  1. Not sure about that. He does occasionally deliver a decent cross and I can certainly see the merit in trying to station him further away from our goal, but one thing it's very difficult to do without as a wing back is athleticism - Thomas is slow, weak and looks permanently knackered. I don't think there is realistically a position or role we can deploy him in where he's not going to look totally shit unfortunately.
  2. New five year contract for Daka as player-manager please Top
  3. Parachuting onto the pitch at half time with a big briefcase full of cash, the usual
  4. I could imagine Wagner being a target but given he took a job at RB Leipzig in the summer and has since said he's not that arsed about being a manager anymore, seems unlikely unless he's had a dramatic change of heart. If finishing sixth with Norwich was enough to dampen his enthusiasm for the job then a relegation battle with these dossers might kill it altogether
  5. I've got a feeling they're waiting and hoping we get a good result tomorrow, possibly also at the weekend, so they can justify going with the laziest/cheapest/most "we'll be fine" option available as per usual and just leaving it with King for the rest of the season
  6. 58/59 but with loads of the teams not placed in the correct divisions, let alone league positions, which isn't very helpful. I believe white text on blue background = first division, red/white = second, white/red = third and blue/white = fourth
  7. Two clean sheets for West Ham in the league this season, both with Hermansen in goal
  8. Looked good, if understandably a little rusty at times, but the question was never really about whether he's got the quality at this level. Going to need that week in week out from him and I really hope his body is up to it.
  9. In which case you probably have to start attributing it instead to the person who ensures that Rudkin is untouchable, no?
  10. I loved Death Stranding, boss fights excepted. Sure I'll get around to the sequel at some point in the distant future. Had fun with the early access release of Menace yesterday, a steep learning curve for a tactical mind as dull as mine but very satisfying when things go right.
  11. Another way of looking at that would be that he took (and, effectively, played for) a draw from a game we really needed to win, having earlier failed to beat either Everton or Leeds and then to turn up at all for the first half at Fulham. I'm in complete agreement with your second sentence and there were mitigating circumstances all over the shop. I just wasn't impressed by him in his short time here, that's all. I wouldn't be devastated to see him appointed again in a division where he's got a good track record, and I don't think he's the worst option we've seen suggested, but nor would I be particularly optimistic.
  12. I thought Dean Smith, while an improvement on Rodgers in that he actually had some interest in doing the job, was properly crap here. Seemed nice but it was real no tactics just vibes stuff, go out there and do your best lads, you're quick so we'll play you on the wing. Maybe that's the sort of thing we need, I don't know anymore.
  13. I love how in the summary our argument that we deserve a reduced punishment on the grounds of "exceptional cooperation" is right next to the bit about our refusal to provide our accounts
  14. I don't really know what he offers them aside from running about and throwing his weight around like a twat. Pedro might not be the most consistent goalscorer but he's a much better player.
  15. Well, my expectations are low but good luck to him. Can't say I've noticed anything he's done recently, aside from being part of a team that got hammered by us under Enzo and lost to Steve Cooper's Leicester City, so I'm clinging on to him always having a world class first touch on FM for whatever reason
  16. Sticking with Arsenal, not without flaws and capable of some truly honking football but they remain the best team overall, I reckon. Villa I think were always extremely unlikely to maintain a challenge and I still don't really believe in this iteration of Man City or their ability to go on one of their traditional late season rampages. Guehi and Semenyo are both obviously very good players but serious difference makers in a title race? Not sure.
  17. Jamaal Lascelles
  18. As far as I can tell he's started three games since 2023, came off injured after 16 minutes in the most recent of those, which was nearly two years ago. Might be that he adds a bit of character to the dressing room but if you're looking for someone to make an immediate impact on the pitch, I don't know how likely he is to do that. It's a bit Michail Antonio isn't it?
  19. For what it's worth, the matchmaking takes into account how aggressive you are towards other players so to an extent you reap what you sow. I personally am the friendly and co-operative type, and a lot of the people I run into will worst case completely ignore me and best case offer to team up to help with quests and such, but the fact there is a possibility they might turn on me is one of the things that makes the game interesting imo.
  20. What a worthwhile endeavour
  21. Just seen the red, amazing stuff. How can you do that and expect anything else to be the outcome? There's definitely something going on where people assume because he's so horrendous with the ball he must be good at defending because otherwise that would mean he's absolutely shit, wouldn't it? What a defender, loves defending.
  22. Other way around wasn't it? This comes up often enough that I regularly end up double checking and according to Henry Winter and James Nursey it was Vichai who made the call and was subsequently persuaded otherwise. Besides which, Pearson also went to work for Top at Leuven so unless that sacking played out particularly badly there can't be that much bad blood between them.
  23. Remember his debut in the Community Shield, came on for the last 20 and Man City players were just bouncing off him. He can't have played another good 20 minutes combined over the rest of his time here. All the worst Bouba, you dosser.
  24. Thomas, absolutely gash. I'm assuming the 10 he's on about is Bobby De Cordova-Reid who occasionally scores but otherwise doesn't ever really do anything of note. Skipp, while much improved recently after being utterly abhorrent for most of his time here, at 10 would be disastrous.
  25. I've been looking at Understat and FotMob which together have a lot of what you would find on fbref, as well as some stuff you wouldn't, like shot maps
