No massive Reid fan but yes it really is, over 46 games that is just under ten goals which is a decent return. Find me 12 other players in his role that match that and we can call those stats average for the league. Can not wrap my head around the hatred for him in particular, signed on a free, not as if he was a massive issue in making other signings, if we had signed well rather than spending 35m on Ayew and Skipp he would’ve been a stable squad option for a survival side, and is certainly an alright squad option in the championship. He has not even been close to our worst this year, if he was called Boberto Reidinho I bet some of the spackers on here would love him, for the record he is pretty crap but is not even close to our biggest issue. Say it too often but at least he tries, would take him over Steph Maviwanky 10 times out of ten

26+ years ago, come on mate, you must know that is just absolutely not applicable to the modern game. It’d be the same as asking for a 325 in that era as it worked in the 60’s

Hopefully if we do use him it’ll be alongside Daka, so the centre halves can’t just follow him through into midfield every time without a care in the world. Honestly I think I’d be tempted to start him over Mukasa as he seems to have lost that initial confidence he had

Tbf I think our performances of late merit more than they have, should have beat Preston, Watford, Wednesday comfortably off the top of my head based on the games. Do think we win at least 1 more this year, we just have to stop this habit of shipping really silly goals when we score and only defending for a full(ish) 90 when our attack can’t be arsed

Think we get 3/4 out of the next two, then 1/3 out of Millwall and Hull. Puts us around 4-7 points and I think it’ll be 7/8 to survive. Sorry everyone, it’s going to be painful and go down to the wire, no one is going to just put us out of our misery

My team would be- Stol Ricardo(would do Aluko but not going to happen) Lascelles Okoli Thomas Fatawu Winks James Monga Ayew Daka Just go for it, get on the front foot with a bunch of of defensive subs for if we can get ahead

Agree with this- lack of skill does not equal lack of effort and vice versa, players can be our better performers and lack effort, which in the first place is why we went down initially. Skipp and Okoli at least give it a go, would rather a side of limited triers than the lot we have now, look at Charlton, who in their first team breaks ours and improves us, maybe one or two

Mavididi, Mukasa and Fatawu have all been a special brand of absolute garbage today, baffling, least we won’t miss any of them for the league one exodus because this is us gone

Think he’s the type that makes his partner look really good, Okoli hasn’t done anything massively stupid since he has started and I think it’s very telling

If we can have him for part of Friday and none of Monday I think we would be better off than a 30/60 split, if we can’t beat Wednesday with any midfield combo we will be done for at any rate

If we don’t go down he will stay, being the best player on a mid table championship team will get him a better move the he’ll get off the back of this year, he wouldn’t be a starter in the prem and at his age he needs to be starting. If we don’t go up it’ll be a top championship team or promoted side that’ll get him

The 4-1 loss to Brighton after we won the league in 13-14 comes to mind, it will be a massive deal for them as it was for us, maybe even moreso considering their recent history, really do need Ipswich at minimum to keep up with them

Don’t think the comparison points wise is worth anything. Different games with different form, confidence and players will throw up different results. At the end with Marti we were absolutely hopeless and that is what Rowatt has had to fix, two clean sheets after none since late summer (?) and a ridiculous run of form. Marti took over a newly relegated side who probably expected to go straight back up, and with a chunk of pre season, if he didn’t do better it would be astonishing comparing the two circumstances

He should be starting over Ayew but should never be anywhere near penalties. Would like to see Mukasa given 30 up front if we get ahead against Wednesday or Preston and see if he can do a job there, especially with Ramsey due back

I’d do Vestegaard and Nelson vs Wednesday where we would expect to have most of the ball, other two for every other match barring injury or Okoli being brain dead again

Can’t state how much I loved when he just bulldozed Louza early doors to win that header, can’t remember the last city defender who was doing that. Really does change the way we get attacked when the attackers are scared of the big brute centre back, big problem we have had this year is how nice and easy it has been to play against us. Think Okoli and Lascelles are probably good to be our first choice from here on out, not the best on the ball but big and strong and do not lose their aerial duels which is massive in this league

And the cross that Daka should’ve scored. By no means a Bobby Reid fan but he is not as bad as you are making out especially compared to what we currently have. Mavididi spent that game repeatedly hitting the ball into the man in front of hims shins, don’t really see how that helps either. Both are pretty crap and Monga is 16, I’d go Mavididi but Reid starting instead will not be the reason we lose(if we do)

He was very decent and Okoli looked a lot happier for having him in there- should Lascelles and one of the other two, if Souttar comes back then that 4 will do, wouldn’t be furious if we built around that 4 as our cb group for next season and bled Kevon Gray or Wilson-Brown as our spare. Wouldn’t want Vestegaard in with Lascelles as we would just be constantly turned around
