  1. It's Arsenal. They'll nick it in the 89th.
  2. Good post Trav and some interesting replies. I think Puel should have more time but I completely understand the impatience of people who want him out. Just wondering if things might improve when Mahrez slings his hook? The Man City transfer farce threw the whole squad out of kilter imho.
  3. Lawrenson has us down to win 0-2 which means we'll lose 1-0
  4. Apologies if this has been posted before, but well worth a watch. Interesting club Ostersunds FK!
  5. Fantastic. Just brilliant. Proper Cup football. And Spurs got done as a bonus.
  6. And apparently they left the restaurant at 5.30 IN THE MORNING. Love these winter break *training* trips especially when you're staring the Championship in the face.
  7. BBC say Slimani failed the medical at Newcastle.
  8. Fwiw, this is from the BBC, posted 15 minutes ago:
  9. Seconded. Just speaking about Italy obvs.
  10. Crikey! It was Wilf's 50th game for us today. Time does indeed fly. Really really like him, as a person and a player.
  11. Filbert Street is running in the 1.50 at Southwell today. Doesn't look like it has a chance (currently around 18/1) but I thought I'd flag it up if anyone fancies a punt.
  12. Burnley equalise
  13. Interesting take here from an Italian blog where they centre on the disgusting chants from the Spurs' fans about Jamie's wife and how he as a journeyman player has risen and overcome that sort of s**t.
  14. Good luck to Paul Nixon. By Christ, he's going to need it. Perhaps he can get Carberry's mojo back working for starters.
  15. Loved that place.
  16. 1. When I worked for Premier Drums at Wigston I got pissed with Ozzy Osbourne in Olive's Bar at the Belmont Hotel after a gig at the De Mont. Nice bloke. 2. I got pissed with Charlie Nicholas at the Las Brisas hotel in Acapulco in about 1988 during a hurricane. Can't remember anything about it. 3. I met the Queen at my church in London in 1995. Remarkably normal and a lovely smile. Top woman. I got pissed afterwards. 4. I went to a black tie do at The Grosvenor in about 1996, big cricket charity dinner. Lineker and his first wife Michelle were at the next table. I used to work with her brother Andy Cockayne at the BU on Belgrave Road so (politely, I wasn't pissed for once) introduced myself and asked her about her brother, what he was up to and so forth. I can confirm that melrose's impression of Lineker is spot on. He was a rude, arrogant knob with an extremely high opinion of himself. Probably got even worse now. 5. Nothing in comparison with Ian Botham 'though. Met him through work once (London, cricket charity job but not the Lineker thrash above). Great cricketer, wonderful charity work, splendid human being blah blah blah but the rudest, most ignorant peasant I've ever had the misfortune to meet. 6. Mikhail Gorbachov at an awards ceremony here in Italy. I was his interpreter. Cocked it all up. Disaster and humilation rolled up together in one nightmare evening. Remarkably I got paid. 7. Best of the lot, Jimmy Bloomfield at Filbert Street when I interviewed him for Radio Leicester's student programme (local radio at its worst) "Campus" in 1974 I think. The word gentleman was invented for him. Smashing chap. Never forgot him and what he brought to City.
  17. Spot on. He is rapidly disappearing up his own fundament. Best place for him.
  18. Well written, some grandstanding TV pundits might do well to read this. If they can read of course.
