just doesn’t suit the new manager nor how their manager does, extremely happy with this, doesn’t damage the budget too

Concerns about the direction of the club

No concern with the direction, imagine this is how the captain felt for the least 50 yards to the iceberg on the titanic, nothing we can do but watch it crash and burn -

I find it just unbelievable that we will have known our budget limitations all summer regardless of our big sales and only signed Bobby Reid on a free, if we knew about our restrictions that would’ve been the market to hit for our depth, but that’d mean signing players in June I guess
